Fox Renews 3 Comedies and Drama for 2014-15; Doris Day 'Day' on MeTV for Birthday on April 6
Fox has picked up Golden Globe Award winner Brooklyn Nine-Nine, along with critically acclaimed comedies The Mindy Project and New Girl, for the 2014-15 season. Psychological thriller The Following also was renewed for next season. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was picked up for a second season. The Mindy Project received a third season order, and New Girl was renewed for a fourth season. The Following was picked up for its third season. All four series have struggled in the ratings this season, but Fox has given a vote of confidence on each. As previously announced, freshman Sleepy Hollow was picked up for a second season, Glee was renewed for its sixth & final season and Bones was picked up for its tenth season - all for 2014-15. Additional pickups are still to be announced, as these are just early renewals. The rest will likely not be announced until the upfront season. Stay with us for continued updates!
Doris Day is getting her own day on The MeTV Network! In celebration of Doris Day turning 90 years old on April 3, MeTV hereby proclaims Sunday, April 6, 2014 as Doris Day 'Day.' This milestone will be marked by a special four-hour presentation of The Doris Day Show and features seven episodes that Doris personally selected as her favorites from the series. "Doris Day Day" will feature interviews and birthday wishes from her co-stars and friends. Just a few of the celebrities that will be featured in this tribute to Doris include Kaye Ballard, Bernie Kopell, Tony Bennett, Lee Meriwether and of course Rose Marie. Robert Wagner and Betty White will also extend special birthday wishes to the honoree. As part of the telecast, MeTV will help raise awareness for Doris' organization, The Doris Day Animal Foundation, which she formed in 1978. The mission of her foundation is to protect the needs of animals, and to help provide them with care and homes. MeTV will also give away copies of Doris' new book "Doris Day's Best Friends," featuring more than 200 photos of her life with animals. Proceeds from the sale of her book go toward the foundation. Please join MeTV in wishing Doris a happy 90th birthday with "The Doris Day Day" special on Sunday, April 6 from 3:00-7:00pm ET/PT. Tune in for this very special four-hour marathon of The Doris Day Show, because MeTV Network doesn't air this series regularly. It's a treat you don't want to miss!
