Big Mouth Gets 2 More Seasons, While Human Resources Concludes; HBO Max's The Other Two Returns May 4

Big Mouth - Human Resources

Netflix announced a greenlight for the eighth and final season of Big Mouth. The two upcoming seasons, which launch in 2023 and 2024, will make Big Mouth the longest running series in Netflix history, outside of Kids & Family programming. Big Mouth is the critically-acclaimed and Emmy-winning adult animated comedy about the glorious nightmare that is puberty. Inspired by Kroll and Goldberg's childhood, it follows a group of friends and their hormone monsters as they navigate adolescence, human sexuality, and coming of age. Season six launched October 28, 2022, while seasons seven and eight will launch in 2023 and 2024.

Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources will also come to a conclusion at the end of season two, which launches in the coming months. However, the characters and stories from Human Resources will flow into the final seasons of Big Mouth.

The Other Two

HBO Max announces programming coming to the platform this May, including the premiere of the limited series White House Plumbers (5/1), which takes the audience behind-the-scenes of the Watergate scandal as Nixon's political saboteurs, E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux), accidentally topple the presidency they were zealously trying to protect... and their families along with it. The series will also have an official podcast where, over five episodes, political journalist Olivia Nuzzi will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series while investigating its balance of fact versus fiction. Hint: It's mostly fact. Set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, the next chapter of Cruel Summer follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship. Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding Y2K, the season twists and turns as it tracks the early friendship between Megan, Isabella and Megan's best friend Luke, the love triangle that blossomed, and the mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward. She is a junior, type-A overachiever with a lot of swagger. Zaara is queer and open with her sexuality. After following in his big sister Zoey's footsteps and taking on her alma mater, Andre Johnson Jr., aka Junior, makes moves to step out of his sister's shadow and become a big man on campus. The series stars Marcus Scribner, Trevor Jackson, Diggy Simmons, Daniella Perkins, Justine Skye and Tara Raani and is produced by ABC Signature. Kenya Barris, Craig Doyle, Yara Shahidi, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins and Michael Petok serve as executive producers. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her father gives her a new lease on life: She's going to "lean into" modernizing his small-town cult. The series stars Annie Murphy (Schitt's Creek), John Cho (Cowboy Bebop), Kiersey Clemons (The Flash), Stephen Root (Barry), Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.) and Christine Baranski (The Good Fight).

Mixson. Reasonable Doubt centers on Los Angeles-based high-powered criminal defense attorney Jacqueline "Jax" Stewart (Corinealdi) as she deals with past traumas, a failing marriage, motherhood and a murder case, all while trying to keep her life together. Chestnut is set to play Corey Cash, a charming, media-savvy defense attorney who often represents the underdogs. When Jax brings in Corey to help on a new high-profile case, she soon realizes that he's more shine than substance and that he's threatening her position at the firm.
