Girl Meets World Gets 2nd Season; Facts of Life 35th Anniversary Reunion at PaleyFest
Disney Channel has ordered a second season of the comedy series Girl Meets World. Since its June 27 premiere, Girl Meets World has ranked as television's number one series among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14. To date, it has generated 4.7 million views on the WATCH Disney Channel app for mobile devices. Girl Meets World was created by Michael Jacobs and April Kelly and is executive-produced by Jacobs. It stars Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, August Maturo, Peyton Meyer and Corey Fogelmanis. Production resumes in Los Angeles in November. Season one introduces best friends Riley and Maya as they navigate the ups and downs of junior high; episodes include special appearances by several beloved characters from Boy Meets World, including Mr. Feeney, who guest starred in the series premiere (played by William Daniels) and Minkus (actor Lee Norris) in an episode premiering Friday, August 15. The series airs Fridays at 8:30pm only on Disney Channel.
The Facts of Life cast will reunite! The Facts of Life 35th Anniversary Reunion will be taking place on Monday, September 15 at 7:00pm at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. It will be a panel conversation with the members of the cast and creative team. No word yet on who will attend, but I'm sure we can expect the main stars of the show at the very least like Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Nancy McKeon and Charlotte Rae. The reunion is one of the highlights at this year's PaleyFest. The Paley Center for Media will present the 10th annual PaleyFest Fall TV Previews from September 6-15, 2014 at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, and September 6-7 in New York. It will feature multiple screenings in both cities, with L.A. hosting interactive panel conversations with casts and creative teams of highly anticipated new comedies and dramas premiering this fall season on ABC, CBS, the CW, FOX, and NBC. The Festival will also feature two special programs, a Fall Season Premiere: MTV's Faking It on Friday, September 12 and a Fall Flashback: The Facts of Life 35th Anniversary Reunion on Monday, September 15, as we mentioned. For ticket prices and further information on each of the programs please visit the Paley Center website: www.paleyfest.org. Stay with us for continued updates.
