ABC Entertainment and Fremantle announced that actor and comedian Joel McHale is set to host Card Sharks, the suspenseful game where a fortune can be won on the turn of a single playing card! The show is slated to air this summer on The ABC Television Network. A premiere date is yet to be announced. The road to glory and riches begins with two players facing off in a head-to-head elimination race where the winning player claims a $10,000 cash prize and a chance to turn that amount into a life-changing payday. The anticipation builds as the winning contestant risks their prize on predicting seven final cards. The player leaves the game with whatever amount of money they have in their bank after their prediction, and results are revealed on the flip of their seventh and final card.

Joel McHale was most recently seen in The Happy Time Murders, as well as Netflix's A Futile and Stupid Gesture, opposite Will Forte. McHale also recently hosted The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale on Netflix, a half-hour topical series that took a sharp, absurdist look at pop culture and news from across the globe. In 2015, McHale wrapped the 12th and final season of E! Network's The Soup, in which he satirized pop culture and current events. He is best known for his starring role on the hit comedy series Community. Other starring feature roles include the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, supernatural thriller Deliver Us from Evil; the Warner Bros' romantic comedy Blended, alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore; Seth MacFarlane's comedy smash Ted; Steven Soderbergh's The Informant; as well as What's Your Number?, starring Chris Evans and Anna Faris. In 2014, McHale hosted the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington D.C. He also hosted The 2015 ESPYS on ABC. In the fall of 2016, McHale released his first book through Putnam Penguin, "Thanks for the Money: How to Use My Life Story to Become the Best Joel McHale You Can Be," which is part memoir, part self-help guide.

Coming off her brilliant guest performance on Station 19 last Thursday, actress Christine Lakin will next guest star on an episode of the ABC comedy American Housewife. In the Housewife episode titled "The Dance," Lakin will play a mother in the wealthy town (Westport, Connecticut) the show is set in. More info on her character and episode is still yet to come. It will be the 22nd episode of the season and is set to air on Tuesday, May 14 at 8|7c on ABC. In last Thursday's episode of Station 19, Lakin played a pregnant mother, who along with her husband, were victims of a crash on a desolate road in the pouring rain in the episode titled "When It Rains, It Pours!"

Lakin of course got her big break on the hit ABC '90s TGIF sitcom Step by Step, playing Al Lambert (all 7 seasons are available streaming at any time on Hulu!). Most recently, she starred in two seasons of the Pop TV series Hollywood Darlings with best friends Jodie Sweetin and Beverly Mitchell, where they play exaggerated versions of themselves. Lakin has also has guest starred on an episode of the ABC hit Modern Family opposite guest star Keegan-Michael Key and choreographs routines quite regularly on the ABC comedy The Goldbergs (set in the '80s) and now also in the spin-off Schooled (set in the '90s). Lakin can also currently be seen on IGTV's Moms in Cars with The Bachelorette alum DeAnna Pappas. The short episodes were big hits and now longer episodes are coming soon on IGTV. Lakin also produces and hosts the Worst Ever Podcast, with friend Alaa Khaled. She is quite busy and we are still hoping that Dancing with the Stars is next for her! The '80s sitcom It's a Living is coming to Logo starting Saturday, April 21! The series will launch on Logo from 12pm-3:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday, in between blocks of Three's Company and Mama's Family on Saturday and Mama's Family and Married...with Children on Sunday. Like with other Logo sitcoms, It's a Living will air in marathon blocks when it airs. It will primarily air on weekends, so check your listings for exact timings. Other Logo sitcoms currently on the schedule include The Facts of Life, Alice, Green Acres, Too Close for Comfort, Bewitched, The Nanny, The Golden Girls, Will & Grace, All in the Family and the already mentioned Three's Company, Mama's Family and Married...with Children. Logo will air It's a Living starting with the third season, which was the start of its run in first-run syndication. The first two seasons aired on ABC, then continued for four more seasons in first-run syndication. The series has not been seen on television since it briefly aired on TV Land in 2001.

The show follows the lives of the waitresses at the posh restaurant Above the Top, located at the top of the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California. At the helm was supervisor Nancy Beebe (Marian Mercer), the restaurant's maître d', who sometimes fraternized with the girls but usually gave orders. More often than not the scheme of the week involved upsetting Nancy in some way because all she wanted was an orderly wait staff. Adding to the chaotic working environment was a wisecracking pianist named Sonny Mann (Paul Kreppel), who made rude comments to the women, Nancy included, and got insulted in return. The kitchen was the domain of Chef Mario (Bert Remsen), then Dennis Hubner (Earl Boen), and finally Howard Miller (Richard Stahl), who eventually married Nancy.

Back in January at the TCA Winter 2018 Press Tour, we got word that Pop TV set an April 18 season two premiere date for Hollywood Darlings starring Christine Lakin (Step by Step), Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) and Jodie Sweetin (Full House), and now we are just days away from the premiere! The season premiere airs at 8pm this Wednesday (April 18) only on Pop. There was a sneak peek episode last Wednesday after the season finale of Schitt's Creek. The season premiere, "Y2K," gives us the origin story of how the Hollywood Darlings became best friends told through a series of flashbacks to New Years Eve, 1999. 8 episodes have been ordered for the second season, just like the first season. Tune in this Wednesday at 8! And if you're in NJ or PA, catch the stars of Hollywood Darlings at the XFinity Stores in South Orange, NJ on Thursday, April 19 from 5-7pm and in King of Prussia, PA on Friday, April 20 from 3-5pm. Put down your pogs, turn off that Tamagotchi and get a sweet '90s fix with an all new season of Pop's Hollywood Darlings. Renewed for a second season, the television comedy starring Jodie Sweetin (Full House, Fuller House), Christine Lakin (Step by Step) and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) will begin production this fall. Hollywood Darlings follows real-life friends who are bonded by a sisterhood only they can share - former child stars who grew up in the '90s limelight. Sweetin, Mitchell and Lakin play exaggerated versions of themselves as they comically improvise and riff on their current Hollywood lives. With the support of one another, this #squadgoals dream team can take on anything when it comes to parenting, marriage, friendship and revived careers in show business.

On the next season, Sweetin, a doting mother of two young girls, has recently wrapped production on season three of Fuller House and is in production on the upcoming Hallmark movie Finding Santa; Mitchell, who is also enjoying #familylife with two kids and hubby (follow along on her blog GrowingUpHollywood), appears on the newest season of Battle of the Network Stars; while Lakin, a proud new mom and wife, is deep into filming a role in the drama I Am That Man, along with co-hosting Worst Ever Podcast (audioboom). The first season of Hollywood Darlings became Pop's #1 original series debut of all time among W18-34 (L+7). In addition, A18-49 were up +46% over Pop's 2016 primetime averages (L+7).

Comedy Central's historic, eight-day, wall-to-wall marathon of over 250 episodes from across the first twenty seasons of the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning South Park earned huge ratings and drove Comedy Central to its highest-rated Weekday Total Day and Prime since September 2016. The South Park takeover, which ran from September 6 through September 13 leading up to the season 21 premiere increased Comedy Central's Total Day Adults 18-49 rating by +27% compared to the prior four-week time period average and by +21% compared to the year ago period. The epic, eight-day marathon particularly resonated with millennials (Adults 18-34), which saw gains of +46% in the demo across the marathon vs. recent levels. Over the duration of the stunt, more than 10 million unique viewers dropped in to watch the ongoing adventures of Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, with over seven million video views and 500K engagements generated via social posts across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Immediately following the conclusion of the marathon, the 21st season premiere of South Park drew 1.7 million total viewers and scored a 1.36 Adult 18-49 rating making it #1 show on cable on Wednesday and the highest-rated premiere in 2017 among Adults 18-49, as well as Adults 18-34, for any primetime comedy across all of ad-supported cable.

CMT announced Nashville will return for a new season with 16 episodes premiering early next year. In addition, the network revealed a midseason premiere date of Thursday, June 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT for the back half of season five. Charles Esten (Deacon) first announced the renewal on Facebook Live on behalf of the entire cast. In the coming weeks, CMT will announce its complete 2017-2018 slate. Long-time SVOD partner Hulu will continue to stream episodes the day after they premiere on CMT.

The devoted "Nashie" fan base has generated record-breaking numbers for CMT. Nashville ranks as the network's highest-rated and most-watched show in the network's history, averaging 2.1M weekly viewers (L+7). Over the course of the first-half of the season, the series notched nearly 16 million total viewers on CMT alone, and nearly 23 million on CMT and Nick at Nite. The news comes on the heels of strong growth for CMT. Original premieres are pacing up 51% among A 18-49 and 79% among W18-49 versus year ago. Total day ratings are up 19% with A 18-49 and 25% with W 18-49. As a result, CMT garnered the biggest year-over-year growth this quarter than any other top 50 channel on cable (excluding news nets).
Rachel Bilson (The OC, Hart of Dixie) and Kaitlin Doubleday (Empire) will join the series in the second half of season five. In addition, fresh off the success of Big Little Lies, Jeff Nordling will recur in the role of Brad Maitland, an extremely successful, charming, egotistical, narcissistic owner of the most successful record label in Nashville. The midseason premiere picks up 10 weeks after the events that unfolded in the midseason finale. Deacon helps Daphne with a school project, but Daphne feels unmotivated. Juliette gives Maddie unsolicited advice about a song. Scarlett and Gunnar receive news about the baby. The series stars Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Charles Esten as Deacon Claybourne, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad and Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad. In addition, this season features Joseph David-Jones as Clay, Rhiannon Giddens as Hallie Jordan and Cameron Scoggins as Zach Welles in recurring roles.

Three fan favorite child stars of the '90s - Jodie Sweetin (Full House, Fuller House), Christine Lakin (Step By Step) and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) have signed on to star in Hollywood Darlings, a new unscripted docu-comedy series on Pop. Christine Lakin, of course, is a friend of this very website, as we have interviewed her on multiple occasions. The network ordered eight half-hour episodes, which will follow three lifelong friends who grew up together in "the business," became household names, and now take on even bigger roles as moms, wives and businesswomen. Their social circles include other celebrities, who will make special appearances throughout the series. There is no airdate set just yet for the series, but it could be Fall 2016 or early 2017. Actor Matthew Perry (Friends, The Odd Couple) will star as Ted Kennedy in The Kennedys - After Camelot, the follow up to the award winning The Kennedys. The new four-hour miniseries is based on the New York Times best seller, "After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to the Present" by best-selling author and biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli and will premiere on REELZ in spring 2017. Perry will also serve as an executive producer. Matthew Perry portrays Ted Kennedy in the years following the assassinations of his brothers Jack and Bobby and depicts his very complicated public and private life as he tries to live up to the Kennedy family political ambition and fill a male leadership void in the family itself. Perry joins Katie Holmes, portraying Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who despite her desire for privacy had arguably become the most famous and admired woman in the world. Jackie's ties to the Kennedy family remained strong throughout her life and her relationship with her brother-in-law Ted grew ever closer as they constantly turned to one another for support and as confidantes.

Perry is currently starring on stage in London's West End in The End of Longing, a play which is his playwriting debut. The second season of the CBS comedy, The Odd Couple, in which Perry stars and serves as executive producer, premieres April 7. The Kennedys - After Camelot project was brought to Muse Entertainment by Keri Selig of Intuition Productions (The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe) who serves as an executive producer. Jon Cassar (The Kennedys) and Katie Holmes are directing from scripts by Stephen Kronish (The Kennedys) and Sandra Chwialkowska (Lost Girl). Holmes also serves as an executive producer. The Kennedys - After Camelot is filming in Toronto, Canada this spring.

Pop, previously known as TVGN, officially rebranded on Jan. 14, 2015, and announced four new projects in development that embrace the network's brand promise of celebrating the fun of being a fan. The projects include a comedic, candid interview series with celebrities recounting how they lost their virginity, from executive producers Morgan Spurlock and John Stamos; a docu-series starring top syndicated and Z100 radio host Elvis Duran; a reality series pairing celebrities and inventors to create and launch a product line; and a stage comedy series with talent recounting their worst or most embarrassing life moments. Let's go overall four. First up is Losing It from Morgan Spurlock and John Stamos. Based on the popular Yahoo! web series, this celebrity-hosted television series will capture sit-down interviews with stars as they recount their unforgettable and often hilarious real-life stories of losing their virginity. Bits are recreated by puppets, animation, live action and claymation leading up to and following the big event.

Next is an Elvis Duran Project. Elvis Duran, one of the most listened-to syndicated radio personalities in the U.S. and host of his own show on Z100 in New York (Elvis Duran and the Morning Show), is the subject of a docu-series that follows Elvis and his employees both at work and play. The series will feature superstar guests and platinum selling artists who stop by the radio show, road trips with fans, and best moments from fan-fueled music festivals and live events. The third project is Celebrity Inc. It pairs celebrities with their dream product and an aspiring inventor to showcase the ultimate product launch and illustrate the power of celebrity endorsement. In each episode, a different celebrity is featured while teaming up with top product development company Edison Nation, LLC to identify the most talented aspiring inventors. After spending a week in product development camp, the inventors pitch their product to the celebrity, and one person is chosen to have their product launched, with the celebrity's name attached, in stores nationwide and online. And finally, our pick of the four is Worst Ever. A handful of celebrities take the stage in Worst Ever to recount their hilarious, embarrassing and sometimes shocking "Worst Ever" scenarios such as a date, audition, break-up, fight, family dinner, sexual encounter or interview. Hosted by actress Christine Lakin (Step by Step), and based on her and Alec Ledd's live stage show in Los Angeles, the series is a wry, candid and honest look at how celebrities aren't immune to life's most awkward moments.

Kirstie Alley's TV Land sitcom pilot has now been picked-up to series! Multiple Emmy® Award-winner Kirstie Alley is lighting up the stage on TV Land as the network picks up Kirstie's New Show (previously titled Giant Baby), a new sitcom revolving around Alley as Broadway star Madison Banks. The sitcom reunites the actress with longtime friend and former Cheers co-star Rhea Perlman and pairs them with famed Seinfeld actor Michael Richards, both of whom have won multiple Emmy® Awards as well. Kirstie's New Show also stars Eric Petersen (Shrek: The Musical) and will premiere in Fall 2013 with 12 episodes and will join other TV Land original comedies like Hot in Cleveland, The Exes, Happily Divorced and The Soul Man.

Kirstie's New Show revolves around Madison "Maddie" Banks, a renowned Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down when Arlo (Petersen), the son she gave up at birth, suddenly appears hoping to connect after his adoptive parents have died. However, Maddie doesn't exactly see nerdy and schlubby Arlo fitting in with her luxurious lifestyle. But when Maddie's assistant and best friend, Thelma (Perlman), and outlandish driver Frank (Richards) encourage her to give Arlo a chance, Maddie is shocked to find that perhaps she has motherly instincts after all. The pilot is written and executive produced by Marco Pennette and is also executive produced by Kirstie Alley and Jason Weinberg. Larry W. Jones and Keith Cox serve as executive producers for TV Land. We hope to see her Dancing with the Stars dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy guest star, along with host Tom Bergeron. On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the hilarious night of live comedy Worst Audition Ever is back with the Worst Breakup Ever edition for some post Valentine's Day hijinks! The show recently had a three-month/six-show run in the fall (Sept-Nov)and is back this winter and spring (Feb-April)! Let's face it, opening your heart up isn't easy and there are a lot of bumps (and humps) along the way. Come and commiserate at Worst Breakup Ever! Laugh along with an evening of real people opening their souls with hilarious stories of awkward and crushing breakups with lovers, co-workers and friends! Laugh and cringe as you relive some of your own agonizing experiences - because pain is best served funny and with cocktails. The festivities will be hosted by Deanna Pappas (The Bachelorette) and will feature real-life breakup stories from Andy Dick (NewsRadio, Less than Perfect), Sarah Collette-Wagner, Alex Fanuele, Larry Poindexter, and Danielle Thorpe! Sounds like a lot of fun and if Andy Dick is in the house, you know you'll be in store for some comedy!

TBS has made a slight addition to its fall 2012 schedule. They will be adding another sitcom, but not until November. The sitcom is the 1995-97 sitcom The Jeff Foxworthy Show. The 41-episode sitcom has not been on the air since it aired on CMT and Nick at Nite quite a few years back. TBS will air the series on Saturday mornings in a four-episode block from 5-7am beginning early morning on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. It will be replacing four airings of Married...with Children, which will remain every other morning from 5-7am. No other schedule changes will be made to the fall schedule that we announced.

The sitcom aired its first season on ABC before moving to NBC in its second season. Stand-up comic Jeff Foxworthy stars as a hardworking, self-proclaimed "redneck," striving to keep up with his fledgling heating and air business, his wife, kids and his well to do in-laws. Blue collar comedy at its finest! Haley Joel Osment and Jonathan Lipnicki played Foxworthy's sons. The sitcom only lasted two seasons but it has been featured on cable in syndication and both seasons are out on DVD. Catch the sitcom coming to Saturday mornings on TBS this November! After a successful one-year anniversary in Los Angeles and a sold-out charity benefit in New York City (which we were happily on hand for!), Worst Ever Productions is proud to present their first monthly run of Worst Audition Ever this fall at the Cavern Club in Silverlake, CA - produced by Christine Lakin (Step by Step), Alec Ledd, Daniel A. Miles, and Corri English. Of course if you don't know (we mentioned the NY show in June), it is an evening of comedy about a group of artists (actors, directors, dancers, etc.) telling their real stores about the all too familiar audition process. The format is simple - a blank stage with one microphone - making the shared stories truly intimate and personal. For anyone who has ever had an embarrassing moment "putting themselves out there" in the name of art, Worst Audition Ever presents a wry and candid evening of some of the most awkward moments in artistic vulnerability – because pain is best served funny and with cocktails.

The three-month run began last night actually, but you can still go tonight (Sept. 19) at 8PM for the last September show. Actors/writers performing this month are Kristen Cummins & Dee Dee Miller (The Mark & Mike Show, Troubled Ambition), Stephen Bienskie (Silence! The Musical), Kathy Deitch (Wicked), Ross Patterson (FDR: American Badass!), Jeff Skowron (NCIS, The Burg), Jeff Hiller (Silence! The Musical, 30 Rock), Patrick Bristow (The Groundlings, Ellen), Wyatt Fenner (Bones), Hanna LoPatin (writer on Partners, UCB), and Rob Nagle (Mad Men, Eli Stone). A new group of artists will participate every month! The October shows are scheduled for Wednesday, October 17 at 8PM and Thursday, October 18 at 8PM. And the November shows are scheduled for Tuesday, November 13 at 8PM and Wednesday, November 14 at 8PM. Tickets are only $20 online or you can buy at the door...so it is well worth the price. Believe me, I went to the New York City show in June and had a blast!

Christine is also of course an actor and probably known best to fans of sitcoms as Al Lambert on the long-running TGIF sitcom Step By Step for ABC. She has also appeared in dozens of TV shows and films including Family Guy, Melissa & Joey, Stevie TV, You Again, Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve. She wrote, produced and stars in the webseries Lovin' Lakin on Hulu, which is a SitcomsOnline.com favorite webseries! She is a nominated choreographer and a member of The Troubadour Theater Company.

In addition to producing this three-month run of Worst Audition Ever, Christine is starring in the L.A. version of Silence! The Musical, a hilarious parody based on the Academy Award-winning film. She plays Clarice, the same role as Jodie Foster in the film. The musical runs every Thurs-Sun at The Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles through early November. No surprise, CBS will premiere virtually all of its new and returning series during the official premiere week (Sept. 24-30) for the 2012-13 season. For the 10th time in the past 11 seasons, Survivor will get an early start to the season. Survivor: Philippines will be the only series to open a week earlier with a special 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 8-9:30pm leading into the season finale of summer staple Big Brother from 9:30-11pm. Then during premiere week for its new series, the new comedy Partners premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 8:30pm, followed by freshman dramas Vegas debuting Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 10pm, Elementary on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 10pm and Made In Jersey on Friday, Sept. 28 at 9pm.
View the entire CBS Fall 2012 premiere date list. With CBS' announcement, only ABC has not officially announced its fall premiere dates yet. Sources tell SitcomsOnline.com that we will probably have them this week and to expect the following for Friday nights: Shark Tank and What Would You Do? will have their season premieres on Friday, Sept. 14 from 8-10pm. Then six weeks later, sophomore sitcom Last Man Standing will then have its season premiere (likely two episodes) on Friday, Oct. 26 at 8 leading into the new time period debut for Shark Tank at 9pm, replacing What Would You Do, which would return later in the season. Then, following the night of the CMA Awards (Thursday, Nov. 1), new sitcom Malibu Country starring Reba McEntire will launch on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8:30pm. ABC is expected to launch its other new fall series during premiere week like new Wednesday comedy The Neighbors, new Thursday drama Last Resort and new Sunday drama 666 Park Avenue. However, due to the Presidential Debate on Wednesday, Oct. 3, ABC may opt to save the premiere of The Neighbors until Oct. 10 and double up on Modern Family on Sept. 26. It is highly expected that new 10pm drama Nashville will premiere on Wednesday, October 10. Stay tuned until all of this is official.

Moving on, today is the day of premiere of the new webseries Lovin' Lakin starring Christine Lakin (Step by Step), which we covered last week. Make sure you watch this hilarious new series on Hulu or YouTube! Christine gave us so much information last week when we talked to her, we want to share more from her today. Plus she also spoke to our good friend Chris Mann of Reimagine That! for the latest episode of his awesome podcast! So please find that below.

Christine told us that she filmed some of her episodes on the set of the big screen movie You Again (starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Odette Yustman, and many many more stars like herself): "We were actually filming You Again when I started to film this series, I wrote it right before You Again and we were filming in L.A. that summer and of course I took advantage of the opportunity working with so many great actors. And you know the Jamie Lee Curtis episode, unfortunately we can't air, I mean it's brilliant but unfortunately a little too "blue." Not for I think the world, but for I think for Jamie and the kinds of stuff she does these days, for some of her branding she had a little bit of a problem with it. She did say she would come back to do another episode, so I hope we get to do another season, cause she's just brilliantly funny and such a gifted comedic improviser, and a lot of people probably don't know that about her! So yeah, I sort of took advantage of having all of these great people around, and asked Kristin Chenoweth obviously, Jamie Lee, Kristen Bell, and you know Patrick Duffy had always said he would do an episode with me and again that was perfect timing, he was in L.A. doing a couple of days on You Again, so it worked out great. Staci Keanan came by that day, and then you know Seth MacFarlane, you know I pop in and out of the Family Guy offices, he was kind enough to come in on a Saturday to the (Oops Doughnuts) office when nobody else was there and do that for me. So I cannot express enough that making something like this is a labor of love. Everybody did it as a huge favor to me!"

Christine really appreciated everyone working on this show for her: "I would like to go on record thanking everybody who is a part of it. You know there were a bunch of kids in one of the episodes, where I teach an acting class, and they were all so funny and their parents just totally let me abuse them--in all the right ways--and make them do really silly really wrong things and they were such good sports about it. Everything from that to my friend Patrick Day at the Young Actors Space letting me use that space, to people coming in on Saturdays, to Oops Doughnuts letting me use their office, and everyone that came in and did a part on this show, I couldn't do it without that and I think that's a real part of what YouTube is and part of what the internet is and I think that is a really positive thing. So if people like this, that's great, if people don't like it, that's fine, too. But there are so many haters out there, who post really rude and mean comments on YouTube and I don't think it helps the film making community. And I don't think it helps creativity in general. Constructive criticism is great and I welcome that and I would be the first probably to give that kind of advice on something like Internet Icon (where Christine is a judge), but people work really hard, whether it is a two-minute YouTube video or whether it is a webseries. There's a lot of people around that, it doesn't happen because one person just turns on a camera all the time...there's a lot of people that work behind the scenes."

"Lovin' Lakin," a ten-episode mockumentary, casts the 33-year-old star as an egocentric, obnoxious version of herself that clearly couldn't be more removed from the real, laid-back Lakin. The fictional Christine -- unlike her steadily employed originator -- is a onetime child star staging a comeback. Along the way, her former co-stars and famous friends (among them Patrick Duffy, Seth MacFarlane and Kristin Chenoweth) suffer fictional Christine's comic misadventures in relaunching her celebrity. Lakin shares with Reimagine That! host Chris Mann her fond memories of playing Al Lambert, the tomboyish daughter of Duffy and Suzanne Somers in the Brady Bunch-esque Step, which ran from 1991 on 1997 as part of ABC's hugely successful TGIF sitcom lineup. (The series ran for one more season, through spring 1998, on CBS and has remained in syndication ever since.) Lakin is especially lovin' on the paternal Duffy, who she says has remained a cherished fixture in her life.

The go-getter actress explains how her new online series affords her a self-made opportunity to express herself creatively on-camera and behind-the-scenes. She also favorably compares her TV sitcom experiences to her background as a stage actress -- and muses about marrying both in her recent turn as Joanie Cunningham in Garry Marshall's Happy Days: The Musical. (Lakin, seen most recently on TV in Melissa and Joey, has also appeared in the Marshall-directed features Georgia Rule and Valentine's Day; her other feature credits include co-starring with Jamie Lee Curtis in 2010's You Again and starring opposite Paris Hilton in 2008's The Hottie and the Nottie. Comedy/sitcom fans and reality show fans will rejoice! Lovin Lakin, a new online comedy series starring Christine Lakin, premieres on Hulu and YouTube this coming Monday (July 16, 2012). Ten episodes have been produced for your enjoyment. And you don't have to wait every week to watch a new episode! All ten episodes will be available on the premiere date and for people to watch on-demand! Now that's cool! And it even has its own catchy theme song..."she's Lakin!"

If you don't know, Lovin' Lakin is an original webseries "mockumentary" following former child TV star Christine Lakin and her comeback to show business. She will be playing a fictional version of herself, because of course we know she never left show business. She has been a very steady and well respected working actress since the sitcom ended in 1998. This webseries will be a hilarious look at another version of Christine Lakin. The webseries chronicles the former Step by Step actress as she attempts to provide insight into "how to make it" in Hollywood, with episodes featuring some of her cool friends Kristen Bell, Patrick Duffy, Staci Keanan, Kyle Bornheimer, Kristin Chenoweth and Seth MacFarlane. Christine says "they will be playing a 'kind of' version of themselves. Like for example, Patrick Duffy couldn't be a nicer, sweeter, more lovely amazing human being and in his episode, I don't want to give too much away, but the entire focus of his episode is that I think he is really family and I always go to him with my problems and he can't stand me... and everybody on that show couldn't stand me and I was always so annoying, which of course is not the case, I mean he wouldn't come do the show if we didn't have a good relationship! To me, that's what's funny and that's the character I built, and the fact that everyone knows this girl, this Christine Lakin, and everybody hates her (laughs)! It makes me laugh endlessly because there is so many ways to go with it because she is just so oblivious to the fact that nobody really likes her very much!"

We talked to Christine Lakin in detail about her "mockumentary" web series and how she came up with this idea, "I was sitting around with my friend and fellow producer Dave Mahanes, and he does quite serious documentaries, and he looked at me and said, 'I would love to do something just for fun.' So he said if you ever have an idea to film something, he said he would love to work together and do something silly and I've been kind of knocking around this idea in my head that I love The Office and I love that idea of sort of a fake documentary...the device of a documentary I think is really fun and I think it provides a lot of commentary on what's happening for the actors. So I sort of had this idea and I didn't know what it was and I pitched it to him and he liked it and it just kind of blossomed from there. I knew I wanted to do a brand of comedy that was uniquely my own and sort of a storyline that is uniquely my own. So using a page from my real life, people always say that if you're going to write something, write what you know. So I went to the place I knew best, to take my real life and to completely turn it on its head and make myself a caricature and to say, 'what if this girl is someone totally different from me but lived all the same experiences that I lived?' And having left the business and wanting to make a comeback and just having no real knowledge what the business is actually like anymore and having a complete sort of over inflated view of herself. And I think that's what makes Michael Scott, the character on The Office, makes him so funny that he is so likeable but he is such a daft idiot! And I just really enjoy that sort of humor and I love that character and I follow that model a little bit for what I made myself in this webseries. And we were able to make ten episodes in several weeks because they were like five minutes a piece roughly."

She also said "I was really lucky that I have very talented and funny friends who were great improvisers so we sort of used the scripts as a template but really everybody was allowed to go sort of off the page and a lot of the greatest stuff we got was from improv. So I was really lucky in that regard." She added, "if you're going to make a documentary, there has to be a journey. I think as a mockumentary it makes it more pertinent for the character of Christine Lakin to be returning to show business because I think there has to be a sense of discovery for any character. You have to have a goal at the end, you have to have a want, a drive, that's what drives the motivation for any story. So having made it that she left the business and now she is making this grand comeback and she think it is going to go really really well and we all know from the get go that it's probably not. Given the fact that she is not very self-aware at all and times have kind of changed and the fact that she actually thinks after 10 years being out of the business that she still is America's sweetheart is hilarious because as we all know, you could leave for six months and no one would remember you, sadly. I also did this because it's sort of a tongue-and-cheek nod to the fact that I was in real life on a TV show as a child and since then I have done a lot of different things. Making this web series was definitely a chance for me to have more control and more creative autonomy, and that was probably the biggest reason I did it. I did it for me, and if other people like it, man that's the cherry on top because I love to make other people laugh."

There are ideas to bring this to television as well (like a sitcom?), depending on how this goes, but Christine says her goal was always to make people laugh and if there is a second season on television or the web, she doesn't care where as long as she can make people laugh. She says it was fun to film and she loves producing it. Christine also would love to have her Step by Step mother Suzanne Somers on the second season. She does however have some footage from that day she reunited with Suzanne Somers and Patrick Duffy at a TV dads event that she will use as easter eggs, bonus footage and bloopers for this season. She would also love to have her other co-stars from Step by Step on the show if there is a second season. She tells us there is an annual Step by Step pot-luck reunion in August at one of the producers' house and she will definitely try to recruit some of them to join her if there is a second season. And she has a few episodes already written if there is indeed a second season, such as an episode on a "child actor support group" with stars like Melissa Joan Hart, Kellie Martin, Danielle Fishel, Jaleel White and Shannen Doherty dropping by. Melissa and Kellie for sure would do it. Let's hope we get to see a second season so we can see this! Spread the word and watch the first season starting this Monday!

And Lovin' Lakin is not all for Christine! She will guest star on TONIGHT'S episode of an all-new Melissa & Joey airing at 8:00pm ET/PT on ABC Family. She made an appearance on the sitcom last season as well, but this time her character returns and wants to have a baby...and wants Joe's (Joey Lawrence) sperm! See the hilarious video promo below. In addition, she is also on another webseries, Internet Icon, which is very popular and generating traffic. Lakin also tells us that she hits the stage this fall in the Los Angeles premiere of Silence! The Musical. And if that's not all, she says she is choreographing on a Disney Channel sitcom pilot Bits & Pieces and working on more shows for Worst Audition Ever, which she created and we absolutely love. Everybody is certainly lovin' Lakin, and she deserves it!
