Celebrities for ABC's Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars; Hallmark's Mistletoe Murders Renewed for Season 3

Hosted by Ken Jennings, Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars features the best and brightest celebrity players from the first three seasons returning to the Alex Trebek Stage to battle for $1 million for a charity of their choice. Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars premieres Friday, March 13 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), and streams on Hulu the next day.

The All-Stars lineup includes all three prior Celebrity Jeopardy! champions - Ike Barinholtz (S1), Lisa Ann Walter (S2), and W. Kamau Bell (S3) - who will attempt to defend their titles against 18 of their most competitive fellow stars. These three champions will be seeded directly into the tournament semifinals.

The competing stars include Margaret Cho, Macaulay Culkin, Rachel Dratch, Mark Duplass, Sean Gunn, Mina Kimes, Cynthia Nixon, Katie Nolan, Patton Oswalt, Andy Richter, Mo Rocca, Ray Romano, Tim Simons, Mira Sorvino, Robin Thede, Jackie Tohn, Steven Weber and Roy Wood Jr. The Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars Tournament will air across 10 hourlong episodes consisting of six quarterfinals, three semifinals and one final.

Hallmark Media is proud to announce the renewal of fan-favorite mystery series Mistletoe Murders, returning for a third season. Sarah Drew (Grey's Anatomy), who also serves as executive producer, stars as Emily Lane, a small-town shop owner with a secret past. From Lionsgate Canada and Headspinner Productions, the series also stars Peter Mooney (Rookie Blue) as local detective Sam Wilner. Mistletoe Murders season three is set to begin production later this year and will premiere during Hallmark's annual Countdown to Christmas programming event.

Mistletoe Murders follows Emily Lane (Drew), the outwardly friendly, and optimistic shop owner of a charming, year-round Christmas-themed store, who has been harboring a big secret. Residing in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher's Grove, Emily finds herself compelled to investigate not-so-quaint local murders. As Emily works with Detective Sam Wilner (Mooney), a smart local cop - he discovers that the bigger mystery is Emily herself. Season two ended on a thrilling cliffhanger, leaving the stakes for Emily and Sam higher than ever.

Remembering James Van Der Beek of Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23; The Way Home Returns for Final Season in April on Hallmark

Actor James Van Der Beek, who played a fictionalized version of himself on Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, has died. He died on February 11 in Austin, Texas, after a multi-year battle with colorectal cancer. Mr. Van Der Beek was only 48.

Van Der Beek's first television credit was as Paulie, a boy whom Clarissa (Melissa Joan Hart) attracts as her punk alter-ego Jade, in a 1993 episode of the Nickelodeon sitcom Clarissa Explains It All. He appeared as Stephen Anderson in three episodes of the CBS soap opera As the World Turns in 1995. He guest starred as Ethan in a 1996 episode of the ABC sitcom Aliens in the Family.

He starred as Dawson Leery in the 1998-2003 The WB teen drama Dawson's Creek. The series, which aired for six seasons, is about the lives of a close-knit group of friends in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts, beginning in high school and continuing into college. Dawson Leery is an introspective 15-year-old who aspires to be a filmmaker just like his hero Steven Spielberg. Throughout the series he has romantic relationships with his childhood friend Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) and his neighbor Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams).

Van Der Beek played a fictionalized version of himself on the 2012-2013 ABC sitcom Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (also known as Apartment 23). Krysten Ritter stars as Chloe, an irresponsible party girl who searches for roommates by asking for rent up front and then behaving outrageously until they leave. He is a close friend of Chloe's who is desperate to revitalize his dwindling acting career. The cast included Dreama Walker, Liza Lapira, Michael Blaiklock, Eric André, and Ray Ford.

He starred as Will Stokes in the short-lived 2014 CBS sitcom Friends with Better Lives. The series follows six people who all think their friends have better lives. Will Stokes is a gynecologist who returns to the bachelor life after learning of his wife's infidelity. The series also starred Majandra Delfino, Zoe Lister-Jones, Brooklyn Decker, Rick Donald, and Kevin Connolly.

Van Der Beek had a recurring role as Simon Tremblay, one of Robin Scherbatsky's (Cobie Smulders) former boyfriends, in three episodes of How I Met Your Mother in 2008 and 2013. In 2017, he guest starred as Bo Johnson in an episode of Modern Family. He appeared as Charlie in two episodes of the Prime Video comedy Overcompensating in 2025.

In 2026, he will posthumously appear as Dean Wilson in the Legally Blonde prequel television series Elle. The Prime Video comedy series explores the high school years of teenage Elle Woods (originally portrayed by Reese Witherspoon), set to be portrayed by newcomer Lexi Minetree. Elle is scheduled to premiere on July 1, 2026.

He had a recurring role as Dr. Joe Briggs, the new Chief of the ICU, in 11 episodes of the NBC medical drama Mercy in 2010. He starred as Senior Field Agent Elijah Mundo in the 2015-2016 CBS police procedural drama CSI: Cyber. In 2018, he starred as Matt Bromley, Stan's (Evan Peters) kingpin boss, in the first season of the FX drama Pose. He voiced Boris Hauntley in the 2017-2021 Disney Junior animated series Vampirina.

Some of his other television guest appearances included Criminal Minds (2 episodes), Ugly Betty, One Tree Hill (4 episodes), Medium, The Forgotten, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Franklin & Bash, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Walker. He hosted Saturday Night Live on January 16, 1999. He was a contestant in the 28th season of Dancing with the Stars in 2019.

He starred as Jonathon "Mox" Moxon in the 1999 coming-of-age sports comedy-drama film Varsity Blues. In 2002, he portrayed Sean Bateman (younger brother of American Psycho protagonist Patrick Bateman) in Roger Avary's film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's The Rules of Attraction. Some of his other film credits included Angus (1995), Texas Rangers (2001), Formosa Betrayed (2009), Labor Day (2013), and Bad Hair (2020).

Mr. Van Der Beek was a talented and versatile actor. He was funny and memorable playing a fictionalizd version of himself on Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. He had great comedic timing and was a scene stealer. We thank him for the laughs and entertainment that he brought us during his career. He will be greatly missed.

We also remember actor Charles C. Stevenson Jr., who played the bartender Smitty on Will & Grace. He died on January 19 of natural causes in Camarillo, California. Mr. Stevenson Jr. was 95.

Stevenson Jr. had a recurring role as Smitty in 12 episodes of the NBC sitcom Will & Grace from 2002 to 2006 and the revival from 2017 to 2020. Smitty is a bartender who regularly serves Karen (Megan Mullally) at different establishments.

Mr. Stevenson Jr. appeared in more than 100 television series and films over his decades-long career. He was cast as reverends or ministers on screen so often that it prompted him to describe his job as mainly "marrying or burying people". We thank him for his work on television and in films. He will be sorely missed.

Fans of Hallmark Channel's critically acclaimed, hit series The Way Home get to jump back into the pond for more twists and turns of the Landry family's journey continues. The fourth and final season premieres on the network Sunday, April 19 (9:00 p.m. ET/PT), streams next day on Hallmark+.

Series stars Andie MacDowell (Maid, Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove), Chyler Leigh (Supergirl, Grey's Anatomy), Evan Willams (Blonde, Versailles), Sadie Laflamme-Snow (The Apprentice) and Spencer MacPherson (School Spirits) all reprise their roles, as do Julia Tomasone (Ghostwriter), Jordan Doww (Ganymede) and Devin Cecchetto (The Parker Andersons/Amelia Parker), who joined the cast last season. With the Landry family's time travels taking them to 1925 in season four comes the introduction of Bianca Melchior (Wicked, Schmigadoon!) as young Fern Landry as well as Hallmark fan favorites Gabriel Hogan (Hannah Swensen Mysteries) as Grayson Goodwin and Dan Jeannotte (All I Need for Christmas, Good Witch) as Port Haven's new Temperance Inspector Cliff Kane.

New journeys and revelations await the Landry family across generations. At the beginning of season four, Alice (Laflamme-Snow) is about to graduate high school, Kat (Leigh) and Elliot (Williams) dream of the next steps for their relationship while Del (MacDowell) realizes she will soon be an empty-nester again. But Del, Kat, Alice and Elliot should know by now that no matter how hard they try to focus on the future, the past is never gone. As more mysteries are unearthed, the Port Haven of the past and the Landry family of generations before might just contain the answers they seek.

Hallmark Channel Acquires Gilmore Girls; Freida Pinto to Star in Netflix Series

Did someone say cozy, small town charm? Beginning August 25, pop culture sensation Gilmore Girls joins the Hallmark Channel lineup. Just in time for the fall, the Gilmore family and the beloved residents of Stars Hollow will add twice the warmth and joy to Hallmark Channel's widely adored slate of heartfelt programming.

Hallmark Channel viewers can watch Gilmore Girls from the very beginning on weekdays from 2-6pm and on weekends from 8-10am, in addition to special occasion marathons. Gilmore Girls debuted October 5, 2000, on The WB Network and quickly became a flagship series for the network and successor The CW over the course of seven acclaimed seasons. The show continues to capture the hearts of new generations of fans with its fast-paced dialogue, a town full of quirky but loveable characters, and a central mother-daughter duo that behaves more like best friends.

Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Gilmore Girls follows the lives of coffee-loving single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her academically minded teenage daughter Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) in the fictional Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. In addition to Graham and Bledel, the cast throughout the series included Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Scott Patterson, Liza Weil, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Sean Gunn, and Kelly Bishop, with special appearances by Edward Herrman.

Netflix announced that Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire, Mr. Malcolm's List) will star as Parul Chaudhury in Unaccustomed Earth, from showrunner/writer Madhuri Shekar, director Ritesh Batra, executive producer John Wells and Warner Bros. Television, a new drama series executive-produced by John Wells (The Pitt, Shameless). Eight episodes have been ordered.

Prime Video announced that the multi-genre Korean series Good Boy starring Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok will be coming to the service. Blending comedy, action, crime investigation, with romance, the series tells the story of former medal-winning athletes who become police officers and fight in a world full of criminals.

Yun Dong-ju (Park Bo-gum), Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun), Kim Jong-hyeon (Lee Sang-yi), Ko Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae) and Shin Jae-hong (Tae Won-seok) form a rag-tag team who seek to take down the forces behind a large crime group. With plenty of laughs and exciting action, Good Boy will entertain viewers worldwide. Prime Video customers in more than 240 countries and territories, will be able to enjoy weekly episodes of Good Boy on May 31.

The Way Home Returns for Season 3; Matthew Broderick and Son to Guest Star on Elsbeth

Hallmark's fan-favorite, critically acclaimed hit series The Way Home returns for its much-anticipated Season 3 on Thursday, January 2, 2025, debuting on Hallmark+, the company's new subscription streaming service and membership rewards program, where it will be available exclusively. Series stars Andie MacDowell (Maid, Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove), Chyler Leigh (Supergirl, Grey's Anatomy), Evan Williams (Blonde, Versailles) and Sadie Laflamme-Snow (The Apprentice) all reprise their roles. Season three picks up where season two left off – with Kat (Leigh) and her brother Jacob (Spencer Macpherson, School Spirits), who went missing more than two decades ago at the age of eight and is now an adult, poised to walk into the Landry home to an unsuspecting Del (MacDowell). Tony Award-winning actor Matthew Broderick and his son James Wilkie Broderick will guest star in a new episode of CBS' hit series Elsbeth in 2025. This will be the first time the father and son share the screen together. When Manhattan's elite want to make sure their offspring get into the prep school and then college of their choice, Lawrence Grey (Matthew Broderick) is the man to call no matter their grades, test scores or personality. Grey's expertise and connections make him rich and powerful, but when someone threatens his perch, he is driven to murder. Comedy Central Acquires Family Guy; Hallmark to Launch Hallmark+ Streaming Service

Comedy Central announced that it has licensed the rights to library episodes of the Emmy(R) Award-Winning animated series, Family Guy, which will air for the first time ever within the Paramount family of brands. The iconic series is set to launch with an all-day marathon on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, and will join the primetime lineup starting on Tuesday, September 3, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of the brand's programming. The licensing agreement with Disney Entertainment for the series was negotiated on behalf of Paramount Global by Barbara Zaneri, Chief Programming Acquisitions Officer. The series will continue to air on FX, FXX, Freeform, and of course stream on Hulu.

New streaming service and membership program Hallmark+ delivers the very best of Hallmark all in one place launching Tuesday, September 10. Artist and teacher, Teagan Ashley (Dalton), has spent a lifetime pursuing nature's beauty through the camera lens. This Christmas, Teagan is determined to capture a photograph of the elusive 12-sided snowflake. Teagan's success would complete her snowflake series on display at the local art gallery and would award the local community center where she teaches enough funding to make much needed updates to the building. With the reluctant help of Noah Cooper (Rosner), a former boyfriend who returned to their small town to run Teagan's father's snowplow business after his passing, Teagan heads out to the mountain range and directly into the eye of an on-coming storm. With long and precarious hours on and off the road, Noah and Teagan start to overcome past wrongs and discover an unexpected connection reemerging.

Prime Video's Hazbin Hotel; Lacey Chabert Gets Hallmark Unscripted Series

In the continued spirit of Thanksgiving, Prime Video is showing its appreciation to Hazbin Hotel fans by revealing the premiere date for Season One of the highly anticipated adult animated musical comedy. Episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video beginning January 19, 2024, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Guest stars include Broadway veterans Darren Criss (Saint Peter), Jeremy Jordan (Lucifer Morningstar), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Carmilla Carmine), Patina Miller (Sera), and Jessica Vosk (Lute). They will join the stacked lineup of previously announced main cast including Erika Henningsen, Stephanie Beatriz, Alex Brightman, Keith David, Kimiko Glenn, Blake Roman, Amir Talai, Christian Borle, and Joel Perez. Hazbin Hotel follows Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. After a yearly extermination imposed by angels, she opens a hotel in the hopes that patrons will be "checking out" into Heaven. While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner Vaggie, and their first test subject, adult-film star Angel Dust, stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the "Radio Demon" reaches out to assist Charlie in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality.

Hallmark Media is bringing its brand of feel-good programming to the unscripted genre with its new aspirational series Celebrations with Lacey Chabert, executive produced and hosted by perennial fan-favorite Lacey Chabert (Haul Out the Holly, Mean Girls). Chabert has become a network staple, starring in 38 Hallmark movies. This 10-episode series will debut late next year on Hallmark Media's subscription streaming service.

What's more, Hallmark Media plans to further expand its footprint in the unscripted programming space in the new year. Signaling the company's commitment to creating more kinds of quality content like the movies and series that Hallmark viewers have enjoyed for nearly two decades, this project is one example of many new, original programs being developed for the company. Working in partnership with consultant and master unscripted storyteller David Stefanou, the company plans to announce more projects in 2024.

Sundance Now Gets Original Comedy; Hallmark Original Returns for Season 2 in January

Acclaimed Sundance Now Original romantic comedy The Lovers is set to premiere in the U.S. and Canada with two episodes on Thursday, December 7, exclusively on Sundance Now and AMC+, with additional episodes dropping weekly on both platforms. Set in Belfast, Northern Ireland, The Lovers is a sexy, funny, fight-y love story about two people who appear to be utterly wrong for each other - yet may just be utterly right.

Bounce Launches New Sitcom Act Your Age on March 4; Hallmark's Latest New Series Premieres March 26

Bounce, the popular broadcast and multi-platform entertainment network serving African Americans, announced that its newest original series, Act Your Age, produced in partnership with MGM, will premiere on Saturday, March 4, with the first two episodes back-to-back starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. The premieres kick off the two-part, 16-episode first season, with the first eight episodes running weekly throughout the spring and the second half running over the summer.

The multiple-camera, half-hour comedy tells the story of three vibrant, successful Washington D.C./Northern Virginia-area women in their 50s who are each at a personal crossroads and who decide the best way forward in life is together. Act Your Age stars Kym Whitley (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Next Friday, Young and Hungry) and Tisha Campbell (Uncoupled, My Wife and Kids, Dr. Ken, Martin) with special guest star Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, The Mayor, Big Shot). Whitley plays Bernadette, a successful, no-nonsense real estate developer. Campbell plays Keisha, the wild card of the group who is always up to something, and Brown plays Angela, the former First Lady of Norfolk, Virginia, who is looking to redefine her life after being widowed by her husband, a revered career politician. The multi-generational sitcom also features Mariah Robinson (The Wrong Valentine) and Nathan Anderson (black-ish, Richie Rich) as the 20-something children of Angela and Bernadette, respectively.

Hallmark Channel offers viewers a special event night with a double dose of primetime drama on Sunday, March 26. The night kicks off with the highly-anticipated finale of its critically acclaimed, hit multigenerational family drama series The Way Home which travels to an earlier time slot of 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then hold on to your cowboy hats for the debut of an all-new original series Ride at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the intertwined lives of a rodeo family dynasty.

Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing, The Kominsky Method), Tiera Skovbye (Riverdale, Nurses), Beau Mirchoff (Good Trouble, Hidden Gems), Sara Garcia (The Flash, Reign), Jake Foy (Designated Survivor, A Little Daytime Drama) and Tyler Jacob Moore (Barry, Shameless) star in the new, multigenerational family ensemble following the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation, as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat. After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams.
