Fri-Yay: The Return of Brooklyn Nine-Nine; The CW Spring 2019 Schedule

by Vincent
Last night, Brooklyn Nine-Nine returned to TV screens after a long, 8 month hiatus. Of course, over that hiatus, a lot has happened - the show was briefly canceled, switched networks, and seemingly has garnered a lot of respect and attention due to the upheaval of its cancellation. Whether or not that will translate into ratings success is one question we'll soon find out the answer to, but nevertheless, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is now on a new network, with a seemingly energized group of fans eager that they haven't lost their favorite characters. And in its sixth season, I'm sure Brooklyn Nine-Nine will continue to be a delight, and will fit in like a glove on NBC.
In some ways, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has always seemed more at home on NBC than Fox. After all, Andy Samberg starred on NBC's SNL for years, Mike Schur's other comedies (Parks & Rec, The Good Place) were NBC properties, and the show is actually owned by NBCUniversal. The show just feels right on NBC, and I'm thrilled that it gets to continue on Thursday nights alongside The Good Place. I'm hoping that all of the excitement that fans had about the show, and the fact that I know a ridiculous amount of people who started watching the series over this hiatus due to all of the hype, means that Brooklyn Nine-Nine will thrive on the Peacock network, and we won't have to go through another worrying almost-cancellation. So please - tell your friends, your family and everyone you know to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, so it can have a great, long, successful run on NBC!
