Pearson centers around the world of recently disbarred NYC powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) as she adjusts to down and dirty Chicago politics. Newly appointed as Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak's (Morgan Spector) right hand fixer, Jessica is quickly embroiled in a crooked and dangerous new world where every action has far-reaching consequences. With her compulsion to win, Jessica is forced to reconcile her unstoppable drive with her desire to do the right thing - two things very much at odds.

This new ensemble drama hails from UCP and is executive produced by Suits creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh alongside executive producer and showrunner Daniel Arkin. Doug Liman, David Bartis and Gene Klein of Hypnotic (Suits, Impulse), and Kevin Bray and Chris Downey, also serve as executive producers. Additional cast includes: Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill), Simon Kassianides (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Eli Goree (Riverdale), Isabel Arraiza (The Oath) and Chantel Riley (Wynonna Earp).

Suits to Get 9th and Final Season; Ramy Youssef to Headline HBO Comedy Special

Suits

USA Network announced it has renewed its longstanding legal drama Suits for a 10-episode ninth and final season. The iconic hit series, which first aired on USA Network in 2011, hails from UCP and creator/executive producer Aaron Korsh. Suits began when legendary hotshot lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) took a gamble by hiring Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a brilliant, but not-so-legitimate college dropout, as an associate at his prolific Manhattan law firm. Over several seasons, this dynamic duo along with Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres), Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty), and Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle), became a family intertwined in one another's triumphs and tribulations, including countless corporate takeovers, a wild prison storyline, a shocking disbarring and a magical wedding.

Currently, Suits centers on an evolved firm led by Harvey, Louis, secretary-turned-COO Donna, plus Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce). The firm continues to tackle top corporate cases with the support of the formidable Alex Williams (Dulé Hill), undeniably talented Katrina Bennett (Amanda Schull), and new addition to the team, powerhouse attorney Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl). Together, these top minds rely on their knowledge, wit and intuition to keep their clients at bay and the firm afloat. Suits returned last night (Wednesday, Jan. 23) for the second half of its eighth season (8 more episodes for its 16 episode eighth season). Season 9 could premiere as early as this summer. Catch Suits Wednesdays at 10pm on USA Network.

Murphy Brown Casts 2 All-New Stars for Series; USA Network Orders 2nd Season of Series

Jake McDorman and Nik Dodani

Jake McDorman (Limitless, Manhattan Love Story, Greek) and Nik Dodani (Atypical) will join the cast of Murphy Brown when it returns to CBS for the 2018-2019 broadcast season. CBS has given a 13-episode, series production commitment to a current-day revival of the Network's classic comedy from Warner Bros. Television. As its 30th anniversary approaches, Murphy Brown returns to a world of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate.

McDorman will play Avery, Murphy's millennial journalist son who is following in his mother's footsteps, perhaps too closely, and has his mother's competitive spirit and quick wit. Dodani will play Pat, the director of social media for the news show who is tasked with bringing Murphy and the gang into the 21st century. As previously announced, original cast members Candice Bergen, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud will reprise their roles. Warner Bros. Television, producers of the original series, will produce the new multi-camera comedy with original creator Diane English serving as writer/executive producer through her Bend in the Road Productions banner. Bergen will also be an executive producer.

The Sinner

USA Network announced that its acclaimed drama The Sinner will return for a second limited season in Summer 2018. From Universal Cable Productions (UCP), the second, eight-episode season will once again feature Derek Simonds as executive producer and showrunner, Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple as executive producers through their company Iron Ocean, and Charlie Gogolak as executive producer. Brad Winters will also serve as executive producer. Antonio Campos, who directed the first three episodes of season 1, will return to direct and executive produce the first two episodes.

The Sinner Season 2 lures Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) back to his hometown in rural New York to assess an unsettling and heart wrenching crime -- parents murdered by their 11-year-old son, with no apparent motive. As Ambrose realizes there's nothing ordinary about the boy or where he came from, the investigation pulls him into the hidden darkness of his hometown. He's pitted against those who'll stop at nothing to protect its secrets -- and a mysterious woman who proves to be a complicated, enigmatic piece to this haunting puzzle.

Psych

USA's Psych: The Movie will premiere Thursday, December 7 at 8/7c. You heard that right, Psych-O's! T-minus two months. The Psych stars reunited at New York Comic Con for a panel and Q&A discussion moderated by TVLine's founder and editor-in-chief Michael Ausiello. James Roday, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson and Corbin Bernsen, alongside creator Steve Franks and executive producer Chris Henze, shared fun behind-the-scene moments, challenged fans to participate in the ultimate pineapple toss and revealed WWE Superstar John Cena's return as Ewan O'Hara (Juliet's brother). After eight extraordinary seasons of the fan-favorite series' run which included a 100th episode milestone, a plethora of nicknames and catch phrases, a two-hour musical and A-list guest stars, cast James Roday, Dulé Hill, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson, Corbin Bernsen and Tim Omundson reunite for Psych: The Movie. Fake psychic detective Shawn Spencer and Burton "Gus" Guster open up their new office in San Francisco, appropriately (though perhaps awkwardly) named psychphrancisco, and are back in business solving a case after a mystery assailant targets one of their own. A comedic thrill ride follows, as the wild and unpredictable Psych team pursues the bad guys, justice ... and food!

Previously announced guest stars include Zachary Levi as Thin White Duke, Kurt Fuller as Woody the Coroner, Jazmyn Simon as Selene, Ralph Macchio as Nick Conforth, WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair as Heather Rockrear and Jimmi Simpson as Mary Lightly in his third posthumous appearance. PSYCH: THE MOVIE is co-written by creator and director Steve Franks with James Roday. It is executive produced by Franks, Roday and Hill, Chris Henze of Thruline/Tagline TV and Kelly Kulchak. The special is from Universal Cable Productions in association with Thruline/Tagline.

Jerry Seinfeld Heading to Netflix; Jessica Biel to Headline USA Network Series

Kristen Wiig and Jerry Seinfeld

Creator, producer, writer and performer Jerry Seinfeld is making Netflix the exclusive home for his new comedic endeavors. Netflix has signed the comedian to a multi-faceted production deal, starting in 2017. As part of the exclusive pact, new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee will arrive exclusively on Netflix in late 2017, as will previous episodes of the Emmy-nominated series. Seinfeld will also film two, all-new stand-up shows exclusively for Netflix members globally, the first arriving on the world's leading Internet TV network later this year. Seinfeld will help develop scripted and non-scripted comedy programming for Netflix, with additional elements of the deal will be announced later. Twenty four brand new episodes of the comedy series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee by Jerry Seinfeld, that feature Seinfeld joining friends for a cup of coffee and a drive in a classic car, sharing stories along the way, will premiere in installments globally on Netflix starting in 2017, with subsequent installments following in 2018 and beyond. Prior seasons of the series (fifty-nine existing episodes) will also become available exclusively on Netflix at the same time.

Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman

As part of NBC Universal's TCA presentation in Pasadena, CA, Tuesday, USA Network announced a pickup for The Sinner, a new anthology series starring Jessica Biel (The Book of Love) and Bill Pullman (Independence Day). The first installment of the close-ended series follows a young mother (Biel) who, when overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage, commits a startling act of violence and to her horror has no idea why. The event launches an inverted and utterly surprising crime thriller whose driving force is not the "who" or the "what" -- but the "why" -- as an investigator (Pullman) finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman's buried motive. Together they travel a harrowing journey into the depths of her psyche and the violent secrets hidden in her past.

USA Network's 2016/2017 pilot slate also includes Damnation, directed by Hell or High Water's David Mackenzie; Unsolved, a scripted true crime serial chronicling the police investigations into the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, directed by Emmy winner Anthony Hemmingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story); and The Tap from executive producers Andrew Lenchewski (Royal Pains), Rob Reiner and Alan Greisman of Reiner/Greisman (The Bucket List), and Charlie Ebersol of The Company (The Profit). All four pilots, including The Sinner, hail from UCP.
