Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, we're getting a preview of what may be returning for next season, we're hearing of a new restaurant (and pilot) for Linda Lavin, and more.

We're only weeks away from hearing about the 2017-2018 TV season and the new series that will come with it, but with that, we also get to hear about which of the current TV shows will be coming back and which ones will fade off into non-existence. Linda Lavin has not been in the spotlight much in recent years, but it's returning to her as she is now much like the character Mel in real life as she owns her own restaurant, and to top it off, she may be coming back to TV if a new pilot is successful. (NY Daily News)

HOME MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS

Shout! Factory had been somewhat dormant for a while, but they've been bouncing back with lots of surprise releases and continuations lately, and their latest is the second season of Police Story, which will be released on July 25.

TUESDAY (APRIL 18) HOME MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaii Five-O - The Complete Series (DVD, $179.98): The classic police procedural drama that managed to transcend from an era of stiff police procedural dramas in 1968 to just a few years before police dramas had completely evolved into high action and expensive productions in 1980 arrives on DVD in one big 72 disc release with this set.

Who to Follow: Darien Sills-Evans (Twitter), "actor. writer. filmmaker. comedian."

Claim to Fame: The name may not seem familiar, but 42 year old Darien Sills-Evans has been acting since he was 18, beginning with a guest appearance on Law & Order. He went into a bigger role later on as he was a recurring cast member on the sitcom Cosby, where he became a regular in the final season. Currently, he plays the role of Officer James Jordan, the partner to character Katey Sagal's Officer Randy DeLuca, on the CBS series Superior Donuts.
