Fri-Yay: One Day at a Time Moves to Pop TV and Takes Jab at Former Home; Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt's Creek Farewell

It's time for another edition of Fri-Yay! That means we will take a look back on some sitcom happenings in recent days or weeks or other fun sitcomy stuff. It's a sitcom lover's paradise! Happy Fri-Yay!

In just a few weeks, former Netflix sitcom One Day at a Time will make the jump from Netflix to cable TV with its debut on Pop TV. The show made a light jab at the incident in its first preview from the new season, with Alex saying there's "just nothing good on Netflix anymore." It was a funny jab, but the shows creators swear it was in good fun. (The scene is readily available on YouTube if you're interested in seeing it.)

Although the creators claim the show is in good fun, it does make an interesting suggestion at how creators have admitted frustration with Netflix. A few months ago, BoJack Hoeseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg said he didn't think his show would survive under the network's cancel-happy current regime. Netflix was once known as a creator's paradise, but now it's a service where former content creators for the service admittedly talk about their disappointment with the service. It's an interesting change, and one that makes me interested to see where the show's direction will head on Pop TV.

Schitt's Creek

After six celebrated seasons and enough awards and nominations to make Moira Rose swoon, Pop TV is celebrating its breakout hit Schitt's Creek with the ultimate farewell for fans: an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the beloved series with the special Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt's Creek Farewell. The inside look will debut on Pop TV on April 7 at 8:30PM ET/PT immediately following the series finale, which is being supersized in a simulcast across Pop TV, Comedy Central and Logo in a special event at a new time, 8PM ET/PT.

Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt's Creek Farewell, directed by Amy Segal, is a celebration of the four-time Emmy(R)-nominated comedy series and its undeniable cultural impact. Fans will go behind the scenes for the first time, with never-before-seen footage of wardrobe fittings, the emotional final table read, audition tapes, and more. The special will feature interviews with the cast, creators, journalists, and celebrity superfans including Paula Abdul, Will Arnett, Carol Burnett, Cameron Crowe, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, Johnny Weir, and more.
