INSP Gets Walker, Texas Ranger; ABC, Fox Mid-Season New Show Premieres
Texas-Style Justice! Walker, Texas Ranger is coming to INSP! Get ready for some karate-kicking, car-chasing action! Chuck Norris is Texas Ranger Cordell Walker, and when he zeros in on the bad guys, they won't know what hit them – literally! The Walker, Texas Ranger 12-hour Marathon kicks off Black Friday (Friday, November 28) starting at 1PM ET, as the series joins the INSP schedule. Starting December 4, Walker, Texas Ranger will air Thursdays & Fridays at 10pm & 11pm ET, part of INSP's Nightlight block. ABC announced premiere dates for Oscar winner John Ridley's groundbreaking new drama American Crime, and gripping murder mystery Secrets and Lies, starring Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis. In addition, the season finale of the hit ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder will air on Thursday, February 26 with a special two-hour finale from 9:00-11:00 PM. The 10 episode drama series Secrets and Lies premieres Sunday, March 1 with a two-hour special premiere from 9:00-11:00 PM (then it will settle to its regular time slot from 9:00-10:00 PM), and 11 episode American Crime premieres Thursday, March 5 at 10:00PM following Scandal at 9. American Crime stars Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, W. Earl Brown, Richard Cabral, Caitlin Gerard, Benito Martinez, Penelope Ann Miller, Elvis Nolasco and Johnny Ortiz. Secrets and Lies stars Ryan Phillippe, Juliette Lewis, KaDee Strickland, Natalie Martinez, Dan Fogler, Indiana Evans and Belle Shouse. More winter/spring premiere dates for ABC are to be announced.
Meanwhile, Fox is announcing winter premiere dates for new drama Empire and the return of American Idol XIV. The reality series returns with a special, two-night, three-hour premiere event Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT and Thursday, Jan. 8 from 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on Fox. Featuring host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. The epic family battle begins when the powerful new drama Empire debuts, with limited commercial interruption, on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, following American Idol XIV. From Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels (Lee Daniels' The Butler, Precious), Emmy Award winner Danny Strong (Game Change, Lee Daniels' The Butler) and Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, 24), comes a drama about a family dynasty, set within a world of music, glamour, danger and power. Featuring music by prolific producer Timbaland, the series stars Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard (Crash, Hustle & Flow) and Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson (No Good Deed, Person of Interest). Additional Fox winter/spring premiere dates and schedule details to be announced.
