ABC's Dr. Ken Picked Up for Full Season; Comedy Central Orders Detroiters
ABC has picked up Dr. Ken for a full season, the first sitcom full season order of the season so far. This wasn't a surprise as it has built or held its lead-in's (Last Man Standing) adults 18-49 rating in all 3 episodes to-date. ABC has ordered the back nine episodes to be produced, bringing the multicam sitcom's order to a full 22. This is the fourth series to receive a full season order, joining dramas dramas Blindspot, Quantico and Rosewood. Doctor-turned-actor/comedian Ken Jeong (Community, The Hangover), plays Dr. Ken, a brilliant physician with no bedside manner. He is always trying to be a good doctor as well as a good husband and dad to his two kids. However, these good intentions have a way of driving everyone crazy at work and at home. Luckily, his therapist wife, Allison, is just the right partner to keep things sane. Dr. Ken stars Ken Jeong as Dr. Ken, Suzy Nakamura as Allison, Tisha Campbell-Martin as Damona, Dave Foley as Pat, Jonathan Slavin as Clark, Albert Tsai as Dave and Krista Marie Yu as Molly.
Comedy Central is heading to the Motor City as the #1 brand in comedy has ordered Detroiters to series. The 10-episode weekly, scripted series is executive produced, created and written by Sam Richardson, Tim Robinson, Joe Kelly and Zach Kanin and executive produced by Broadway Video and Jason Sudeikis. Richardson and Robinson, both natives of Detroit, will star as small-time ad men who aspire to help turn their hometown back into the glittering jewel of the Midwest that it once was. In addition to serving as an executive producer, Sudeikis will appear in a limited number of episodes as a successful automotive executive Richardson and Robinson relentlessly pursue in an effort to land their first big-time client. Monika Zielinska, Tara Schuster and Rachel Olson are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. More info to come, so stay tuned.
