SitcomsOnline Digest: Quick Rundown of Programming Updates for the Holiday Week; Actor Booth Colman Dies at Age 91

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! There isn't a whole lot of news this week since most of the news makers have the week off, so we've mostly got a rehash of some of the programming news that we've brought you already this week... but it's all great stuff! Let's get going!

  • Growing Pains returns to cable on January 1, and it is on UP TV, a network that even Kirk Cameron approves of. (SitcomsOnline)
  • Hart to Hart is making a return to cable on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, also beginning on January 1. (SitcomsOnline)
  • For those who watched The Disney Channel in the late 90s and early 00s, ABC Family is having a "throwback" to that era beginning Monday, with a marathon featuring many of the series and movies that aired on The Disney Channel at that time. (SitcomsOnline)
  • Booth Colman, who appeared as a guest star in sitcoms going all the way back to I Dream of Jeannie and My Three Sons, as well as comedies as recent as My Name is Earl, died this week at the age of 91. (Variety)

    Who to Follow: Susan Olsen (Twitter), "Mother, Artist, Writer, Radio Personality, Actress"
    Claim to Fame: There are so many child stars out there that it is hard to know when our "child star" week theme will end, and we keep coming across new ones everyday. This week, our pick is a child star from The Brady Bunch: Susan Olsen, who played youngest daughter Cindy Brady on the series. Olsen was cast as Cindy Brady at age 8, and she did not really do a whole lot of acting after that (aside from playing Cindy Brady in all but one of the Brady revivals). But just because she hasn't done a lot of acting doesn't mean that she hasn't succeeded as an adult, because in fact, she has. As an adult, she has found a new passion with creating graphic art, working as a radio talk show host, becoming an animal rights advocate, and even picking up a porn credit--but it isn't what you think, she only produced some spaceship sound effects for the movie. And she is never one to be ashamed of her Brady past, as she continues to embrace it by showing love to the fans and attending conventions for the series.
