SitcomsOnline Digest: Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Renewed for Season 2; Cops and Live PD Cancelled
- With nobody knowing when the "fall season" will begin, it seems that pilot season is being extended indefinitely. (Deadline)
- Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist has gotten a renewal for a second season at NBC. (Deadline)
- We mentioned last week that Live PD and Cops had been temporarily pulled from their respective networks, and this week we're learning both have been cancelled, putting an end to the police chase reality show genre (for now, anyway). (WBUR)
- While Paramount Network has outright pulled Cops, some local stations as well as WGN America are still airing the show. However, many of those stations (including WGN America, whose broadcasting rights to the series expire at the end of this month) are looking for replacements. (Deadline)
- Amazon has picked up the rights to the former Pop TV series Flack, and will begin producing new episodes. (Hollywood Reporter)
- HBO has given some details about their Perry Mason series that is set to debut in a little over a week. (SitcomsOnline)
