SitcomsOnline Digest: Another Attempt at a Magnum P.I. Reboot?; New Warner Archive Releases for November
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! Reboots are still a big deal, and this week, it seems Magnum P.I. might be on the verge of getting one, and we're also hearing of some new Warner Archive releases. Let's get going!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- We used to talk about a new reboot idea every single week, but then it died down lately... but now, we're hearing about Magnum P.I. potentially being rebooted at CBS. (Deadline)
- While The Carmichael Show may be a thing of the past, Jerrod Carmichael is ready to move on by creating a new sitcom that will star one of his co-stars from that series. (Variety)
- A photo has been released for the first table read for the Roseanne reboot, and the character Becky was there. And so was the other Becky. (Daily Mail)
- Long before the Kardashians, there used to be a time when Fashion Police was a huge deal on E!, but 27 years later (and following the death of Joan Rivers), it just isn't working anymore and will finally come to an end soon. (US Weekly)
- Saturday Night Live invited (then presidential candidate) Donald Trump to host an episode two years ago, and former cast member Taran Killam is revealing what it was like to be there for that episode. (NPR)

- Warner Archive is moving ahead with some series that seemed to be abandoned, including The Wayans Bros. - The Complete Third Season (November 7) and Living Single - The Complete Third Season (November 21).
TUESDAY (OCTOBER 24) HOME MEDIA RELEASE
- The Jamie Foxx Show - The Complete Fourth Season (DVD, $29.99): Warner Archive brings the fourth (of five total) season of this series to DVD in this release.

Claim to Fame: Joely Fisher is the daughter of two legendary celebrities, singer Eddie Fisher and actress Connie Stevens. She also had a famous half-sister, Carrie Fisher. But that isn't what makes her famous. She first garnered sitcom success in the series Ellen, and her second wave of success came from the somewhat long running (considering how it never seemed to have many fans) Fox sitcom 'Til Death. In between, she had a few other projects, including the sitcom Normal, Ohio (a sidenote: it was a very much under-appreciated series, it was available on Hulu but no longer is). It seems that she is done with sitcoms, and we hope to see her in more. But for now, singing seems to be one of her other passions.
