83rd Golden Globe Winners; Tubi's Upcoming YA Film Slate

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards honored the best in film and American television of 2025, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The ceremony was held Sunday night (January 11), from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with it being aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Nikki Glaser hosted the ceremony once again.
The big television winners were Adolescence with 4 wins and The Studio & The Pitt with two wins each. The Studio won for Best Television Series - Musical/Comedy. Hacks star Jean Smart won again for Best Television Actress - Musical/Comedy Series. The Studio's Seth Rogen won for Best Television Actor - Musical/Comedy Series once again. Tubi (www.tubitv.com), Fox Corporation's ad-supported streaming service, announced that it has cast its YA horror comedy Original movie Buzzkill with Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me and Sidelined 2: Intercepted), Brec Bassinger (Final Destination: Bloodlines) and Aliyah's Interlude (English Teacher). Buzzkill is currently in production.
When a group of sorority sisters find themselves trapped with a vengeful killer, party-girl Nora knows that the drunker she gets, the more her tipsy memories start revealing clues about who's murdering her friends. But she'd better hurry, or her next vodka soda might be her last call. Siena Agudong plays "Nora," a fast-talking party girl written off as the house screw-up, until her sorority sister's murder reveals she may be the only person capable of solving the crime. Using alcohol to unlock her fractured memories, Nora chases the truth, even if it destroys her. Brec Bessinger plays "Kendall," a flawless legacy queen; she is Sigma Omega Koppa perfection personified. Treating tragedy like a PR crisis, Kendell will bury anything that threatens the sorority's pristine façade. Aliyah's Interlude plays "Lexi." Allergic to all things fake, she's Sigma's resident truth-teller and her no-nonsense attitude doesn't have time for Nora's obsession with solving a murder. That is until Nora's chaotic theories turn out to actually have some real truth to them.
Buzzkill is produced by Blue Ice Pictures with Lance Samuels, Siena Agudong, Jem Garrard, Suzanne Keilly as executive producers. It most recently premiered SIDELINED 2: INTERCEPTED starring Siena Agudong and Noah Beck, Tubi's most successful Original movie, and driving an incredibly young wave of new viewers with a median age of 21.
In 2026, coming of age stories How to Lose a Popularity Contest starring Sara Waisglass (Ginny & Georgia) and Chase Hudson, and Kissing is the Easy Part starring Asher Angel (Shazam! Fury of the Gods) and Paris Berelc (Alexa & Katie) will premiere exclusively as Tubi Originals on the platform.
