Acapulco Returns May 1; Iliza Shlesinger Heads to Prime Video
Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for the third season of Acapulco, the global hit bilingual comedy series starring and executive produced by Emmy and SAG Award winner Eugenio Derbez. Acapulco returns for season three with the first two episodes debuting globally on Wednesday, May 1, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through June 26. In season three of Acapulco, it's time to reconcile past mistakes and exciting new beginnings. In the present story, older Máximo (Derbez) finds himself returning to a Las Colinas he no longer recognizes. While in 1985, younger Máximo (Enrique Arrizon) continues his climb up the ladder of success while potentially jeopardizing all the relationships he's worked so hard to build. The ensemble cast includes Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Rafael Cebrián, Regina Orozco and Carlos Corona, with recurring guest stars Jaime Camil (Schmigadoon) and Cristo Fernández (Ted Lasso) joining for season three.
Critically acclaimed actress, author and comedian Iliza Shlesinger is set to release her first comedy special for Prime Video. The taping will take place at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City on November 2, and the premiere date for the one-hour special will be announced at a later date. Shlesinger will also kick off her new comedy tour, The Get Ready Tour this August. Veteran comedian Iliza is back with her seventh hour-long comedy special. As the voice of the Elder Millennial generation, she brings back her familiar physical fast paced style peppered with characters, animals and insights. From stripper heels to gorilla wives to a lesson for Gen Z, this brand-new hour is her best work yet.
In addition to her stand-up, Iliza wrote, executive produced, and starred in the feature Good On Paper, which is now streaming on Netflix. She recently co-starred in Instant Family, starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. Other past credits include Spenser Confidential, Pieces of a Woman, Truth & Iliza, and the limited-run talk show she hosted on Freeform and Forever 31, a digital series she created and starred in for ABC Digital. Iliza is the only female and youngest comedian to hold the title of NBC's Last Comic Standing, and is a frequent guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
