TCA Winter 2020 Press Tour: Cable Day 2 - American Dad! 2 Season Renewal, Tacoma FD Season 2 Premiere Date

It was day two of the cable portion for the TCA Winter 2020 Press Tour. Turner networks were among the nets up. TBS has ordered two more seasons of the top-rated animated comedy American Dad! part of the network's escapist, lean-back line-up of smart, imaginative programming that tells stories with heart and a comedic edge. Currently ranked as a top 5 cable comedy – with the current season reaching an audience of nearly 18 million viewers across all TBS platforms – American Dad! has been a significant performer ever since joining the network. The series from 20th Century Fox Television will celebrate its momentous 300th episode this year, joining the ranks of only a few adult animated comedies to reach this landmark. TBS has greenlit Lost Resort, an upstairs/downstairs look at the booming subculture of exotic wellness retreats. Produced by ITV America’s Sirens Media, the 10-episode unscripted series follows a group of strangers who are immersed in a three-week-long Costa Rican retreat led by a colorful team of alternative healers.
truTV has announced the season two premiere date for its red-hot hit Tacoma FD, the half-hour comedy set in a firehouse in one of America's rainiest cities. The scripted series returns Thursday, March 26 at 10:00pm ET/PT with thirteen all-new episodes, an increased order from season one's ten-episode run. Created by and starring Broken Lizard's Steve Lemme and Kevin Heffernan of the Super Troopers franchise, the series was the number three new cable comedy of 2019. Season two features guest appearances from Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos) playing Eddie Penisi Sr., Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Jessica Lowe (Wrecked) and Jeff Dunham (Jeff Dunham: Beside Himself), along with returning guest stars Paul Soter (Super Troopers 2), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal), Suzy Nakamura (Dead to Me) and Jamie Kaler (Heathers). truTV's fiery new series Hot Ones: The Game Show is set to make its debut on Tuesday, February 18 at 10:00pm ET/PT. This hilarious half-hour game show is based on the hugely popular Hot Ones web series created by Complex Networks’ First We Feast. truTV is getting down and dirty with the greenlight of Tirdy Works, an unscripted sitcom set in a small rural town with four paved roads and a booming new business: arts and crafts created out of moose turds. Set in Somerville, Maine, the series is a hilarious, off-kilter look at entrepreneurship, parenthood, and life told through the eyes of artist Mary Winchenbach and her family.
TNT launches its highly anticipated post-apocalyptic sci-fi series Snowpiercer, starring Oscar(R) winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) and Tony Award(R) winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, black-ish), on Sunday, May 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Based on the critically acclaimed graphic novel series and the film from Golden Globe(R) Award winner Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), Snowpiercer joins TNT's line-up of big, lean-forward television that gives viewers the best seat in the house for electrifying stories, dynamic characters and thrilling events.
