Deal or No Deal looks like it will air Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8pm and Friday, Sept. 20 at 8pm during premiere week in addition to its regular Monday and Thursday slot. NBC could opt to bring back Deal or No Deal for a third appearance each week if a new show fails, saying it would be used on a “stunt basis” two to three times per week. So we now have fall premiere dates for each network (ABC, NBC, Fox, CW) except...CBS.
In other NBC news...after its success on YouTube.com, NBC has ordered six episodes of failed pilot Nobody’s Watching from creators Bill Lawrence, Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan. NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says the network took a serious look at the show, which began as a pilot for The WB and started picking up tremendous buzz when it went on the Web, because it is produced by NBC Universal Television Studio. The network plans to put videos on the Web featuring the series’ characters, two sitcom fans taking part in a reality show, Reilly told the Television Critics Assn. press tour Friday in Pasadena, Calif. Reilly acknowledged being “very surprised” by the reaction the pilot got on YouTube and said NBC has nothing to do with putting it there. He began receiving emails about it while sailing in Mexico. NBC’s move to bring back a dead pilot passed on by another network is almost unheard of in Hollywood. It has initially attempted to clamp down on YouTube but now sees the Web site to as a way to promote some shows.
Various sources have mentioned that A Different World Season 2 DVD which was supposed to come out July 11 has been pushed back two months to September 12. We don't have any further details, but many have asked what happened to this set. I'm not sure why UrbanWorks moved it. They originally planned the set for May 30, but quickly changed it to July 11...and now that isn't happening. Fans could watch the show every Wednesday night now on Nick@Nite from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and weekends at 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. ET/PT.
