Somebody Somewhere Returns for Final Season; Virgin River Season 6 Drops for Holiday Season

Virgin River Season 6 Returns to Netflix on December 19, 2024. Netflix announced a premiere date for the much-anticipated sixth season of Virgin River with all 10 episodes releasing globally on Thursday, December 19, right in time for the holiday binge. Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack's romantic spring wedding season, this sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel's father's past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s. The series stars Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O'Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure, and Mark Ghanime.

Everybody Still Hates Chris Premieres September 25 on Comedy Central; Final Season of Somebody Somewhere Returns in October

Comedy Central announced the premiere date of its highly anticipated adult animated series, Everybody Still Hates Chris. The reimagined series starring and executive produced by Chris Rock premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 10pm ET/PT. Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold also star alongside Tim Johnson Jr., Ozioma Akagha, Terrence Little Gardenhigh, and Gunnar Sizemore. The series is produced by CBS Studios and Chris Rock Enterprises, in association with 3 Arts Entertainment.

Everybody Still Hates Chris will feature Chris Rock as "Adult Chris," narrating stories inspired by his experience growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s. Terry Crews will voice "Julius," Chris' father who is a gentle giant with a relentless work ethic, and tightwad approach to life. He grew up dirt poor, so he knows the cost of everything down to the penny. He works two jobs to support the family, and on his days off, he takes on a third job. Tichina Arnold will voice "Rochelle," Chris' mother who is smart, strong-willed, and has a nurturing spirit, but she can also be hot-headed, especially when it comes to her kids. She tolerates zero nonsense, so she quits more jobs in a month than most people do in a lifetime.

In addition to the cast of the original series Everybody Hates Chris, Tim Johnson Jr. (Saturdays) will voice "Young Chris," a nerd who wants to be cool but he's outshined by his younger brother, tortured by his little sister, and foiled by his cheapskate dad; Ozioma Akagha (DELILAH) will voice "Tonya," Chris' feisty baby sister, with the face of an angel and the heart of a demon, who gets along with her middle brother Drew but leaps at any chance to get Chris in trouble; Terrence Little Gardenhigh (Danger Force) will voice "Drew," the golden child of the family who is the epitome of Black Excellence: handsome, athletic, a ladies man, taller and cooler than his older brother Chris; and Gunnar Sizemore (Kung Fu Panda) will voice "Greg," Chris's only friend at school who is girl-obsessed, status conscious and raised by a single dad. Everybody Hates Chris, Chris Rock's autobiographical, critically-acclaimed family series, ran for four seasons on UPN then The CW from 2005 - 2009. The series won a NAACP Image Award for its writing in 2007 and was also nominated for a Golden Globe and several Emmy Awards. All four seasons of the original series are available to stream on Paramount+.

HBO Renews Somebody Somewhere for a Third Season; Remembering Marlene Clark of Sanford and Son and Other Sitcom Stars We Recently Lost

HBO announced that the critically acclaimed comedy series Somebody Somewhere has been renewed for a third season. From Mighty Mint, Duplass Brothers Productions, and creators and executive producers Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, the series follows Sam (played by Bridget Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam's saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't fit in but don't give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere. Season two reminds us that families are hard, even the fun ones. Sam and Joel (Jeff Hiller) have settled into a comfy routine. But nothing stays the same forever.

Actress and fashion model Marlene Clark, who played Janet Lawson on Sanford and Son, has died. She died on May 18 in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Clark was 85.

Clark had a recurring role as Janet Lawson, Lamont Sanford's (Demond Wilson) girlfriend, in six episodes of the NBC sitcom Sanford and Son from 1976 to 1977. Janet Lawson is a divorcee Lamont begins dating in the fifth season. Janet also has a young son, Roger (Edward Crawford). The Lawsons appear occasionally until Lamont and Janet break up in the sixth and final season, due to the return of Janet's ex-husband.

Some of her other sitcom guest appearances included The Bill Cosby Show, The Governor & J.J., What's Happening!! and Head of the Class (1988).

Some of her drama guest appearances included Marcus Welby, M.D. (1970), The Immortal, Bonanza, Mod Squad (2 episodes), McCloud, The Rookies, Barnaby Jones, Flamingo Road and Highway to Heaven.

Clark starred as Ganja Meda in the 1973 horror film Ganja & Hess. Some of her other film credits included Slaughter (1972), Night of the Cobra Woman (1972) and The Beast Must Die (1974).

Ms. Clark was funny and memorable as Janet Lawson on Sanford and Son. It would have been nice to see her in more episodes. She died on the same day as her Slaughter co-star, Jim Brown. She will be deeply missed.

Actor John Beasley, who starred as Barton Ballentine on The Soul Man, has died. He died on May 30 at a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Beasley was 79.

Beasley starred as Barton Ballentine on the 2012-2016 TV Land sitcom The Soul Man. He was a main cast member for the first season before recurring for seasons 2-5. Barton Ballentine is Reverend Sherman Boyce Ballentine's (Cedric the Entertainer) and Fletcher Emmanuel "Stamps" Ballentine's (Wesley Jonathan) father. He is a retired minister who now serves on the church Board of Elders, often to Boyce's annoyance. The series also starred Niecy Nash and Jazz Raycole.

He starred as Irv Harper on the 2002-2006 The WB drama Everwood. Some of his drama guest appearances included Brewster Place (4 episodes), Angel Street, The Untouchables (1993) (2 episodes), EZ Streets, Early Edition (2 episodes), The Pretender (2 episodes), Millenium (3 episodes), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2 episodes), Judging Amy (3 episodes), NCIS, Boston Legal, CSI: Miami, Harry's Law, Detroit 1-8-7, Treme (4 episodes), Shots Fired (6 episodes as Mr. Dabney), The Resident, The Mandalorian and Your Honor. He guest starred as John 'Briefcase' Jefferson in a 2011 episode of Tyler Perry's House of Payne.

Beasley starred as Coach Warren in Rudy (1993). Some of his other film credits included The Mighty Ducks (1992), The Apostle (1997), The General's Daughter (1999), The Sum of All Fears (2002), Walking Tall (2004), The Purge: Anarchy (2014) and Sinister 2 (2015).

Mr. Beasley was a talented and versatile character actor. He was a familiar face in many TV series and films. He will be greatly missed.

Actor, writer and executive producer Michael Norell, who starred as Captain Henry "Hank" Stanley on Emergency!, has died. He died on May 12 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Mr. Norell was 85.

Norell starred as Captain Henry "Hank" Stanley on the 1972-1977 NBC action-adventure medical drama Emergency!. The Jack Webb-produced series also starred Robert Fuller, Julie London, Bobby Troup, Randolph Mantooth, Kevin Tighe, Tim Donnelly, Mike Stoker, Marco Lopez, Ron Pinkhard and Vince Howard.

He also wrote four episodes of Emergency! from 1974 to 1977. Some of his other television writing credits included The Love Boat (12 episodes), Love Boat: The Next Wave, The Magnificent Seven (1998-2000) (2 episodes) and Nash Bridges (6 episodes). He created and was executive producer for the 1981 ABC short-lived The Love Boat clone Aloha Paradise, which starred Debbie Reynolds and Bill Daily.

Mr. Norell was memorable as Captain Henry "Hank" Stanley. We thank him for his work as an actor, writer and executive producer. He will be sorely missed.

We also remember Japanese-American actress Eileen Saki. She played the bar owner Rosie on M*A*S*H. She died from pancreatic cancer in Los Angeles on May 1. Ms. Saki was 79.

Saki was the final and longest-running actress to play Rosie, proprietor of Rosie's Bar, on M*A*S*H. She appeared in eight episodes as Rosie from 1979 to 1981. She also had a small but memorable role in the season 5 premiere episode ("Bug Out") as the head Madam of a coquettish group of prostitutes.

Her other sitcom guest appearances included Good Times and Gimme a Break!. Some of her other television guest appearances included CHiPs, The Greatest American Hero, Sidekicks and Without a Trace.

She played Dr. Fujimoto in Splash (1984).

British-born American television host and actor Jerry Springer was best known for hosting the sometimes controversial tabloid talk show Jerry Springer from 1991 to 2018. He died on April 27 at his home in Evanston, Illinois. A family spokesperson said that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months prior to his death. Mr. Springer was 79.

He was also the host of America's Got Talent from 2007 to 2008, and of the courtroom show Judge Jerry from 2019 to 2022.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included Married... with Children, Roseanne, Night Stand (2 episodes), The Steve Harvey Show, The Wayans Bros., The Simpsons (voice), Love Boat: The Next Wave, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Malcolm & Eddie, Suddenly Susan, Son of the Beach, George Lopez (2 episodes) and Are We There Yet?. Some of his other television guest appearances included The X-Files, Early Edition, V.I.P., Days of Our Lives and Happy! (2017).

Actress and writer Garn Stephens starred as Harriet Hastings on Phyllis. She died on April 2 in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Stephens was 78.

Stephens starred as Harriet Hastings in the second season the CBS sitcom Phyllis. Harriet Hastings is Phyllis Lindstrom's (Cloris Leachman) co-worker. Like Leonard Marsh (John Lawlor), Harriet does not have a very friendly relationship with Phyllis.

Some of her sitcom guest appearances included All in the Family, Barney Miller, Family Ties, Foley Square and Have Faith. Some of her other other television guest appearances included Charlie's Angels, Falcon Crest and Quantum Leap (1993).

She received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series for her work on a 1983 episode of St. Elsewhere. Her other writing credits included Trapper John, M.D. (2 episodes), Hotel and Trial by Jury.

Her feature film credits included The Sunshine Boys (1975) and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982).

Writer Douglas Tibbles worked on The Munsters and My Three Sons. He died on April 12. Mr. Tibbles was 83.

Tibbles was credited as a writer for 12 episodes of The Munsters and 34 episodes of My Three Sons. Some of his other sitcom writing credits included Family Affair (2 episodes), The Andy Griffith Show (5 episodes), Bewitched (2 episodes), Room 222, The Doris Day Show (2 episodes), Love, American Style (5 episodes), Chico and the Man (1 episode), Hello, Larry (2 episodes) and The New Gidget.

Actor Michael Lerner starred as Mel Horowitz on Clueless. He died of complications from brain seizures at a hospital in Burbank, California, on April 8. Mr. Lerner was 81.

Lerner starred as Mel Horowitz, the father of Cher Horowitz (Rachel Blanchard), in the first season (1996-1997) of Clueless. Doug Sheehan played Mel Horowitz in seasons two and three. The sitcom aired on ABC for the first season before moving to UPN for seasons two and three.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included The Good Guys (2 episodes), The Brady Bunch, The Doris Day Show (2 episodes), That Girl, The Bob Newhart Show, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1973), Love, American Style (1974), M*A*S*H, The Odd Couple, Rhoda, Entourage, Suburgatory, Childrens Hospital and Maron.

He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Jack Lipnick in Barton Fink (1991). Some of his other film credits included Eight Men Out (1988), Amos & Andrew (1993), No Escape (1994), The Beautician and the Beast (1997), Godzilla (1998), Elf (2003) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

Actress and writer Judy Farrell played Nurse Able on M*A*S*H. She died from complications of a stroke at a hospital in West Hills, Los Angeles on April 2. Ms. Farrell was 84.

Farrell appeared as Nurse Able in eight episodes of M*A*S*H from 1976 to 1983. She was married to Mike Farrell (B.J. Hunnicutt) from 1963 until they divorced in 1983.

She appeared as Charlotte Miller in four episodes of the first season of Fame from 1982 to 1983. She also wrote an episode of the series in 1983. She later wrote 13 episodes for the soap opera Port Charles.

Some of her other sitcom guest appearances included Get Smart, Room 222, The Partridge Family and Benson. Some of her other television credits included Judd for the Defense (2 episodes), Medical Center (2 episodes) Emergency! and Quincy, M.E. (3 episodes).

Actor Lance Reddick was best known for playing Cedric Daniels in The Wire (2002–2008), Phillip Broyles in Fringe (2008–2013), and Chief Irvin Irving in Bosch (2014–2020). He died from heart disease on March 17 at his home in Studio City, California. Mr. Reddick was 60.

Reddick was also known for portraying Detective Johnny Basil in Oz (1997–2003), Matthew Abaddon in Lost (2004–2010), and Albert Wesker and his clones in the Netflix series Resident Evil (2022).

He starred as Christian DeVille on the 2018-2020 Comedy Central sitcom Corporate. Corporate is set in multinational corporation Hampton DeVille and follows the miserable lives of two downtrodden employees.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included The Nanny, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Wilfred and Young Sheldon.

In film, he was best known for starring as Charon in the John Wick franchise (2014–2023) and as General Caulfield in White House Down (2013).

Actress Barbara Bosson was best known for her role as Fay Furillo on the NBC police drama Hill Street Blues, for which she was consecutively nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards. She died in Los Angeles on February 18. Ms. Bosson was 83.

Bosson starred as Captain C.Z. Stern on the 1987-1989 ABC comedy-drama Hooperman. The show centered on the professional and personal life of San Francisco police Inspector Harry Hooperman, played by John Ritter. It also starred Deborah Farentino (1987-1988), Clarence Felder, Sydney Walsh, Joseph Gian, Felton Perry, Alix Elias, Paul Linke (1988-1989) and Rod Gist (1988-1989).

She starred as Sharon Deterson on the short-lived 1978 NBC detective drama Richie Brockelman, Private Eye. In 1990, she starred as Mayor Louise Plank on the ABC police procedural musical television series Cop Rock. She starred as Miriam Grasso on the 1995-1997 ABC legal drama Murder One. She received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1996 for the role.

Bosson starred as Jane Rogan, Alex Rogan's (Lance Guest) mother, in the science fiction film The Last Starfighter (1984).

Actress Kristina Holland starred as Tina Rickles on The Courtship of Eddie's Father. She provided the voice of Alice Boyle in the animated series Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. She died on February 22. Ms. Holland was 78.

Holland had a recurring role as Tina Rickles, secretary to Tom Corbett (Bill Bixby), on the 1969-1972 ABC sitcom The Courtship of Eddie's Father. The series also starred Brandon Cruz, Miyoshi Umeki and James Komack.

She provided the voice of Alice Boyle in the 1972-1974 first-run syndicated animated sitcom Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. The show features Harry Boyle, wife Irma, daughter Alice, and sons Chet and Jamie. The voice cast included Tom Bosley, Joan Gerber, David Hayward, Jackie Haley and Jack Burns.

Some of her sitcom guest appearances included Here Come the Brides (2 episodes), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, The Doris Day Show, Make Room for Granddaddy (1970), Love, American Style (3 episodes), The Girl with Something Extra, The Bob Newhart Show (2 episodes) and Good Heavens.

She provided the voice of April Stewart in the animated series The Funky Phantom (1971-1972) and the voice of Stephanie in the animated series Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids (1973).

Holland performed in more than 22 television series, two films, and provided voiceover talent for at least two video games. She later worked as a professional psychotherapist in California.

We thank them for the laughs and entertainment they brought us on their sitcoms and other television work. They will be greatly missed.

NBC Renews 3 Sitcoms, Cancels 2; CBS and The CW Hand Out Orders & Pink Slips; Remembering Mike Hagerty and Sitcom Producer/Writer George Yanok

NBC has ordered renewals for three of its comedies: Young Rock for a third season and American Auto and Grand Crew for their respective second seasons. Young Rock stars Dwayne Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, John Tui, Fasitua Amosa and Matthew Willig. American Auto stars Ana Gasteyer, Harriet Dyer, Jon Barinholtz, Humphrey Ker, Michael B. Washington, Tye White and X Mayo. Grand Crew stars Nicole Byer, Justin Cunningham, Aaron Jennings, Echo Kellum, Grasie Mercedes and Carl Tart. Separately, NBC has passed on new seasons of Kenan and Mr. Mayor along with freshman drama The Endgame.

Meanwhile, CBS has canceled three sitcoms and two dramas. Sitcoms United States of Al, How We Roll and B Positive have been canceled. Dramas Magnum P.I. and Good Sam have also been canceled. They have ordered three new dramas so far: Fire Country, East New York and So Help Me Todd. Stars for Fire Country: Max Thieriot, Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer. East New York stars Amanda Warren, Kevin Rankin, Jimmy Smits, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Richard Kind, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Lavel Schley and Olivia Luccardi. And So Help Me Todd stars Marcia Gay Harden, Skylar Astin, Madeline Wise, Tristen J. Winger, Inga Schlingmann and Rosa Arredondo. CBS potentitally will pick-up one more new drama for midseason consideration, but they have passed on all of their new comedy pilots.

The CW made a lot of cancelations. Newbies 4400 and Naomi along with vets Charmed, Dynasty, Legacies, Roswell New Mexico and In the Dark. The latter two still has to air a full new season of episodes starting in June. Batwoman and DC's Legends of Tomorrow were also canceled a few weeks ago, while All American: Homecoming has been renewed. The CW has picked-up three new dramas. Gotham Knights, starring Anna Lore, Fallon Smythe, Misha Collins, Navia Robinson, Olivia Rose Keegan, Oscar Morgan, Rahart Adams and Tyler DiChiara star. Walker: Independence, a prequel, starring Katherine McNamara, Matt Barr, Gabriela Quezada, Greg Hovanessian, Justin Johnson Cortez, Katie Findlay and Lawrence Kao. And finally, Supernatural prequel The Winchesters stars Drake Rodger, Meg Donnelly, Bianca Kajlich, Demetria McKinney, Jojo Fleites and Nida Khurshid also star while Jensen Ackles narrates as Dean Winchester.

ABC and Fox have not announced new series orders yet, however ABC has canceled current freshman dramas Queens and Promised Land. Stay tuned for the upfronts next week!

Actor Mike Hagerty (sometimes credited as Michael G. Hagerty) has died. He was known for playing comedic blue-collar workers, including his recurring roles as Mr. Treeger, the building superintendent, on Friends and the manager of a muffler shop on HBO's Lucky Louie. He died on May 5 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering from a seizure. His seizure was caused by an adverse reaction to antibiotics he was taking for an infection in his leg. Mr. Hagerty was 67.

Hagerty starred as Finley on the short-lived 1993 CBS sitcom The Building. Finley is a one-time firefighter who runs the nearby bar/hangout called G&L Fire Escape in Chicago. The series also starred Bonnie Hunt, Richard Kuhlman, Don Lake, Tom Virtue and Holly Wortell.

He starred as Frank MacNamara on the short-lived 1994-1995 FOX sitcom The George Carlin Show. Frank MacNamara is a working-class regular at The Moylan Tavern. He is a good-natured drinker with a beer belly to show for it. The cast included George Carlin, Alex Rocco, Anthony Starke, Paige French, Christopher Rich, Susan Sullivan, Matt Landers and Phil LaMarr.

Hagerty starred as Mike, the manager of a muffler shop and Louie's (Louis C.K.) employer and friend, on the 2006 HBO sitcom Lucky Louie. The cast included Pamela Adlon, Kelly Gould, Laura Kightlinger, Jerry Minor, Kim Hawthorne, Rick Shapiro and Jim Norton.

He had recently been filming and starring as Ed Miller on the 2022 HBO comedy-drama Somebody Somewhere. Ed Miller is Sam's (Bridget Everett) father and a farmer. The cast includes Jeff Hiller, Mary Catherine Garrison, Danny McCarthy, Murray Hill, Jane Drake Brody, Jon Hudson Odom and Heidi Johanningmeier.

Hagerty had a recurring role as Mr. Treeger, the building superintendent, on five episodes of NBC's Friends from 1995 to 2001.

Warshawski (1991), Wayne's World (1992), So I Married an Axe Murderer (1992), Stuart Saves His Family (1995), Space Truckers (1996) and Speed 2: Cruise Control. He was in a deleted scene in Uncle Buck (1989).

He is survived by his wife Mary Kathryn, his sister Mary Ann Hagerty, (and) her wife Kathleen O’Rourke, and their daughter Meg.

Mr. Hagerty was a talented and dependable character actor who was known for his mustache and thick Chicago accent. He was a familiar face in more than 100 TV series and films. We thank him for the many laughs and entertainment that he brought us during his career. He will be sorely missed.

Emmy-winning producer and director George Yanok, who worked on Welcome Back, Kotter, has died. He died on April 29 in Nashville, Tennessee. He suffered from lung cancer in the 18 months leading up to his death. Mr. Yanok was 83.

Yanok was a producer on Welcome Back, Kotter from 1976 to 1977. He received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1976 for his work. Some of his other sitcom producing credits included The Kallikaks, Tabitha, The Stockard Channing Show, Teachers Only, Too Close for Comfort, What a Country! and Out of This World.

He was one of the original writers of Hee Haw. Some of his sitcom writing credits included The Bob Newhart Show (1972), Love, American Style (2 episodes), Sanford and Son (2 episodes), The Practice (1976), The Kallikaks, Welcome Back, Kotter, (8 episodes - he also appeared as Mr. Ferguson in "Career Day"), Tabitha (2 episodes), The Stockard Channing Show (5 episodes), Teachers Only (4 episodes), 1st & Ten, Too Close for Comfort (8 episodes), What a Country! and Out of This World (3 episodes).

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Laura, his stepdaughter Katie Hill and his stepson John.

Mr. Yanok won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy, Variety or Music and Outstanding Comedy Series in 1974 and 1976, in recognition of his work on the comedy special Lily (1973) and The Lily Tomlin Special (1975). We thank him for his work on television. He will be greatly missed.

Somebody Somewhere Renewed for 2nd Season; FXX Turns Dicktown Into Own Series

HBO announced that the critically acclaimed comedy series Somebody Somewhere has been renewed for a second season. Starring and executive produced by comedian and singer Bridget Everett, the seven-episode first season debuted January 16, with new episodes airing weekly on HBO and HBO Max. The season one finale debuts on February 27. From Mighty Mint, Duplass Brothers Productions, and creators & executive producers Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen (writers on HBO's High Maintenance), the series follows Sam (played by Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam's saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't fit in but don't give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere. Season one stars Everett alongside Jeff Hiller (Nightcap), Mary Catherine Garrison (HBO's Veep), Danny McCarthy (The Ballad of Buster Scroggs), and Mike Hagerty (HBO's Lucky Louie). Recurring cast includes Murray Hill (Welcome to Flatch), Jon Hudson Odom (HBO's Lovecraft Country), Heidi Johanningmeier (100 Days to Live), and Jane Brody (Chicago Fire).

FX has set the premiere date for Dicktown, the half-hour animated comedy series created, written and directed by John Hodgman and David Rees. The new season of Dicktown will premiere Thursday, March 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FXX and stream on Hulu. The premiere and the four subsequent episodes on Thursdays will each feature two 15-minute segments. John Hunchman was once the famous boy detective of Richardsville, North Carolina (DICKTOWN, to the locals), but now he's pushing 40 and still solving mysteries for teens. David Purefoy, his former bully, is now his driver, muscle and only friend. Between chasing down stolen pimento cheese recipes and high school mascots gone rogue, John and David never stop trying to solve the biggest mystery: how to grow up. But when a menacing figure roars into their lives on a weird motorcycle-car, they learn the past isn't done with them yet. The first season of Dicktown was part of season three of FX's Cake and is now streaming on Hulu.

HBO Max Announces January Slate; New Campaign for 2022 Includes Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and The Flight Attendant Season 2

HBO Max has announced its January offerings along with more on what's to come in 2022. In January, join Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and other esteemed cast members and filmmakers across all eight Harry Potter films, as they travel back to Hogwarts for the first time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise's first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The retrospective special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (1/1) will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time. New superhero series Peacemaker (1/13) explores the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn's 2021 film, The Suicide Squad - a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

An incredible collection of original programming arrives this January including the highly anticipated second season of HBO's Euphoria (1/9). Created, written and directed by Sam Levinson, starring Emmy(R) winner Zendaya, and produced in partnership with A24, the drama series follows 17-year-old Rue as she finds hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction. The month also brings new drama series The Gilded Age (1/24) from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, the second season of comedy The Righteous Gemstones (1/9), the season premiere of the original comedy series Somebody Somewhere (1/16), the final season of accliaimed comedy Search Party (1/7), the season premiere of Take Out with Lisa Ling (1/27), and the season finale of Station Eleven (1/13). SXSW multiple-award-winning feature The Fallout, debuts on HBO Max in January starring Jenna Ortega, Maddie Ziegler and Niles Fitch. Following a year marked by groundbreaking hits, the spot signifies HBO Max's continued commitment to deliver audiences fresh and imaginative content, featuring bold, iconic characters from the world's best creators - all in one place. Among the exciting line-up are new HBO Originals in the line-up include Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, a fast-break series chronicling the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, one of sports' most revered and dominant dynasties and House of the Dragon, telling the story of House Targaryen 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Viewers can also spot never-before-seen footage from anticipated titles including new Max Original series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Julia, Love & Death and new HBO Originals The Time Traveler's Wife, The White House Plumbers and We Own This City.

First looks are also included from acclaimed returning HBO Originals Westworld, His Dark Materials and The Nevers, and Max Originals The Flight Attendant and Raised by Wolves. Additionally, the spot introduces Warner Bros. Streaming Exclusives, a collaboration that includes a number of films made exclusively for HBO Max. House Party, Father of The Bride, Kimi, The Fallout, Scoob: Holiday Haunt and Moonshot are among the films set to debut throughout 2022.

Rewind TV January 2022 Schedule Includes Drew Carey, NewsRadio; HBO's Somebody Somewhere Premieres Jan. 16

Earlier this week we gave you the new January 2022 schedule for Antenna TV, now we have the new schedule for companion network Rewind TV! Four new series join the line-up: The Drew Carey Show, Suddenly Susan, NewsRadio and The John Larroquette Show, while My Two Dads is coming soon. Antenna TV's It's a Living also joins the Rewind TV line-up. The new line-up begins on Monday, January 3, 2022. Starting on the weekday schedule, most timeslots will have a change. It's a Living joins the schedule airing 5-6am, followed by Head of the Class, 227, Growing Pains from 6-9am. Who's the Boss? moves to the 9am hour leading into Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Mork & Mindy from 10am-12pm. The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes remain in their 12pm-2pm time period. 227 now will air at 2pm, replacing Dear John, which will also air on Antenna TV. The after school family block features The Hogan Family, Growing Pains, Who's the Boss? and Family Ties from 3pm-7pm!

In primetime,'90s hits take over with Wings, The Drew Carey Show, Becker and NewsRadio from 7pm-11pm, leading into late fringe block of Designing Women and Murphy Brown from 11pm-1am. More '90s hits take over from there with Caroline in the City at 1am and Suddenly Susan at 2am, followed by encores of Wings and The Drew Carey Show from 3-5am. Weekends will now have a different line-up than weekdays, and will feature two-hour binges of your favorite Rewind TV sitcoms! On Saturdays, The Facts of Life airs 5-7am and 9pm-11pm, Diff'rent Strokes airs 7-9am and 11pm-1am, Murphy Brown airs 9-11am, Designing Women airs 11am-1pm, Caroline in the City airs 1pm-3pm, Suddenly Susan airs 3pm-5pm, Sabrina the Teenage Witch airs 5pm-7pm, Mork & Mindy airs 7pm-9pm, Head of the Class airs 1am-3am and Family Ties airs 3am-5am. HBO Orders Bridget Everett Comedy Series; Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Cast to Reunite on YouTube

HBO has given a series order to Somebody Somewhere, a comedy starring and executive produced by Bridget Everett (Patti Cake$). Hannah Bos (HBO's High Maintenance) & Paul Thureen (Driveways) created the show and will serve as executive producers, along with Carolyn Strauss (HBO’s Chernobyl), Patricia Breen (HBO's Betty), and from HBO's upcoming fourth and final season of Room 104, Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, Mel Eslyn and Tyler Romary. A production from The Mighty Mint/Duplass Brothers Productions, Jay Duplass directed the pilot last year on location in Chicagoland. For all its vast plains and endless prairies, Kansas can feel confining for someone like Sam Miller. Inspired by the life of comedian and singer Bridget Everett, Sam (played by Everett) is a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggles to fit the hometown mold. As she grapples with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders that don’t fit in but don’t give up.
