Cable Reruns of 'Two & a Half Men' to FX in 2010, 'Arrested Development' to HDnet?; TCA Tour The CW

As we have reported previously of Two & a Half Men heading to Tribune locals in fall 2007, now Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution has sold the show to cable! FX is the surprise winner and will start airing the show in a 4 year deal starting in 2010. It is reported to be for $750,000 an episode. That is only behind Seinfeld's $1 million deal an episode for TBS. So, this is a historic deal. It was predicted to come to TBS, like most hit sitcoms do, but FX surprisingly picked it up. FX will also be able to air episodes online, just like the local channels deal. FX will air the show up to 12 times a week, that includes twice on weekends--so if I do the math, twice a weekday and once each day on the weekend? Two & a Half Men airs on CBS Monday nights at 9 p.m. and is currently the highest rated sitcom on television.

Mark Cuban has yet another surprise. First he brings in Dan Rather to host a news show for his HDnet channel, now he has reportedly picked-up reruns of Arrested Development, TV Week reports!
The series, which was shot in high definition, will join a roster of recently canceled prime-time series on HDnet's schedule. Mr. Cuban acquired former CBS drama Joan of Arcadia and former Showtime series Dead Like Me in April. The deal for Arrested Development was being completed last week, days after Mr. Cuban stole the spotlight from exponentially bigger networks at the Television Critics Association's semi-annual cable press tour with an announcement that veteran former CBS newsman Mr. Rather will join HDNet, which is available in about 3 million homes. (Fully distributed cable networks are available in more than 90 million homes.)

Today The CW (the new combined The WB/UPN channel) is up at the press tour. They have announced their fall premiere dates! See below:

The CW Network welcomes superstar Whoopi Goldberg in a guest appearance on the critically acclaimed comedy series Everybody Hates Chris. The announcement was made today at the network's Summer 2006 Television Critics Association Press Tour. Goldberg will appear in two episodes of Everybody Hates Chris, which premieres October 1 (7:00-7:30 p.m. ET). She will play Louise, a woman from Queens who moves in next door to Chris' (Tyler James Williams) family, and whose granddaughter is the latest object of Chris' affections.
If The CW has anything more interesting from the TCA tour, we will post it. Keep checking back, and tomorrow will mark the first of two days at the TCA tour with ABC.
