Mini-DVD Review: The Best of Mr. Bean (August 29)

Last week's mini-DVD review was Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's The Boondocks. This week we take a look at A&E Home Video's The Best of Mr. Bean. Mr. Bean is of course the classic British comedy starring Rowan Atkinson. See my mini-DVD review of The Best of Mr. Bean:

The Best of Mr. Bean (A&E, $14.95) brings the best episodes from the classic British comedy series to DVD. This best-of collection is available on a single disc that contains five classic half hours (which each half hour containing three or four mini episodes). The episodes on this set are: Pilot: "Mr. Bean" (24:37), "The Return of Mr. Bean" (25:06), "The Curse of Mr. Bean" (24:44), "Merry Christmas Mr. Bean" (25:46), and "Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean" (25:26). The set even has special features. "The Story of Bean" runs 49 minutes and is produced by Universal and has clips and interviews. A&E has also included two text special features with information on Rowan Atkinson's Biography and Filmography. The menu screen has the episodes listed with Mr. Bean's theme playing (doesn't loop) and little Mr. Beans in the background. Now, the complete series came out on DVD three years ago, but this set is also a good buy because it has five of the best episodes and I think fans who don't own that set, should buy this set to see the best episodes for a cheap price. Long live the hilarious Mr. Bean!

Next week is our first anniversary! We will be celebrating it next Saturday and you can be a part of it! To find out how, click here. Also, next Saturday we will still most likely have a mini-DVD review or two, so don't worry! Expect the following sets to get mini-DVD reviews in the coming weeks: Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, Alvin & the Chipmunks Halloween, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Dick Tracy, and Pee-Wee. We also could bring you a special mini-review of a TV movie on the classic '80s sitcom Diff'rent Strokes which will premiere on NBC on Sept. 4, but we might bring you a review of it before that, if all goes well.
