Small Prophets

Apple TV debuted the season one trailer for Small Prophets, the acclaimed six-episode comedy from BAFTA Award-winning creator, writer and director Mackenzie Crook (Detectorists). The series will premiere on Apple TV with the first two episodes on October 7, 2026 excluding the U.K., where it will be available to Apple TV subscribers in 2027. New episodes will premiere every Wednesday through November 4, 2026.

The series features a host of beloved comedy stars including Crook, Pearce Quigley (Detectorists), Lauren Patel (Waterloo Road), BAFTA Award winner Sir Michael Palin (Monty Python), BAFTA Award winner Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal), BAFTA Award nominee Jon Pointing (Big Boys) and SAG Award nominee Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones).

Small Prophets is a comic tale of the eccentric Michael Sleep (Quigley) who, since his darling Clea disappeared seven years ago, has lived a very ordinary life. He works in a DIY store, visits his dad Brian (Palin) and hopes for Clea to return. One day Brian shares an old recipe involving rainwater, horse manure and more than a little alchemy. With recipe in hand, Michael sets out (albeit with some skepticism) to create homunculi - magical spirits that can predict the future - in the hope they have the answer to his burning question, “will I ever see Clea again?”

Michael gets help from his young coworker Kacey (Patel), an unlikely friendship that blossoms partly (but not wholly) through their mutual dislike of store manager Gordon (Mackenzie Crook). Their friendship adds to the frustration and intrigue of his nosy neighbors (Willan, Pointing) who are obsessed with trying to find out what the hell is going on in the garden shed.

AMC Orders Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen Sitcom; Netflix's The One About Matthew Perry Documentary Series

Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen

AMC Global Media announced the greenlight of a new original series for AMC and AMC+, Happy Jack. The half-hour family comedy from AMC Studios stars Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen as a father and son. The series will start production in Los Angeles early next year on a six-episode first season and premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027.

The creative team behind the show includes writers, executive producers and co-showrunners Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who previously worked together on Two and a Half Men and The Ranch. Charlie Sheen, who plays Jack Chambers, is also an executive producer, as are Todd Christopher, The Tannenbaum Company (Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang) and 20th Television.

Happy Jack is a contemporary family comedy featuring one of America's favorite comedic actors. Charlie Sheen plays Jack, a bit of a lifelong ne'er-do-well. He's got two great daughters (though his Dad, played by Martin Sheen, deserves more credit for how they turned out). Kate runs Jack's company and keeps him on the rails while Sam is a wild child who is more like her Dad. When Sam comes home to introduce everyone to her new boyfriend, Jack's shocked to learn Paul, a former investment banker turned van life guru, is the same age as he is. Shocked at first (hypocrisy be damned), Jack soon realizes he's got a choice to make. Will he keep looking out for number one, or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters' lives?

Happy Jack will be part of the slate of original programming AMC Global Media will be presenting to international buyers at MIPCOM in October. The series will be filmed in front of a live audience at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, in the same studio where Friends was filmed.

Apple TV's 2026 Holiday Lineup; First Look at SCTV: The Greatest Show You've Never Heard Of

Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy

Apple TV is making the season merry and bright with holiday programming for the whole family, led by the all-new Peanuts special Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy, premiering Friday, November 13. In the latest special under the acclaimed Snoopy Presents banner, the Peanuts kids are on their best behavior—but Snoopy has landed on Santa’s naughty list. With just 12 days until Christmas, he sets out to prove he’s not such a bad beagle after all, discovering along the way that the season is about more than gifts.

Scored by Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Morrow, Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy features original music from an all-star lineup, including “Get Ready” by EGOT honoree John Legend, produced by multi-award winner Raphael Saadiq; “Trying To Get There” by Grammy Award winner Kamasi Washington, featuring Grammy Award winner Leon Bridges; and Grammy Award winner Laufey performing the holiday classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” produced by Spencer Stewart. Inspired by the beloved Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, the special is produced by Peanuts and WildBrain, and is executive produced by Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Logan McPherson, Paige Braddock, Chris Bracco and Mark Evestaff.

Fraggle Rock: A Holiday Gift

Also premiering this season is Fraggle Rock: A Holiday Gift, an all-new musical special from The Jim Henson Company, debuting Friday, December 4 and featuring an appearance by singer and actress Nicole Scherzinger. When Wembley is named Spirit Captain, he sets out to spread cheer throughout the Rock—but after the Fraggles unknowingly take a cherished snow globe from Doc’s workshop, the holiday spirit begins to fade. Wembley must find the courage to return it, learning that kindness, giving, and helping someone in need are the true gifts of the holidays.

The celebration continues with cherished Peanuts classics from Mendelson / Melendez Productions and Peanuts Worldwide, featuring the 60th anniversary of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, alongside A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas streaming for free on October 17–18, November 14–15 and December 12–13, respectively. This programming is available to subscribers now and every day.

And, new family film Way of the Warrior Kid, starring Chris Pratt and Linda Cardellini will premiere on Wednesday, November 25. Middle school has been a nightmare for Marc (Jude Hill), a good kid who’s bullied by his classmates and feels like he’s behind in everything, from academics to P.E. to just making friends. That changes when his injured Uncle Jake (Pratt), a decorated Navy SEAL, comes to spend the summer and recuperate with Marc and his mom, Sarah (Cardellini). To help Marc defend himself, Jake devises an ambitious program he calls “Operation Warrior Kid” based on his SEAL training. Instead of teaching his nephew how to fight, Jake shows Marc what real courage is, facing down his own demons along the way.

Viewers can also stream a festive collection of Apple TV specials, films and holiday episodes, including The First Snow of Fraggle Rock; BAFTA Award-winning The Velveteen Rabbit, based on the beloved children’s classic; Hannah Waddingham: Home For Christmas, starring the Emmy Award-winning Ted Lasso favorite; hit musical comedy Spirited, starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds and Octavia Spencer; The Family Plan 2, starring Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan; Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special; Academy Award-winning The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse; A Carpool Karaoke Christmas; and seasonal favorites from Frog and Toad, Sago Mini Friends, Eva the Owlet, Shape Island, Interrupting Chicken, Pretzel and the Puppies, The Snoopy Show and Fraggle Rock.

This candid, star-studded documentary, directed by Bob Saget and Neil Berkeley, traces his restless reinvention from smoky folk clubs to primetime sitcoms to gallery walls, told in his own words and by the friends who watched it happen, including Steve Martin, Tom Waits, David Alan Grier and others. Witty, honest and life-affirming, it's the story of a comedy icon who, as he put it, "had a hell of a ride."

AMC+ Half-Hour Drama Series Yaga Premieres October 23; Roku's Comedy Film with Kristin Cavallari

Yaga

AMC+ announced that the highly anticipated eight-episode, half-hour drama, Yaga, a spellbinding mystery thriller which reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga, is set for a two-episode premiere on Friday, October 23, exclusively in the U.S. on AMC+. New episodes will debut on Fridays, with an epic two-episode finale on Friday, November 27. Additionally, an exciting sneak peek clip was released.

Before its highly anticipated debut, the series is set to have its World Premiere on Thursday, September 17 at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a panel, revealing exclusive content, at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 9.

Yaga is based on the hit play by Kat Sandler who also serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. It follows Rapp (Noah Reid, Schitt’s Creek, The Vampire Lestat), a private investigator who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock, to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Hudson Williams, Heated Rivalry). He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo, Venom: The Last Dance, Letterkenny), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss, Matrix Films, Memento), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.

Additional cast includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, and Hiro Kanagawa, along with Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris, and Sam Krochmal.

Kristin Cavallari and Tanner Novlan

Hot off the runaway success of Roku Original The Reunion: Laguna Beach, which broke viewership and engagement records for The Roku Channel, Roku and Kristin Cavallari will reunite to bring viewers the fun new romantic comedy Cowboy Hearts. Tanner Novlan (The Bold and The Beautiful) will star opposite Cavallari. The scripted rom-com, which marks Kristin's return to a feature-film lead role after more than 17 years, will debut on The Roku Channel in early 2027 and is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios.

When a no-nonsense reality TV producer (Kristin Cavallari) is sent to Georgia to oversee the reboot of the hit dating show Cowboy Hearts, she expects chaos behind the scenes, not romantic sparks with the cowboy himself (Tanner Novlan). Now, with the cameras rolling and her job on the line, she'll have to decide if love is worth going off script.
