Paul and Ally are thrilled that Sprout, the family gerbil, has finally died but explaining loss to Luke and Ava is more difficult than they thought it would be, as grief manifests itself in mysterious ways and throws the family off course.

The Conners - "Tats and Tias" (ABC, 8:00PM ET/PT)
Harris is newly unemployed, depressed and has moved back into the house, while Becky struggles to find affordable childcare. Jackie suggests Becky reach out to Emilio’s family for support and he gladly suggests she contact the two aunts who helped raise him. Dan runs into an old riding buddy, Tony (played by Steve Agee), who recently opened up a leather and tattoo shop and is looking to hire some help. Dan and Darlene tag team to get Harris the job and the family contemplates celebratory tattoos.
Bless This Mess - "Knuckles" (ABC, 8:30PM ET/PT)
While cleaning out the basement, Rio jokes about Mike’s lack of follow-through when it comes to his hobbies and various projects. Hurt by this comment, Mike sets out to prove Rio wrong. Meanwhile, Constance struggles to end her romantic endeavors with Pastor Paul who has become quite clingy.

Rainbow’s friend Rebecca gets mono (“the kissing disease”), and after helping her out, she becomes interested in the medical field. Alicia fibs to Paul about getting a flu shot, and when Denise gets sick, their distrust of the medical community comes to light. Meanwhile, Johan and Santamonica go to live with Harrison while Denise is sick and start to enjoy his lavish lifestyle.
