getTV Reveals Magnum P.I. Timeslot; Onyx Collective Bringing More Programming to Hulu

As we previously mentioned, Magnum. P.I. is coming to getTV! Now we know the timeslots. The series premieres Monday, February 6 at 6pm and will also air weekends at 10pm. The classic 80's detective series joins the ranks of Walker, Texas Ranger and The Rockford Files, rounding out "prime time is crime time" for the network. Airing for eight seasons, Magnum P.I. follows Tom Selleck's Thomas Magnum, a Navy SEAL turned private investigator living on an estate in Oahu, Hawaii. The show follows Magnum cracking cases, butting heads with his new home’s caretaker Jonathan Quayle Higgins III (John Hillerman), and enjoying his new Hawaiian life. Roger E. Mosley and Larry Manetti round out the central cast.

Onyx Collective (the company that brought us Reasonable Doubt) continues to expand its slate of premium programming by creators of color and underrepresented voices. Original dramedy UnPrisoned, executive produced and starring Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo, is set to premiere March 10 on Hulu, with all episodes streaming at once. From creator Tracy McMillan, the eight-episode series is produced by ABC Signature and will stream exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. The series is a half-hour dramedy about a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.

The highly anticipated six-part limited docu-series The 1619 Project, is set to premiere the first two episodes exclusively on Hulu on Jan. 26, with two episodes releasing weekly on Hulu subsequently, as previously announced. Onyx Collective announced the pilot pickup of 1266 (working title), a scripted comedy from 20th Television. The pilot is executive produced by Thembi Banks, Steven Canals, Gabourey Sidibe and Julie Bean, with Jill Kaplan to serve as a non-writing executive producer. Banks and Bean will be co-showrunners. Story by Sidibe and Banks, with Banks writing the teleplay and directing the pilot. Gabby Brixton's (Gabourey Sidibe) life is aimless ― she's living with her mom and making half-hearted attempts to become a singer/model and overnight millionaire. When she's fired from her job ... yet again ... she stumbles upon the gig of a lifetime ― phone sex! What initially seems like a quick way to make money turns into a life-changing experience when she meets the women who become her chosen family and learns how powerful, profitable and prolific her voice can be. The series is inspired by the true-life story of Academy Award nominee Gabourey Sidibe. ical and cultural life.

TCA Winter 2023 Press Tour: Hulu, NBCUniversal; Antenna TV Valentine's Day Marathon

Mae Whitman revealed the premiere date and a first look at her upcoming Hulu Original musical romantic comedy series Up Here. The series premieres all episodes March 24 on Hulu. A musical romantic comedy set in New York City in the waning days of 1999, following the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple, Lindsay and Miguel, as they fall in love and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves - and the treacherous world of memories, obsessions, fears and fantasies that lives inside their heads. Starring Mae Whitman, Carlos Valdes, Katie Finneran, John Hodgman, Andréa Burns, Sophia Hammons, and Emilia Suárez. Hulu's upcoming 8-episode comedy series History of the World, Part II" premieres Monday, March 6 with two episodes. Two new episodes will drop daily, with the finale on Thursday, March 9. After waiting over 40 years there is finally a sequel to the seminal Mel Brooks film, History of the World, Part I, with each episode featuring a variety of sketches that take us through different periods of human history. The series stars Mel Brooks, Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll, and Ike Barinholtz.

Hulu also announced Tiny Beautiful Things will premiere April 7 with all 8 episodes. Based on the best-selling collection by Cheryl Strayed, the comedy is about a woman - Clare (Kathryn Hahn) - who becomes a revered advice columnist when her own life is falling apart. Starring Kathryn Hahn, Sarah Pidgeon, Quentin Plair, and Tanzyn Crawford. Drama wise, Saint X premieres April 26 with 3 episodes then weekly until the finale with episode 8. The series, which is told via multiple timelines, explores and upends the girl-gone-missing genre as it explores how a young woman's mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth. Starring Alycia Debnam-Carey, Josh Bonzie, West Duchovny, Jayden Elijah, Bre Francis, Kenlee Anaya Townsend, Betsy Brandt, and Michael Park.

The USA Network/SYFY hit series Chucky has been renewed for a third season. And the SYFY hit series Reginald the Vampire has been renewed for a second season. E! will premiere three original romantic comedy movies. Why Can't My Life Be a Rom-Com? starring Em Haine, Cecilia Deacon, Wern Lee, Markian Tarasiuk, Aren Buchholz and Roraigh Falkner, premiering Sunday, Feb. 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Royal Rendezvous starring Isabella Gomez, Ruairi O'Connor and Ronan Raftery, premiering Sunday, Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. And Married by Mistake starring Chloe Bennet, Anthony Konechny, Blair Penner, premiering Sunday, March 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Settle in to the sofa with your sweetie this Valentine's Day and say 'I do' to a full day of romantic episodes from all your favorite classic Antenna TV shows. The "Love Is In/Over the Air" Valentine's Day Marathon starts Tuesday, February 14 at 5am Eastern on Antenna TV. Antenna TV's regularly scheduled lineup is all about love and romance, February 14 starting at 5am ET with Bewitched and ending at 4:30am with Archie Bunker's Place.

Zoey 101 Movie Zoey 102 Coming Soon to Paramount+; Starz Picks Up Minx

Nickelodeon announced the start of production on Paramount+'s Zoey 102 (working title), a full-length original movie based on characters from the hit live-action Nickelodeon comedy series Zoey 101. The movie follows Pacific Coast Academy alumni as they reunite for a wedding in the present day. Production is underway in North Carolina, with a premiere slated for later this year exclusively on Paramount+. The movie will star Jamie Lynn Spears (Zoey Brooks), Erin Sanders (Quinn Pensky), Sean Flynn (Chase Matthews), Matthew Underwood (Logan Reese), Christopher Massey (Michael Barret), Abby Wilde (Stacey Dillsen) and Jack Salvatore (Mark Del Figgalo).

Zoey 102 (working title) is directed by Nancy Hower (Saturdays, So Help Me Todd, QuickDraw) and Monica Sherer & Madeline Whitby (Betch, Drama Club, All That) wrote the script. Jamie Lynn Spears serves as executive producer along with Alexis Fisher, Hower and Sherer & Whitby. The YA (young adult) movie Zoey 102 (working title) is based on characters from the iconic series Zoey 101, which debuted on Nickelodeon in January 2005, and quickly emerged as one of the top live-action kids' series on all of television. The series follows Zoey Brooks as she enrolls in Pacific Coast Academy, a school that previously only allowed boys to attend. Throughout the series, Zoey and her friends navigate life as teenagers in a boarding school. The original Nickelodeon series was created by Dan Schneider. Zoey 102 (working title) joins Paramount+'s growing lineup of YA content, including the service's hit iCarly series revival, which was renewed for a third season, as well as the recently released film Honor Society, starring Angourie Rice (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mare of Easttown) and Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things). Both projects were also produced by Paramount’s Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Live-Action Studios.

STARZ announced it has picked up season one and two of the critically acclaimed comedy series Minx (formerly aired on HBO Max). STARZ will exclusively premiere the second season. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx centers around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women. The cast also includes Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano and Oscar Montoya. As previously announced, Elizabeth Perkins joined season two as recurring character Constance. TCA Winter 2023 Press Tour: FX; NBC Alters Midseason 2023 Schedule

FX set the premiere dates for several new and returning series coming in early 2023, including next batch of documentary films under The New York Times Presents banner, the third season of the comedy series Dave and the docuseries Dear Mama. These series join the previously announced premiere of the sixth and final season of FX's Snowfall on Wednesday, February 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX, and streaming the next day on Hulu. FX's The New York Times Presents Sin Eater - Two-Part Documentary Premieres Friday, March 10 at 10 p.m. ET Simultaneously on FX and Hulu. FX's Dave - Season 3 Premieres Wednesday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FXX and streaming the next day on Hulu. FX's The New York Times Presents: The Legacy of J Dilla - Premieres Friday, April 7 at 10 p.m. ET Simultaneously on FX and Hulu. FX's Dear Mama - New Docuseries Premieres Friday, April 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX and streaming the next day on Hulu. And FX will launch the second season of The Bear this summer with now 10 episodes (instead of 8 episodes), with a premiere date to be announced.

Dave Burd, star and executive producer on FX's Dave, revealed the all-star line-up of guest stars that will appear in the third season of the hit series which premieres Wednesday, April 5 on FXX and will stream on Hulu the next day. Joining Burd and other stars and producers of Dave at FX's Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour event, co-creator and executive producer Jeff Schaeffer said a number of surprises are in store for season three, including appearances by: Demi Lovato, Don Cheadle, Killer Mike, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Rick Ross, Travis Barker, Usher and more.

NBC is moving Found from its previous midseason premiere (Feb. 19) to a fall 2023 launch. In addition, the network is ordering additional scripts as a show of its commitment to the series. Now The Blacklist is moving from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. for its Sunday, Feb. 26 season premiere. Magnum P.I. will now air back-to-back episodes for its Sunday, Feb. 19 premiere at 9 and 10 p.m. and air in its normal 9 p.m. timeslot moving forward. The all-Magnum evening will start with Season 4 encore telecasts at 7 and 8 p.m. and NBC will air two more encores earlier in the week on Monday, Feb 13 & Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 10pm. Last year NBC picked up 20 episodes of the series that will air as a two-part fifth season. And finally, the critically acclaimed comedy Grand Crew will launch its second season on Friday, March 3 at 8:30 p.m.

TCA Winter 2023 Press Tour: ABC/Freeform; Antenna TV's Designing Women Super Belle Special

On the heels of its three wins at the Golden Globe(R) Awards ceremony, ABC has renewed hit comedy series Abbott Elementary from Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television for a third season. It was announced at the 2023 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour. Abbott Elementary delivers a 3.58 rating in Adults 18-49 after 35 days of viewing across platforms, growing 31% over its prior season and ranking as ABC's No. 1 series this season. In addition, the sophomore ABC sitcom averages 9.1 million Total Viewers in its second season after 35 days of cross-platform viewing, marking an increase of 13% over last season. New episodes air Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. EST. In last night's episode, "Fight," during a day of touchdowns and missed plays, the Abbott Elementary faculty find themselves learning lessons in teamwork. Two of Janine's students aren't getting along in class, leading her to seek advice from her colleagues on how to help repair their friendship. Meanwhile, Melissa and Ava plot to bring down Mr. Johnson in fantasy football.

ABC has ordered an embedded pilot episode of The Good Doctor called The Good Lawyer, from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Signature. In the episode airing March 6, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) seeks legal representation to help him win a case and puts his faith in a promising, young lawyer who has obsessive compulsive disorder. The episode is written by co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman, and directed by Ruben Fleischer. Kennedy McMann ("Nancy Drew") is set to guest star as Joni DeGroot, the brilliant, funny and self-aware lawyer who is relatively new to her prestigious law firm when she takes Shaun's case. Emmy(R) Award-winning Felicity Huffman (American Crime) is set to guest star as Janet Stewart, a highly regarded attorney and partner at the law firm with a fierce intellect and dry wit.

ABC's Emmy(R) Award-winning daytime drama General Hospital will celebrate its 60th anniversary on April 1, 2023. To honor the milestone, the network is set to present the cast and crew with a stage dedication on the Prospect Studios lot, permanently commemorating the show's legacy and serving as a reminder of the history that has been made in that very spot. The show will kick off its anniversary programming at the end of March with a special episode honoring the late Sonya Eddy, who played GH head nurse Epiphany Johnson on the series since 2006. Then, the beloved Nurses Ball returns starting the week of April 3, a fictional glamorous charity event complete with red-carpet fashion and musical performances from the illustrious citizens of Port Charles dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness. This marks the first time the Nurses Ball has aired since 2020. The festivities will then continue as icons of Port Charles unite to stop a legendary threat from the past. Jane Elliot is set to reprise her role as the legendary Tracy Quartermaine in April.

The second season of the critically acclaimed comedy Single Drunk Female will debut on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, with the entire 10-episode second season available on Hulu and on-demand platforms the next day, Thursday, April 13. Ian Gomez (Cougar Town) has been elevated to series regular as Carol's boyfriend, Bob. Busy Phillipps (Cougar Town) and Ricky Velez (The King of Staten Island) will recur as new people in Sam's life, and Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls) will once again recur as Sam's ex, Joel. As previously announced, Molly Ringwald will guest star as Carol's sister-in-law Alice. Emmy(R)-nominated grown-ish is being picked up for a sixth season. The series returns for the second half of its fifth season on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST, next day on Hulu. And finally, Cruel Summer, the highest-rated series in Freeform history, will return for its second season in Summer 2023. The anthology series features a brand new cast and mystery. The series now stars Sadie Stanley, Lexi Underwood, Griffin Gluck, KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada and Sean Blakemore. Paul Adelstein will recur.

If you are fed up with football and have had it with halftime shows, Antenna TV calls time out with the all-day "Designing Women's Super Belle Sunday" special, starting Sunday, February 12 at 5am Eastern on Antenna TV. The "Designing Women's Super Belle Sunday" special features a "best of collection" from the sitcom that follows a group of successful women working at an interior design firm in Atlanta. Designing Women originally aired from 1986 to 1993 over seven seasons with 163 episodes. The original cast included Delta Burke, Jean Smart, Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, and Meshach Taylor. Guest stars included Jonathan Banks, Tony Goldwyn, Hal Holbrook, and Gerald McRaney. You can catch Designing Women regularly Mon-Fri 11pm ET | 8pm PT only on Antenna TV!

All in the Family Coming to MeTV; 80th Golden Globe Winners

Oh Archie! All in the Family is coming to MeTV this February! All in the Family will now air in Sunday primetime with a four-episode block from 8:00-10:00pm ET/PT effective Sunday, February 5, 2023 and weekly thereafter until further notice. The block will be replacing the Perry Mason movie block. All in the Family will follow fellow former CBS sitcom M*A*S*H (Sundays 7-8pm). All in the Family of course previously aired on Antenna TV and was recently on getTV, but with Magnum, P.I. coming, as we previously mentioned, it looks like All in the Family won't be back on getTV and will expire.

The 80th Golden Globe Awards honored the best in film and American television of 2022, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The ceremony was held last night (January 10), from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with it being aired live on NBC and streamed on Peacock. Jerrod Carmichael hosted the ceremony. The big television winner was Abbott Elementary with three wins. Abbott Elementary won for Best Television Series - Musical/Comedy. Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson won for Best Television Actress - Musical/Comedy Series. The Bear's Jeremy Allen White won for Best Television Actor - Musical/Comedy Series. Abbott Elementary star Tyler James Williams won for Best Supporting Actor - Television Series. See the full list of winners.

SAG Nominations Live on Instagram Live; Remembering Earl Boen of It's a Living and Adam Rich of Eight Is Enough

Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) and Ashley Park (Emily in Paris) will announce the nominees for the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® on Wednesday, January 11 on Instagram Live. The nominations will be announced exclusively via Instagram Live on @sagawards beginning at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT. SAG Awards Nominations will kick off at 9:50 a.m. ET / 6:50 a.m. PT on @sagawards' Instagram Stories with an introduction by SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher (The Nanny). Nominations for the Outstanding Action Performances by Television and Film ensembles will follow, with announcements made by SAG Awards Committee members Jason George (Station 19) and Elizabeth McLaughlin (Hand of God).

This marks the third year that SAG Awards nominations will be presented exclusively via Instagram Live. The SAG Awards aims to utilize the innovation of social media channels to create an authentic connection with their audience by reimagining the Nominations Announcement as a seamless, virtual experience for both nominees and fans. The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023 at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Actor Earl Boen, who starred as Dennis Hubner on It's a Living and played Reverend Lloyd Meechum on Mama's Family, has died. He died from lung cancer in Hawaii on January 5. Mr. Boen was 81.

Boen starred as Dennis Hubner in 14 episodes of the second season (1981-1982) of the ABC sitcom It's a Living. The series was renamed Making a Living for the second season. It later aired in first-run syndication from 1985-1989. The kitchen at the posh restaurant Above the Top is first the domain of Chef Mario (Bert Remsen), then Dennis Hubner (Earl Boen), and finally Howard Miller (Richard Stahl), who eventually marries Nancy (Marian Mercer). The second season cast included Marian Mercer, Gail Edwards, Ann Jillian, Barrie Youngfellow, Paul Kreppel and Louise Lasser.

He played Reverend Lloyd Meechum, the Harper family's pastor, in four episodes of Mama's Family from 1983-1987. He also appeared as a clergyman in episodes of Three's Company, The Golden Girls (2 episodes), Boy Meets World, Seinfeld, The Wonder Years and The Golden Palace. He played Jim Peterson, Angela Bower's (Judith Light) boss, in five episodes of Who's the Boss? from 1984-1986. He had a recurring role as Dr. Kramer in four episodes of Get a Life from 1990-1991.

Some of his other sitcom guest appearances included What's Happening!!, The Jeffersons, Angie, Soap, M*A*S*H, Barney Miller, Too Close for Comfort, Madame's Place, Benson (2 episodes), Night Court, Family Ties (2 episodes), Newhart (2 episodes), Growing Pains, Silver Spoons (2 episodes), 1st & Ten (2 episodes), Punky Brewster (2 episodes), What's Happening Now!, ALF, Mr. President,Webster (3 episodes), 227 (2 episodes), Sydney, Amen (2 episodes), Family Matters, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Empty Nest (2 episodes) and California Dreams (4 episodes).

Boen starred as Howard on the 1987-1988 CBS mystery crime drama The Law & Harry McGraw. He had a recurring role as Judge Walter L. Swanson in eight episodes of L.A. Law from 1988-1993.

Some of his drama guest appearances included The Streets of San Francisco, Kojak, Hawaii Five-O, Wonder Woman (2 episodes), Police Woman, Eight Is Enough, Lou Grant, The Paper Chase, Barnaby Jones, The Dukes of Hazzard, Code Red, The Powers of Matthew Star, Voyagers!, Fantasy Island (1983), St. Elsewhere, Hill Street Blues, Crime Story, Hotel, Dallas, Matlock (2 episodes) and Family Law (2 episodes).

Boen was also very active in the voice-over field. He was known for voicing characters such as Mr. Bleakman in Clifford the Big Red Dog, Police Chief Kanifky in Bonkers, the narrator and King Terenas Menethil II in World of Warcraft, Señor Senior, Senior in Kim Possible and LeChuck in the Monkey Island series.

He was best known as criminal psychologist Dr. Peter Silberman in The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019, archive footage only). Some of his other film credits included The Main Event (1979), Battle Beyond the Stars (1980), 9 to 5 (1980), Soggy Bottom, U.S.A. Mr. Boen was a talented and versatile character actor. He was a familiar face on many sitcoms. He retired from screen acting in 2003, but continued his work as a voice actor in radio, television cartoons and video games until 2017. We thank him for his work on television and in films. He will be greatly missed.

Actor Adam Rich, who was best known for his role as Nicholas Bradford on Eight Is Enough, has died. He died from an accidental fentanyl overdose at his Los Angeles, California home on January 7, 2023. Mr. Rich was 54.

Rich starred as Nicholas Bradford, the youngest son, on the 1977-1981 ABC comedy-drama Eight Is Enough. The show was modeled on the life of syndicated newspaper columnist Tom Braden, a real-life parent with eight children, who wrote a book by the same title. The cast included Dick Van Patten, Diana Hyland (season 1), Betty Buckley (seasons 2-5), Grant Goodeve, Lani O'Grady, Laurie Walters, Susan Richardson, Dianne Kay, Connie Needham (Newton) and Willie Aames.

He appeared as Nicholas Bradford in a 1980 episode of 3-2-1 Contact. He reprised the role in the NBC reunion movies Eight Is Enough: A Family Reunion in 1987 and An Eight Is Enough Wedding in 1989.

Rich starred as Danny Blake on the 1981-1982 ABC action drama series Code Red, which was produced by Irwin Allen. The series stars Lorne Greene as Battalion Fire Chief Joe Rorchek and his family, some of whom, his elder sons Ted (Andrew Stevens) and Chris (Sam J. Jones), serve as firemen under his direct command as part of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The cast included Julie Adams, Martina Deignan, Joe Maross, James Crittenden, Dennis Haysbert and Jack Lindine.

He starred as Clovis in the final two episodes of the short-lived 1983 CBS sitcom Gun Shy. The series, produced by Walt Disney Productions, was based on its popular comedy-western films The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975) and The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again (1979). The cast included Barry Van Dyke, Tim Thomerson, Geoffrey Lewis, Keith Mitchell, Bridgette Andersen, Henry Jones, Janis Paige and Pat McCormick.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included The Love Boat, Silver Spoons and Small Wonder (2 episodes).

Some of his drama guest appearances included The Six Million Dollar Man, Fantasy Island (2 episodes), CHiPs (2 episodes), St. Elsewhere and Baywatch.

He provided the voice of Presto, the Magician, on the 1983-1985 CBS animated series Dungeons & Dragons. Presto is the 14-year-old Wizard of the team. His Eight Is Enough co-star Willie Aames provided the voice of Hank, the Ranger. Happy Days star Don Most provided the voice of Eric, the Cavalier.

Rich played Toby Hart in the 1981 feature film The Devil and Max Devlin, which starred Elliott Gould, Bill Cosby and Susan Anspach. He made a cameo as himself in Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003).

Mr. Rich's role on Eight Is Enough led him to be known as "America's little brother." A distinctive feature of his appearance during his years as a child actor was his pageboy haircut, which inspired thousands of parents of that era to imitate the look for their young sons. We thank him for his work on Eight Is Enough and other television series. He will be sorely missed.

CBS announced that it has renewed the broadcast and streaming hit Fire Country for the 2023-2024 season. Fire Country stars Max Thieriot (SEAL Team) as Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It's a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son - until his troubles began. Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he's back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire.

The new series has also been in high demand with international buyers and is currently distributed in nearly 100 countries around the world by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Fire Country also stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer. SNL Announces Guest Hosts, Including Aubrey Plaza; Paramount+ Orders Series Starring Nicole Kidman

Saturday Night Live returns Jan. 21 with Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) serving as host for the first time. Plaza stars in Emily the Criminal, currently streaming on Netflix, and HBO's The White Lotus. Sam Smith will perform as musical guest for the third time. The Academy and Grammy Award winner's new album, "Gloria," will be released Jan. 27. Michael B. Jordan will make his SNL hosting debut on Jan. 28. Jordan directs and stars in Creed III, in theaters March 3. Lil Baby will make his first appearance as musical guest. The Grammy Award winner's latest album, "It's Only Me," debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. SNL will also air an original episode on Feb. 4 with guests to be announced. In addition to the broadcast on NBC, SNL streams live on Peacock (11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT). Stream every season of SNL now on Peacock.

Paramount+ announced that Academy Award® winner Nicole Kidman is set to star in the upcoming original series Lioness alongside series leads Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira. As previously announced, Kidman will also serve as an executive producer under her production company, Blossom Films. From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, Lioness is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+. Lioness is based on a real-life CIA program and follows Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA's Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within. Saldaña will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives.

Kidman will play Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA's senior supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game. She must juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife who longs for the attention she herself can't even give and a mentor to someone veering suspiciously close to the same rocky road she’s found herself on. Lioness will also star series regulars Jill Wagner (Wipeout) as Bobby, a CIA Special Activities Division operative; Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters) as Neil, Joe's husband and the father of their two daughters; LaMonica Garrett (Designated Survivor) and James Jordan (Yellowstone) as Tucker and Two Cups, respectively, both experienced CIA Special Activities Division operatives on Joe's team; Austin Hébert as Randy, a tech specialist in charge of surveillance; Hannah Love Lanier as Kate, Joe and Neil's daughter; Stephanie Nur as Aaliyah, the daughter of a billionaire businessman with ties to terrorism; and Jonah Wharton as Tex, another member of Joe’s team.

Stop-Motion Animated Series Shape Island Premieres January 20 on Apple TV+; ABC's New Year's Eve Coverage is Still Rockin'

Apple TV+ announced the all-new stop-motion series for kids and families, Shape Island, featuring the beloved familiar voices of Yvette Nicole Brown (Disenchanted), Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows), Scott Adsit (30 Rock) and Gideon Adlon (Blockers). Based on the internationally best-selling trilogy of Shapes picture books by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen, Shape Island premieres globally Friday, January 20 on Apple TV+.

The winner of New Year's Eve is still Rockin' Eve! Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023 - Part 1 (Late-Night) (11:30 p.m.-12:36 a.m. - 13.7 million Total Viewers and 4.1/29 in AD18-49). Airing from 11:30 p.m.-12:36 a.m., the first late-night segment of ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023 attracted 13.7 million Total Viewers and averaged 4.1/29 among Adults 18-49. ABC's annual New Year's Eve special drew in 17.8 million Total Viewers and hit a 5.3 Adult 18-49 rating in the midnight quarter-hour. Part 1 ranked as the No. 1 entertainment program on New Year's Eve in Adults 18-49 (4.1/29), more than doubling NBC's Miley's New Year's Eve Party (+173% - 1.5/10 from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.) and more than tripling CBS' New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash (+242% - 1.2/8 from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.).
