Mom Renewed for 6th Season on CBS; The Simpsons to Surpass Gunsmoke for Most Episodes
CBS announced that it has renewed the critically acclaimed Mom for the 2018-2019 season. The comedy starring Anna Faris and Academy and Emmy Award winner Allison Janney, which recently celebrated its 100th episode, is being picked up for a sixth season, joining other shows from CBS' Thursday night lineup, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon and S.W.A.T., in being renewed for next year. Mom premiered on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 and moved to Thursdays at the start of Season 2. Jaime Pressly, Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall and William Fichtner also star.
The April 29 episode of The Simpsons, the series' 636th, will beat Gunsmoke as the longest-running primetime scripted show in TV history! In the episode, Grampa makes a confession to Homer while on his deathbed. After his recovery, he comes to realize that this issue will not be easy to reconcile in the all-new "Forgive and Regret" episode of The Simpsons airing Sunday, April 29 from 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT on Fox. The all-star Voice Cast includes: Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson; Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson; Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson and Nelson; Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson; Hank Azaria as Moe; Harry Shearer as Skinner; Tress MacNeille as Dolph; Pamela Hayden as Milhouse.
