The Ms. Pat Show Renewed for Season 6; SisterS Returns April 22 on AMC+, Acorn TV and IFC TV

BET and Paramount+ announced the sixth season renewal of its multi-Emmy(R)-nominated comedy The Ms. Pat Show starring Creator, Comedian, Actress and Executive Producer Patricia "Ms. Pat" Williams-Lee. The upcoming season will be among the first BET originals to stream on Paramount+, which becomes the new streaming home for BET content beginning in June, bringing the beloved series to a global platform with nearly 80 million subscribers. In conjunction with the hit series, Pat has headlined three seasons of her unscripted court show Ms. Pat Settles It, along with additional television and film projects across the Network.
Since its debut in August 2021, The Ms. Pat Show, co-created by Williams-Lee and Tony Award nominated Actor and Playwright Jordan E. Cooper, has earned critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase for its fearless, unfiltered storytelling. Inspired by Williams-Lee's life and her NAACP Image Award nominated memoir Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat, the groundbreaking R-rated sitcom follows a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom. The series showcases the matriarch navigating life with her outspoken, multi-generational African American family. Across five seasons, the series has boldly reimagined the traditional sitcom format, blending sharp comedy with cultural commentary while tackling complex topics including addiction, abortion, racism, sexual abuse, trans issues, immigration, generational trauma, non-binary pronouns, Black hair, school shootings and systemic inequities, all delivered with Ms. Pat's signature humor and unapologetic candor.

Peacock's Twisted Metal Drops in July; IFC Dark Comedy SisterS Launching May 17

Peacock has released the teaser and premiere date for upcoming original series, Twisted Metal. Series comes from Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television. The live-action comedy series will premiere exclusively on Peacock July 27, 2023. Twisted Metal has the cars, it has the weapons, and it has the battles. But what it also has are people. I know you will fall in love with these characters and what drives them, no pun intended (okay, maybe a little intended). You will cheer for our charismatic hero John Doe, played by Anthony Mackie, as he drives across the Divided States of America in search of a place to belong. You’ll laugh as an enigmatic woman named Quiet, played by Stephanie Beatriz, throws John’s world for a loop after a chance encounter, forcing the two together and changing both their lives for the better. You will root for our heroes to take down psychotic highway patrolman Agent Stone, played by Thomas Haden Church, who sees the world in black and blue. And you’ll discover a surprising soulfulness to our deranged, murderous clown Sweet Tooth, voiced by Will Arnett and performed by Joe Seanoa aka wrestler Samoa Joe.
Twisted Metal, starring Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, with Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

Highly anticipated dark comedy SisterS is set to premiere on IFC on Wednesday, May 17 at 11pm ET/PT, with new episodes airing weekly. The full season will be available to binge on Sundance Now and AMC+ the same day. Starring Emmy(R) nominee Sarah Goldberg (Barry) and Susan Stanley (Fair City), the witty six-episode season marks the writing debut of the real-life best friends.
In Toronto, Canada, Sare's (Goldberg) mother dies. In the aftermath of her death, she discovers that her father was not her actual father, he was in fact, an Irish busker her mother met while backpacking some thirty years ago. She decides to travel to Ireland to track him down, only to discover she has a half-sister. Meanwhile in Dublin, Suze's (Stanley) life is unravelling - she's lost her partner, her flat, her job... and not to mention - her dignity. On her 37th birthday, her life takes an unexpected turn, when her Canadian half-sister shows up. Sare convinces a reluctant Suze to embark on a road trip across Ireland to find their alcoholic father. Confined by the four walls of a crumbling ice cream van, it's a baptism of fire for these sisters. They forge an unbreakable bond as they discover sometimes it's the family you choose that can carry you through. The series also features (alphabetically): Harki Bhambra (This Is Going to Hurt), Liam Carney (Harry Wild), Frank Laverty (The Virtues), Donal Logue (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit), Rory Nolan (Foundation) Darragh Shannon (Wolf), Pat Shortt (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Sophie Thompson (Sex Education).

Kudrow's The Comeback to Make a Comeback on HBO; Bounce Brings Back Family Time and Adds 2 More Sitcoms
A comeback is happening for The Comeback after nearly a decade. "B level" TV star Valerie Cherish was a pioneer of reality television. Now, it's ten years later - there's more TV than ever and she wants back in. Lisa Kudrow (Emmy(R) winner for Friends) returns to star as the embattled Valerie Cherish, a fading TV "It Girl" who was once so desperate to stay in the spotlight that she allowed cameras to follow her every move as she appeared on a new sitcom - with disastrous results. When the comedy series The Comeback returns as a new six-episode limited series this fall, exclusively on HBO, Valerie thinks she has it all figured out this time. She doesn't. Scheduled to begin production in Los Angeles this month, the show was created by Michael Patrick King (Emmy(R) winner for HBO's Sex and the City) and Lisa Kudrow, who will serve as executive producers along with producing partner Dan Bucatinsky (Emmy(R) winner for Scandal).
The first season of The Comeback, which debuted in 2005 on HBO, explored the madness of television, a Beverly Hills lifestyle, the dual roles of wife and stepmom, the trouble with growing older in Hollywood, and the bravery of a comic-tragic 40-year-old actress who was desperate to look like she was keeping her head above it all. The series was singled out by both TIME and Entertainment Weekly as one of the ten best shows of the decade. In the new episodes, Valerie continues her search to attain the spotlight, but this time around, it illuminates a whole new series of problems when she achieves the visibility she wants.
Bounce TV has renewed the half hour situation comedy Family Time created by Bentley Kyle Evans (The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Love That Girl!) for a second season. The first season ended in summer 2012, so after two years this show will return to production. Family Time centers around the life and times of The Stallworths, a working class African American family who wins the lottery and jumps from the 'hood to "all good" overnight. This family-next-door consists of two loving parents: Anthony (Omar Gooding) and Lisa (Angell Conwell) Stallworth and their children Ebony (Jayla Calhoun) and Devin (Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr.). Trenton Gumbs (Love That Girl!) serves as a producing partner and season two premieres Fall 2014. In addition, Bounce TV has ordered two new sitcoms. The first is Mann & Wife. Husband and wife team David Mann (Madea's Big Happy Family) and Tamela Mann (Sparkle), stars of the hit Tyler Perry sitcom Meet The Browns, reunite for a new show which series creator and director Roger Bobb (The Rickey Smiley Show) calls "a black Brady Bunch." The new sitcom will premiere in Winter 2015. Casting is to be announced. And finally, new sitcom Sisters is an all-new original sitcom centered around a once-famous R&B group called the "Ladies of Essence" who, after life has thrown each of them a few curve balls, find themselves fabulous, forty and forced to live under the same roof. Produced by Roger Bobb's BobbCat Films, Terri J. Vaughn and Cas Siger's Nina Holiday Entertainment and Chip Hurd, this sitcom will premiere in Summer 2015.
