Happy Thanksgiving weekend, and welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! With the holiday week, not much has been happening, but we still have a somewhat busy week with news of some old things coming to streaming services, an unofficial cancellation of one of the new fall 2016 series, and more. Let's get going!

Who to Follow: Christopher Knight (Twitter), "Television icon Christopher Knight is proud to debut his line of finely crafted, budget friendly furniture for your home or business."

Claim to Fame: If you have no clue who Christopher Knight is, it may seem odd that we're featuring a furniture designer as our Follow Me this week, but you probably do know who he is if you follow this blog. Knight, of course, played Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch. He did some acting after that series ended, but in the late 80s, he managed to find employment in the tech industry that actually ended up being even more lucrative for him. While he wasn't quite a Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, he did well enough that he could never be described as a "failed" child star. But he never completely left the entertainment industry either, most notably having his own VH-1 reality show, My Fair Brady, which ran for three seasons. These days, as you can tell from his Twitter feed, he is active in furniture design.

Actress Florence Henderson, who was best known for her role as Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch, has died. She died on November 24 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, surrounded by family and friends. The cause of death was heart failure. She had been hospitalized on November 23. Ms. Henderson was 82.

Henderson's career began on stage. She performed in musicals, such as the touring production of Oklahoma! and South Pacific at Lincoln Center. Her early Broadway roles included Wish You Were Here, Fanny and The Girl Who Came to Supper.

Some of her early television guest appearances included I Spy and The U.S. Steel Hour. She was a regular on the short-lived live weekly music show Sing Along in 1958. In 1959, she co-hosted Oldsmobile Music Theatre with Bill Hayes. She was a regular guest on Tonight Starring Jack Paar from 1958-1962. Henderson became the first woman to guest host The Tonight Show in 1962 after Jack Paar left as the show's host. She was a "Today Girl", doing weather and light news on The Today Show in 1959-1960.

She starred as matriarch Carol Brady on the popular ABC sitcom The Brady Bunch, which aired for five seasons from 1969-1974. The series revolved around a large blended family with six children. It starred Robert Reed, Ann B. Davis, Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen.

Henderson reprised her Carol Brady role in many spin-offs and TV movies. The Brady Bunch Hour was a variety show, which aired on ABC from 1976-1977. The Brady Girls Get Married 1981 TV reunion movie led to the short-lived sitcom The Brady Brides. A Very Brady Christmas was the highest-rated television film of 1988. The Bradys was a short-lived drama, which aired on CBS in 1990. She performed the third version of the theme song. In 1995, she had a cameo as Grandma (Carol's mother) in The Brady Bunch Movie.

Some of her later sitcom guest appearances included The Love Boat, Police Squad!, Alice, It's Garry Shandling's Show, Day by Day (as Carol Brady), Dave's World (as Beth's mom, Maggie Colby), Roseanne, Ellen, The King of Queens, Samantha Who?, Happily Divorced, 30 Rock, Trophy Wife, Instant Mom and K.C. Undercover.

Henderson hosted her own talk show, The Florence Henderson Show, and cooking show, Who's Cooking with Florence Henderson, on Retirement Living TV (RLTV). She co-hosted the talk show Later Today on NBC from 1999-2000.

She competed on the eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars in 2010. Henderson and Maureen McCormick performed a Brady Bunch-themed number in week two of this season. She appeared in the studio audience on November 21 to support McCormick.

Survivors include her four children, daughters Barbara and Elizabeth, sons Joseph and Robert; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The Archive of American Television conducted an extensive interview with her in 1999.

Ms. Henderson was a lovely lady. She played Carol Brady to perfection. Mrs. Brady was a mother to us all. We thank her for all of the laughter and entertainment she brought us over the years. She will be deeply missed.

We have told you about some of the sitcom related marathons already in our regular news stories. Our pick of the weekend is the All in the Family 18-hour marathon today (Thanksgiving Day) that begins at 5am ET on Antenna TV! TV Land has a Laugh More-a-thon Weekend with The Andy Griffith Show airing today on Thanksgiving Day from 9am-8pm. Other TV Land marathons include The Golden Girls on Friday from 9am-5pm and Roseanne on Saturday. TBS will once again present a Friends marathon today, Thanksgiving Day, from 11am-4pm with all of the series' Thanksgiving episodes, followed by a marathon of The Big Bang Theory from 4-8pm, leading into original series Search Party from 8pm-12am. WE tv will have a marathon of Will & Grace airing from 10am-8pm today. And New York City is lucky to have a marathon of The Honeymooners for the fifth straight year on Thanksgiving, today on WPIX from 11am-3pm, sandwiched in between two airings of the movie March of the Wooden Soldiers at 9am and 3pm!

FXX is presenting "an all 600 episode" marathon of The Simpsons that will run thru Dec. 6. Starz Black has a Survivor's Remorse marathon from 11am-12am today. USA Network will present a Chrisely Knows Best marathon from 1am-11pm today. CMT will stick with the family sitcom, with a Last Man Standing marathon from 12pm-6pm. Centric will have marathons of Amen today and Family Matters Friday, both from 10am to 8pm. Ovation will have a Dharma & Greg marathon on Friday 9am-12pm. MTV2 has a sitcom fest today with Bernie Mac from 9am-11am, then a marathon of The Wayans Bros. from 11am-12am leading into Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show in late night from 12-4am. Esquire has a marathon of Parks & Recreation that begins at 7am. And Logo has a bunch of sitcoms airing as usual in blocks today, such as Green Acres and Three's Company.

Non-sitcom wise, Decades has a Hunter binge marathon all-today today, with The Streets of San Francisco tomorrow, and Police Story this weekend (Sat-Sun), as we noted. UP has the Gilmore Girls binge that runs through Friday, as we mentioned. INSP has a Bonanza Black Friday Marathon from 1pm-8pm, which is preceded by The Virginian from 7am-1pm. WGN America has a marathon of America's Funniest Home Videos beginning at 12 noon today. ION has a Blue Bloods marathon today beginning at 11am. Other notables for Thanksgiving Thursday include an Star Trek marathon on BBC America today from 6am-6am, a Back to the Future movie marathon on TNT from 10am-8pm, The Rocky Horror Picture Show will get a marathon play on IFC for nearly 24-hours beginning at 6am today, a John Wayne western movie marathon on AMC from 10am-11pm, a Z Nation marathon on Syfy from 6am-8pm, Bravo has a The Real Housewives of Orange County marathon from 6am-4pm, a Jurassic Park movie franchise marathon on Spike starting at 11am, a Criminal Minds Thanksgiving marathon on A&E starting at 8am and a Forrest Gump movie marathon on E! starting at 7:30am today and The Royals marathon on Friday from 8am-6pm. We also have many many movies marathons on networks like VH1, Freeform, Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel, Lifetime, Universal HD, and more.

On the networks tonight, there is an original special tonight: The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration on ABC from 8-10pm. CBS will have new episodes of its sitcoms from 8:30pm-10pm tonight. Feeling salty about 2017? Come sit with the cool kids in the cafeteria, where TV Land will be throwing shade all winter long with two hilarious comedies, beginning Tuesday, January 17. Season two of the Grade-A Teachers, starring the improv group The Katydids, returns at 10pm ET/PT, followed by Throwing Shade at 10:30pm ET/PT - the clever, timely, and boundary-pushing new late night series based on the popular podcast and Funny or Die web series hosted by Erin Gibson and Bryan Safi. Teachers revolves around a group of elementary school teachers who are trying to mold the minds of America's youth, but don't have their own lives together at all, and the second season will see the women facing elections, demotions and team-building exercises. "Teachers" is written by and stars The Katydids - Caitlin Barlow, Katy Colloton, Cate Freedman, Kate Lambert, Katie O'Brien and Kathryn Renée Thomas - and in season two, great guest stars pop up, including Haley Joel Osment as Mrs. Adler's husband, Ryan Hansen as Ms. Snap's rival in a school council race, Jessica St. Clair as the school counselor, and more surprising appearances and cameos by famous faces in comedy, pop culture and music, including Lisa Loeb, Coolio and more. Along with The Katydids, Alison Brie and showrunners Ian Roberts and Jay Martel executive produce the series. Matt Miller and Cap Gun Collective are also executive producers.

Throwing Shade, based on the hit podcast and Funny Or Die web series, is hosted by Erin Gibson (Emmy(R) nominated for Gay of Thrones, Parks and Recreation) and Bryan Safi (Modern Family, Superstore), who will bring their unique perspective to the hottest topics of today - from politics, feminism and gay rights to the latest celebrity nonsense - in front of a live studio audience. Gibson and Safi serve as executive producers, along with showrunner Charlie Siskel. Joe Farrell, Andrew Steele and Anna Wenger are also executive producers for Funny or Die.

Fox has made a pilot production commitment to the single camera comedy Thin Ice from Liz Meriwether. The commitment marks Meriwether's first comedy development since New Girl. The pilot is written by Meriwether, Ed Macdonald and Mark Grimmer, and executive produced by Meriwether and Katherine Pope, centers on a woman who reclaims her dreams when she finds herself at the end of the earth - in Antarctica - surrounded by a group of brilliant misfits. The project will be produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television in early 2017. If picked-up to series, it would air in 2017-18 season. But for now, this is just a pilot commitment.

COZI TV will be decking the halls and ringing in the season with two weeks of special, holiday-themed programming on the national multicast network. For the third consecutive year and running through Christmas Day, COZI TV's "Holidozi" marathon will feature holiday-themed episodes of its most iconic shows, including Frasier, Hart to Hart, Murder, She Wrote, Quantum Leap, Knight Rider, Baywatch, Make Room for Daddy, Starsky & Hutch, The Six Million Dollar Man, Adam-12 and Little House on the Prairie, among many others in their normal time periods and a special treat on Xmas Eve and Day. HBO has confirmed the February debut dates for new seasons of Girls and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and the new comedy series Crashing. Girls returns for its sixth and final season Sunday, Feb. 12 at 10:00pm ET/PT. Created by and starring Lena Dunham, the Emmy(R)-winning half-hour comedy series is a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their 20s. Dunham executive produces along with Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner, Ilene S. Landress, Murray Miller and Bruce Eric Kaplan. The cast also includes Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver returns for its fourth season Sunday, Feb. 12 at 11:00pm ET/PT. Presenting a satirical look at the week in news, politics and current events, as well as addressing broader issues, the Emmy(R)-winning half-hour show is the only weekly news-oriented comedy series to be presented on Sunday night. The comedy series Crashing debuts a week later on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 10:30 pm ET/PT. The show was created by and stars Pete Holmes as a standup comic who discovers that his wife is unfaithful, leading him to reevaluate his life amidst the New York City comedy scene. Artie Lange, Lauren Lapkus and T.J. Miller also star. Executive produced by Judd Apatow and Pete Holmes.

Alec Baldwin and Anthony Anderson are returning for new episodes of their successful game shows, both produced by FremantleMedia North America, Match Game and To Tell the Truth. This summer's game-show darlings are warming up winter with an expanded list of celebrity guest panelists. The new episodes of Match Game begin on January 4, 2017, and To Tell the Truth on January 1, 2017. Both will be giving short winter breaks to ABC dramas like Designated Survivor and Once Upon a Time. Match Game returns for season two on Wednesday, January 4 at 10:00pm EST, with Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Alec Baldwin. The series features four contestants each week vying for the chance to win $25,000, as they attempt to match the answers of six celebrities in a game of fill-in-the-missing-blank. Celebrities for the new season are still to be announced, as tapings for the winter edition just wrapped a few weeks ago.

Two-time Emmy Award-nominee Anthony Anderson is back to host a second season of ABC's hit series To Tell the Truth, premiering Sunday, January 1 at 9:00pm EST and then on Sundays from 8:00-10:00pm EST, on the ABC Television Network. The game show is a clever and funny re-imagination of the beloved game show of the same name. In its second season the show will feature a new celebrity panel for each episode. In each round, the celebrity panel is presented with three people who all claim to be the same person with the same incredible talent, job or achievement. One is sworn to tell the truth while the others are not. Anderson's mother, Doris, is also part of the fun, returning as a commentator and bringing their playful family dynamic to the stage. Panelists for season two include Tom Bergeron, Lara Spencer, Rachel Platten, Ashley Graham, Craig Robinson, David Arquette, Cheryl Burke, Jalen Rose, Iliza Shlesinger and many more.

Both shows are expected to get a short winter run and then return in the summer with other ABC hit game shows such as Celebrity Family Feud and $100,000 Pyramid.

Freeform announced the cast of scripted comedy pilot Brown Girls from writers Shilpi Roy and Nastaran Dibai. The pilot will go into production in early 2017. Hina Abdullah (The Last Ship, Young & Hungry) portrays Rimmi, a fashion-forward young woman, who's trying hard to ignore her heritage and launch her own makeup vlog. Told by her mother that she needs to connect with family friend Devi, Rimmi is put off by someone who seems to be her complete opposite. Punam Patel (Kevin From Work) stars as Devi, a traditional young woman who is new to LA. Confident, yet content with her traditional values, Devi reaches out to Rimmi upon arriving in town and is not impressed with Rimmi's quest for Internet fame. Additional cast for Brown Girls will be announced at a later date.

The pilot centers on the relationship between Rimmi, an Indian-American aspiring beauty vlogger, and Devi, a young woman who has recently emigrated from India. Brought together by family, Rimmi and Devi instantly clash over their different views on modern life and love while slowly realizing they both have something to learn from one another. Brown Girls is written by co-executive producer Shilpi Roy (Hipsterhood) and executive producer Nastaran Dibai (According to Jim), and is executive produced by Tracy Katsky, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor.
