Amazon Freevee's Jury Duty Gets Special Release; Stars on Mars Fan Experience
Court is back in session. Amazon Freevee and Prime Video have announced they will release an exclusive cast commentary edition of the hit docu-style comedy series Jury Duty on June 1. All eight episodes of the series will include secrets from the jury box, as told by director Jake Szymanski, hero Ronald Gladden, and some of the jurors themselves - James Marsden (as Sex Drive star James Marsden), Mekki Leeper (Noah), Cassandra Blair (Vanessa), and Maria Russell (Inez). While reliving the "case" of Hilgrove vs. Morris, trial observers will be treated to never-before-heard anecdotes about what it took to create the carefully-planned-yet-chaotic world - inside the courtroom and out - for esteemed foreperson Ronald Gladden. New testimony from Gladden himself will reveal exactly what he was thinking in every unpredictable moment.
Since the series debuted on April 7, Jury Duty has become the No. 1 title on Freevee and a viral hit, with over 283 million TikTok posts under the hashtag #JuryDutyonFreevee. The exclusive cast commentary episodes will be available on Freevee in the U.S., UK, Germany, and Austria, and simultaneously on Prime Video in the U.S, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Philippines, Singapore, India, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Audiences watching on Amazon.com or Prime Video via Fire TV will find the commentary under the "Extras" tab on the Jury Duty series page. Additionally, those who have been wanting their own Cinnamon & Sparrow pieces are in luck. Amazon has launched a collection of official Jury Duty merchandise through its print-on-demand service that allows customers to shop millions of products from popular brands and independent designers. The assortment features 35 different styles (functioning chair pants not included), and will be available in the U.S. on June 1 exclusively at amazon.com/jurydutymerch.

Brady Bunch House on the Market; The Family Stallone Gets 2nd Season
HGTV has put the famous "Brady Bunch House" in Los Angeles, with its instantly recognizable street view, on the market for immediate sale. In 2019, the network sparked a new era of "Brady-mania" for millions of fans when, as part of its series, A Very Brady Renovation, it transformed the real home located in North Hollywood into a replica of the original set design from The Brady Bunch television series. As part of the massive renovation, HGTV invested $1.9 million and added 2,000 square feet to the property's original footprint, including a full second story. Standout features in the completed home include the iconic floating staircase, the burnt orange-and-avocado green kitchen, the kids' Jack-n-Jill bathroom and a backyard with a swing set, teeter totter and Tiger's dog house. The listing price is $5.5 million.
HGTV plans to use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the home to help provide up to 250,000 meals for Turn Up! Fight Hunger, an initiative that helps kids living with hunger in the U.S. through No Kid Hungry. The home and many of its contents, including customized pieces such as the green floral living room couch and the credenza with a 3-D printed horse sculpture, will be available for sale beginning this month. The real estate listing will be managed by Danny Brown at Compass. During A Very Brady Renovation, which attracted more than 28 million viewers, HGTV stars, including the series hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott, worked alongside the cast members who played the six Brady kids to meticulously recreate every detail of the legendary home. HGTV's next pop culture-inspired series is Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge, in which the network changes a Southern California home into a real-life dreamhouse inspired by Mattel's Barbie. The series is set to air this summer.
Paramount+ announced that the new docuseries The Family Stallone, starring Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone, wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone and daughters Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet, has been officially greenlit for season two. Additionally, the series' debut broke records, becoming the #1 original reality series premiere on the service. The first season, which premiered May 17, is now streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Brazil, the U.K, Australia and Italy, with further international markets to follow.
After playing some of the most legendary characters in cinematic history, three-time Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone is ready to give cameras access to what he would consider the greatest role of his lifetime: Dad. This new series starring Stallone's three daughters, wife and himself offers a seat at the table of one of Hollywood's most famous families.

SitcomsOnline Digest: Showtime Looking to Bring Back Two Old Favorites; Disney+ Removing Content
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! We're almost officially to the end of the 22-23 season (although summer is not quite the "all rerun" season it used to be), and with a writer's strike still ongoing, it's not clear when we'll see the next one... but nonetheless, we're hearing what the networks are planning for next season, with major changes coming from The CW, and some cancellations of series elsewhere. Let's get going!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- It feels like 2010 all over again, now that Showtime is looking to bring back both Weeds and Nurse Jackie for new episodes. (Vulture)
- With the ongoing writer's strike, there is also a looming threat to writers: artificial intelligence writing new material. (Collider)
- Nothing in permanent on streaming media, and Disney+ is proving that by removing several series and movies. (Deadline)
- Tooning Out the News and Hell of a Week with Charlamagne the God are both done at Comedy Central. (Deadline)
- It seems that animated shows last forever, but not Archer, as it will end after season 14. (TVLine)
- We told you last week that Son of a Critch was coming to The CW. Now we have the full lineup for The CW, and while we don't know what the W stands for in CW, it seems C must stand for "Canadian." (SitcomsOnline)
WEEKLY PLANNER (MAY 20 - MAY 26)
- Cheers is the Catchy Comedy binge this weekend.
- The Fox animated comedies, aside from Family Guy (which already ended the season two weeks ago), have season finales tomorrow night.

Futurama Triumphantly Returns July 24; Final Season of Physical Drops August 2; Primo Premieres May 19 on Amazon Freevee
Season 11 of Futurama is set to premiere on Monday, July 24, 2023 with one episode. New episodes will be released weekly on Mondays on Hulu. After a brief ten-year hiatus, Futurama has crawled triumphantly from the cryogenic tube, its full original cast and satirical spirit intact. The ten all-new episodes of season eleven have something for everyone. New viewers will be able to pick up the series from here, while long-time fans will recognize payoffs to decades-long mysteries – including developments in the epic love story of Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler's litter box, the secret history of evil Robot Santa, and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy's tadpoles. Meanwhile there's a whole new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV.
After its initial run on the Fox Broadcasting Network, a roller-coaster of cancelations and resurrections ensued. Four successful direct-to-DVD releases in 2007-2009 led to the show's rebirth on Comedy Central from 2010-2013. Then, after a brief ten-year freeze in the cryogenic chamber, Futurama emerged triumphantly as a streaming series for Hulu with a 20-episode order set to debut in 2023. Starring John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman.
Apple TV+ announced that Physical, its widely celebrated and hit half-hour dramedy starring and executive produced by Rose Byrne and hailing from creator, writer and executive producer Annie Weisman, is set to return for its 10-episode third and final season on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Since its global debut on Apple TV+, Physical has drawn acclaim from audiences and critics alike, as well as praise for performances by its ensemble cast led by "perfectly cast" and "masterful" Rose Byrne, and stars Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel and Paul Sparks. The series is produced for Apple TV+ by Tomorrow Studios. Viewers can catch up on seasons one and two of Physical, now streaming globally on Apple TV+. Season three of Physical expands its cast with Emmy and Grammy Award-nominee and Critics Choice Award winner Zooey Deschanel, who plays 'Kelli,' a network sitcom star who decides to enter the burgeoning Fitness Industry.
Set in the idyllic but fragile beach paradise of sunny 1980s San Diego, Physical is a half-hour dark comedy following Sheila Rubin (Byrne), a quietly tortured, seemingly dutiful housewife supporting her smart but controversial husband's bid for state assembly. But behind closed doors, Sheila has her own darkly funny take on life she rarely lets the world see. She's also battling a complex set of personal demons relating to her self-image... that is, until she finds release through the unlikeliest source: the world of aerobics. Season two found Byrne having successfully launched her first fitness video only to encounter some new and bigger obstacles on her path. She is torn between loyalty to her husband (Rory Scovel) and the values he represents, and a dangerous attraction to someone else. And since she's no longer the only game in town, she finds herself having to outrun some fierce new competitors on the road to building a full-fledged fitness empire.
Primo, is a coming-of-age, single-camera comedy, inspired by NYT Best-Selling author Shea Serrano's life growing up in San Antonio, TX. It follows Rafa Gonzales, a wide-eyed 16-year-old being raised by his clever mother, Drea, and his five overbearing uncles (Rollie, Mike, Ryan, Jay, and Mondo) as they live their lives on the southside of San Antonio. Rafa is at an inflection point, as three big life moments coincide: he and his friends are nearing the end of high school; he's pretty sure he just met the girl of his dreams; and he just found out he has a real chance to become the first person in his family to go to college. Over the course of the series, the group - Rafa, his mom, uncles,, friends, and crush - will all affect each other and help one anotther grow in ways they weren't expecting, whether they like it or not.
All eight episodes of the first season will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Freevee in the U.S., the UK, Germany, and Austria beginning on May 19.
Primo stars Ignacio Diaz-Silverio (The Good Fight), Johnny Rey Diaz (Grey's Anatomy), Christina Vidal (The Terminal List, Taina), Henri Esteve (Grown-ish, Homecoming), Martin Martinez (Magnum P.I.), Jonathan Medina (The Purge), Carlos Santos (Gentefied), Nigel Siwabessy (Stop the Bleeding!), Efrain Villa (Better Call Saul), and Stakiah Lynn Washington (Everything is Both).
