SitcomsOnline Digest: Comedy Central Acquires Animated Comedy Favorites; Shout! to Release Saved by the Bell Collection With Previously Unreleased Episodes
- Comedy Central has acquired King of the Hill (which will begin airing on Monday) and The Cleveland Show (which will begin airing in the fall), but for now, it appears that King of the Hill will be limited to late nights at awkward times. (Hollywood Reporter)
- Pluto TV, a free live streaming service that you can watch on smart TVs and various streaming media devices, has announced a deal with Sony, and it will include TV titles such as Bewitched and Charlie’s Angels. (Deadline)
- The Magnum, PI reboot and Hawaii Five-0 will have a crossover event to bring both shows in to the same universe. (TV Guide)
- If you’ve got $1.85 million, you can buy the house used for the exterior on The Brady Bunch, and we’d really like to see somebody buy it who isn’t planning to tear it down. (Deadline)
- Freeform and Up TV have both acquired reruns of Fresh Off the Boat. (Broadcasting & Cable)
- Roseanne has made a video on YouTube that she recorded from her “own personal studio” (we assume that it’s her living room) where she explains why she thinks that she was fired, and it is clear that all is not well with her. (Deadline)
- Rugrats is returning to Nickelodeon with new episodes. (SitcomsOnline)

- TVShowsOnDVD.com no longer exists as a website, but they do still exist on Facebook, and this week, they brought us news about Shout! Factory’s upcoming DVD release of Saved by the Bell - The Complete Collection, which will not only include every episode of the series, but will also include the previously unreleased Good Morning, Miss Bliss episodes as well as the long out-of-print Saved by the Bell: The College Years.

- Knots Landing - The Complete First Season (DVD, $47.99): No word on when or if we'll see new seasons of this released on DVD, but the first season is being re-released by Warner Archive in this set..
WEEKLY PLANNER (JULY 21 - JULY 27)
- The sixth season of Orange is the New Black comes to Netflix on Friday.
- King of the Hill begins airing on Comedy Central very late on Monday night (or early Tuesday morning, depending upon how you look at it), at 3:40 AM.
- This weekend, Decades is airing a binge of Ripley's Believe it or Not.
