Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! Not surprisingly, with everybody back at work this week (including in the entertainment industry), there is lots of news to catch up on from the slow holiday weeks of news, including the shutdown of an online streaming service (though one that wasn't really making a big splash to begin with), new hope for sitcoms on NBC, new additions to Hulu, and much more. • Hill Street Blues - The Final Season (DVD, $34.93): The final season of the classic police drama arrives on DVD for those who skipped on the complete series release.

Who to Follow: Patricia Richardson (Twitter, Facebook), "in transition"

Claim to Fame: Last week, we featured Tim Allen as our Follow Me, and this week, we move on to his Home Improvement co-star, Patricia Richardson. For eight seasons, she played Jill Taylor, the wife of Tim Allen's character on the series. Before Home Improvement, she mostly appeared in guest roles, beginning in 1981 with an episode of Love, Sidney, and continuing on with Kate & Allie, The Cosby Show, The Equalizer, and more. She had a brief starring role on the series FM in 1989, but that was cancelled rather quickly. Since Home Improvement ended, she has had roles in Strong Medicine and The West Wing, and now, most recently she appeared on an episode of Tim Allen's new series, Last Man Standing... and the good news is that there is a little more of that to come.

As we mentioned, new comedy Sin City Saints is coming to Yahoo! Screen. Now we have a date and a trailer! Sin City Saints launches on Yahoo Screen on Monday, March 23. Starring Malin Akerman (Trophy Wife), Tom Arnold (Roseanne), Andrew Santino (Mixology), Rick Fox (The Game) and others, this half-hour comedy series follows the triumphs, travails and transgressions of a Las Vegas pro basketball team. From executive producer Mike Tollin (One Tree Hill, Smallville, Varsity Blues), executive producer and director Bryan Gordon (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, Party Down) and writer and executive producer Chris Case (Legit, Retired at 35, Titus). Other Yahoo Originals premiering on Yahoo Screen include Community on March 17 and Other Space on April 14. Stay with us for continued updates!

School is in session at Greendale! Tune in Tuesday, March 17 for season six of Community, only on Yahoo Screen. They will premiere two new episodes that day with new episodes every Tuesday. Yahoo and Sony Pictures Television announced in June that Community would return for a highly-anticipated sixth season, with 13 new episodes available exclusively on Yahoo Screen. "The fans spoke and we listened. Thanks to Yahoo, and the amazing team that makes Community great, we've avoided the Darkest Timeline yet again and plan to deliver a fantastic season" Community is a smart, exuberant comedy that is consistently ranked as one of the most inventive and original half-hours on television. This ensemble comedy centers around a tight-knit group of friends who all met at what is possibly the world's worst educational institution - Greendale Community College. Now for a few words from the cast...

The legendary catfights of Dynasty go from primetime to daytime for one day only! In less than two weeks Hallmark Channel's daytime series Home & Family hosts another reunion special this time bringing back cast members from the legendary prime-time soap Dynasty. On Monday, January 26 guests Pamela Sue Martin (Fallon Carrington), John James (Jeff Colby), Al Corley (Steven Carrington) and Gordon Thomson (Adam Carrington) join hosts Mark Steines & Cristina Ferrare to talk about the series. There will also be a feature on Nolan Miller's dresses and a tribute to the late great John Forsythe (Blake Carrington). This special Dynasty reunion continues Home & Family's recent run of reunion episodes paying tribute to some of TV's greatest series including Knots Landing, The Love Boat and Happy Days. Wow! Home & Family airs each weekday on Hallmark Channel at 10 am ET/PT.

Get ready to see a pair of new faces on the Greendale campus next season. Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Keith David (Enlisted) are joining the cast of Community, which returns for its sixth season next year exclusively on Yahoo! Screen. Brewster will play Francesca "Frankie" Dart, a consultant brought in to help whip the school into shape (good luck with that), while David plays retired scientist Elroy Patashnik. (It's not clear if Elroy is a student or a professor at Greendale... but that's a fine line, anyway.) Both Brewster and David boast serious sitcom cred. Along with her six seasons on Criminal Minds, Brewster played Joey's (and then Chandler's) girlfriend Kathy in a memorable Friends arc, and later guest starred on Two and a Half Men, King of the Hill, and Modern Family. David played tough guys for years in movies like Platoon and Armageddon before cracking us up as Command Sergeant Major Donald Cody on Fox's late, lamented military comedy Enlisted. (Weirdly, Brewster actually guest starred on Community last season, as IT department head Debra Chambers. Hmmm... will Abed notice that Frankie and Debra look just alike?)

Brewster and David should help fill the void left by a few departing Community cast members: Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) announced in September she'd be leaving the show to care for her ailing father, and last season saw the exit of Donald Glover (Troy). Plus, co-stars Jonathan Banks (Buzz) and John Oliver (Professor Duncan) aren't expected back, since they're busy working on Better Get Saul and Last Week Tonight, respectively. But never fear, fans: Main cast members Joel McHale (Jeff), Gillian Jacobs (Britta), Danny Pudi (Abed), Alison Brie (Annie), Jim Rash (Dean Pelton), and Ken Jeong (Chang) are all back for another semester at Greendale. We have a little more information on Community Season 6 to share as well: Production gets underway November 17 (that's next week!), and the 13 new episodes will air in early 2015 on Yahoo. That five o'clock shadow creeping across Sterling Archer's chiseled face is no new disguise or carefully considered grooming statement. The world's most cunning and dangerous spy is on a new mission and the stakes couldn't be higher. Sterling Archer, for the first time, is growing a moustache to promote men's health awareness during the annual Movember campaign to support the Movember Foundation. The title character in FX's hit comedy Archer says it's a natural move, as he is always trying to improve on his own health: "Like, this month I've cut out gummy bears from my scotch drinking." Now everyone can support Archer's quest. Donations to the Movember Foundation can be made through Archer's personal Movember Ambassador page. If you want to memorialize Sterling's mission, the FX Shop is offering an exclusive Archer "Movember" T-Shirt. Not only will your wardrobe get a dash of awesome, but all profits will be donated to the Movember Foundation. To date, the Movember Foundation has raised over $559 million and funded over 800 programs in 21 countries by raising awareness about prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. Some 4 million moustaches have been grown worldwide in response to the Foundation's challenge to grow a 'stache during Movember (formerly known as November).

Archer returns to FX in January 2015 for its sixth season. FX has ordered 13 episodes for both the sixth and a seventh seasons of the Emmy(R) and Annie Award nominated animated hit comedy series. Archer was created by Adam Reed and is executive produced by Reed and Matthew Thompson at Floyd County Productions. The series is produced by FX Productions. If you don't know by now, Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around an international spy agency and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillance is daunting and dangerous, every covert operation and global crisis is actually just another excuse for the staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain. The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the highly skilled and incredibly vain master spy "Sterling Archer;" Aisha Tyler as Archer's fellow agent and ex-girlfriend, "Lana Kane;" Jessica Walter as Archer's domineering mother and spy agency director, "Malory Archer;" Chris Parnell as the easily intimidated comptroller-turned secret agent "Cyril Figgis;" Judy Greer as Malory's loquacious, dingbat secretary, "Cheryl;" Amber Nash as the discordant director of human resources, "Pam Poovey;" Adam Reed as the gay voice of reason, "Ray Gillette;" and Lucky Yates as the spy agency's possibly mad scientist/ possibly clone of himself, "Krieger."

Award-winning star of stage and screen Neil Patrick Harris will host the 87th Oscars(R), show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced. This will be Harris' first time hosting the ceremony. The show will air live on ABC on Oscar(R) Sunday, February 22, 2015. A triple-threat performer, Harris has enjoyed a successful career in entertainment. He can currently be seen starring opposite Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in David Fincher's critically-acclaimed feature film, Gone Girl. Harris garnered multiple Emmy(R) and Golden Globe award nominations for his role as Barney Stinson on the hit television series, How I Met Your Mother, and he won an Emmy for his guest-starring role on Glee in 2010. He also recently starred in the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway, earning the 2014 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Harris served as host of the 61st and 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as the 63rd, 65th, 66th and 67th Tony Awards, for which he won four Emmys. Most recently, Harris added the title of author to his list of accomplishments with the release of his autobiography from Crown Publishing, Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography.

The last two Oscars telecasts, which were produced by Zadan and Meron, received a major spike in the ratings. The 86th Oscars was TV's most-watched entertainment event in 10 years and attracted the biggest viewership since 2000, with more than 45 million viewers. The show resulted in dramatic gains in younger demos and social media conversation, with more than one billion impressions generated on Twitter and 25 million interactions happening on Facebook on Oscar Sunday. Additionally, the star-studded "selfie" became the most retweeted photo of all time with 32.8 million views to-date. The Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre(R) at Hollywood & Highland Center(R) in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 4:00 pm, PT/7:00 pm, ET. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

First a Malin Akerman comedy, now Yahoo! has another comedy coming. Yahoo! has confirmed that production has begun on Other Space, a new half-hour comedy series slated for release on Yahoo! in Spring 2015. Created by the multi-talented, three time Emmy Nominee, Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Freaks and Geeks, and the upcoming Spy ), Other Space is a journey in unknown space set in the early 22nd century, when the human race has mapped most of the known universe, failed to find alien life, and frankly gotten a little tired of the whole thing. Feig, who wrote the pilot, will executive produce the eight episode series with Owen Ellickson. Academy Award winner Luke Matheny. Lucia Aniello, primetime Emmy Award Winner Rob Cohen, The Nix Brothers and Matt Sohn will direct the series along with Feig who is slated to direct the finale. Other Space will feature a group of young, fresh actors cast by longtime Feig collaborator Allison Jones. Playing the ship's crew - a collection of over-matched rookies, feuding siblings, burned-out veterans and obsolete robots include Karan Soni (Betas), Eugene Cordero (House of Lies), Milana Vayntrub (Silicon Valley), Conor Leslie (Klondike), Neil Casey (Broad City, The League), Bess Rous (Murder in the First), and the reunion of Trace Beaulieu and Joel Hodgson of Mystery Science Theater fame.

Yahoo and Mandalay Sports Media have confirmed that production has begun in Las Vegas, NV on Sin City Saints, a new half-hour comedy slated for release this winter. Conceived by Mandalay Sports Media, SCS follows the triumphs, travails and transgressions of Las Vegas' brand-new pro basketball franchise. Andrew Santino (ABC's Mixology) has been cast as Jake Tullus, the Saints' unpredictable and charismatic owner, who made his fortune as an internet disruptor in the field of Big Data. Malin Akerman (ABC's Trophy Wife) will star opposite Santino as Dusty Halford, a Stanford-educated lawyer who is the special assistant to the Commissioner, and Tom Arnold (Gardens of the Night, Hit and Run, Sons of Anarchy) will star as Kevin Freeman, a private casino host who happens to know all the city's secrets. The eight-episode run began production last week in Las Vegas at The Orleans Hotel and Casino. Mike Tollin will executive produce alongside Chris Case and Bryan Gordon who will also direct. Fred Savage (Modern Family, Happy Endings) is also on board to direct two episodes. Rounding out the cast is; B.K. Cannon (Switched at Birth), Justin Chon (Twilight), Keith Powers (Pretty Little Liars), Rick Fox (The Game) and former NBA player Baron Davis.

Factory announced that one of the most iconic and groundbreaking television shows from Sony Pictures Television, All in the Family, is now available on iTunes at iTunes.com/NormanLear from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. As of yesterday, Seasons 1 through 4 of Norman Lear's All in the Family are available on Digital HD for the first time, featuring all 85 original episodes from Seasons 1 through 4. iTunes will also offer Digital HD bonus content, including the original pilot, "Those Were The Days," along with the alternative pilot, and two featurettes on the history and making of the series. Simultaneously, Norman Lear's autobiography, "Even This I Get to Experience," is also available on iBooks at iTunes.com/NormanLear. Few television shows have left such a substantial and enduring footprint on American popular culture as Norman Lear's masterpiece, All in the Family. The revolutionary series looked at the state of the world through the eyes of an argumentative, but loving family and introduced some of the most fully-dimensional characters in television history. The jokes had a million targets, touching on race, politics, sex and human foibles, but the humor was firmly rooted in the characters of Archie, Edith, Mike and Gloria. Produced and developed by legendary TV producer Norman Lear (Sanford and Son; One Day at a Time; The Jeffersons; Good Times; Maude; Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman), All in the Family premiered on Jan. 12, 1971. The show focused on a middle-class family living in Queens, NY in the 1970's, starring Carroll O'Connor as Archie Bunker, Jean Stapleton as Edith Bunker, Rob Reiner as liberal son-in-law Mike "Meathead" Stivic, and Sally Struthers as daughter Gloria. All in the Family was No. 1 in the ratings for most of its nine-season run and won multiple Emmy® Awards. The release of the show on iTunes is a long overdue celebration of the enormously influential series and delivers fans something to treasure for years to come. Forty-three years after its debut, All in the Family still resonates and continues to receive praise from critics. In 2012, television critic Tom Shales wrote that "All in the Family was a great contribution to television, and to the human race." That same year, Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times said "we can now see that it may also have been a high-water mark for television in terms of how much impact a single series can have in shaping American culture."

Community is not coming back next season on NBC. It's also not coming to Hulu. But wait, it IS coming back somewhere! Yahoo and Sony Pictures Television announced that Community will return this Fall for a highly-anticipated sixth season, with 13 new episodes available exclusively on Yahoo! Screen. It's official and is happening. The cast has been saying six seasons and a movie, and looks like we are halfway there now with the announcement of a sixth season. Will a movie be back?

At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, The Soup), a fast-talking lawyer who was dis-barred until he could earn a legitimate degree. He chose Greendale, thinking he could breeze through the mediocre school without a hitch. However, he soon found himself the reluctant leader of a disparate group of misfits, all stuck at Greendale for different reasons. The study group includes Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs), who dropped out of high school to "change the world" and soon found herself in her thirties with no marketable skills; Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown), a religious housewife who landed at Greendale after a messy divorce and is now blossoming into a headstrong entrepreneur; Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi), a socially awkward, but well-meaning, pop culture savant; Annie Edison (Alison Brie), a high-strung perfectionist; and, Ben Chang (Ken Jeong ), a former Spanish teacher who is either insane or an evil genius, or both. At Greendale's helm is Dean Pelton (Jim Rash), an administrator whose ineptitude is matched only by his love of the school and his devotion to his students.

Dan Harmon created Community and serves as executive producer. Russ Krasnoff also serves as executive producer, along with Gary Foster (Sleepless in Seattle) and Chris McKenna (The Mindy Project).

FX is officially back in business with Denis Leary, placing a 10-episode order for the comedy series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Created by and starring Leary, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is produced by FX Productions and Fox Television Studios, and will premiere on FX in 2015. Starring Leary, John Corbett, Elizabeth Gillies, Elaine Hendrix and Bobby Kelly, SDRR is centered on "Johnny Rock" (Leary), a middle-aged rock 'n roller who desperately wanted to be rich and famous. So far, he's 0 for 2. As the magnificently talented lead singer of New York's legendary early 90's band The Heathens, Johnny was on his way to the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. His best friend "Flash" (Corbett) was being called the next number one lead guitar player on planet earth. The critics loved them. Their live shows were selling out.

But Johnny had a problem with booze. And coke. And weed. And pills. And cough medicine. And oh yeah - he slept with Flash's wife. And his bass player's fiancé. The band broke up the same day their first and only record was released. 25 years later Johnny is trying to get the band back together. Why? Because as his soon-to-be-ex manager Ira Feinbaum tells him: "Johnny, you're 50, broke and completely anonymous. In rock 'n roll you know what that makes you? A bartender." 25 years later the sex might be harder to find, the drugs might be Luvox and Crestor and Cialis - but rock 'n roll will never die. It just has a bigger prostate. The Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll pilot was written by Leary and directed by Michael Blieden. Leary, his company Apostle and partner Jim Serpico are Executive Producers. It is produced by FX Productions and Fox Television Studios. It will be filmed on location in New York City. The show will feature original music and occasional guest appearances by actual rock stars.

NBC has ordered three additional episodes of Up All Night, which will bring their season two total to 16 episodes. The series will go on a winter break after episode 11 airs in December. When the show comes back in the spring 2013, it will return as a multi-camera sitcom for the final five episodes of the season. The sophomore comedy, which stars Christina Applegate, Will Arnett, Maya Rudolph, and Luka Jones, has struggled in the ratings on Thursday nights. It has averaged around only three million viewers.

NBC tried a switch like this before in 2003 with Watching Ellie. The series, which starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren Bowles (Julia's real life half-sister) and Steve Carell, originally aired as a single-camera comedy from February-April 2002. When they returned almost a year later in April 2003, they switched to a multi-camera format. Unfortuntely, the format change didn't work for them as they had even lower ratings. A couple of other sitcoms made the switch from single-camera to multi-camera with much better success. The Odd Couple's first season was shot single-camera with a laugh track added. The other four seasons were shot with three cameras and in front of a studio audience. Happy Days is the best-known series to switch formats. Their first two seasons were shot single-camera with the laugh track added. When they made the switch to the multi-camera format in season three, they became a huge hit.

Paramount's Insurge Pictures and Yahoo! announced yesterday that Burning Love, the popular comedy series that spoofs reality dating shows, will return for two more hilarious seasons on Yahoo! Screen in 2013. The break-out video program premiered June 4 domestically on the Yahoo! Comedy Channel to critical acclaim.

Burning Love is a web spoof of the series The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The series follows fireman Mark Orlando (Ken Marino) in his search for the perfect woman to marry or at least be engaged. Many familiar actors from film and television have appeared in the scripted comedy series. Michael Ian Black appears as the host, Bill Tundle. Other characters are played by Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, Adam Scott, Mo Gaffney, Mather Zickel, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Ryan Hansen and Paul Scheer. The contestants on the show include Kristen Bell, June Diane Raphael, Ken Jeong, Malin Akerman, Natasha Leggero, Abigail Spencer, Noureen DeWulf, Jennifer Aniston, Beth Dover and Janet Varney.

The series is written by Erica Oyama (Children's Hospital) and directed by Ken Marino. Seasons two and three will feature returning cast members Ken Marino, June Diane Raphael and Natasha Leggero as well as new characters in their quest to find true love. Season Two, which is coming in January 2013, will follow Julie (June Diane Raphael), who failed to capture Mark Orlando's heart in Season One of Burning Love, as she searches for love in a group of guys who are hopefully all there for the right reasons. In Season Three, Burning Down the House reunites our favorite rejected guys and girls as they return to the Burning Love mansion to compete for a hefty prize and for each other's affection.
