SitcomsOnline Digest: Tosh.0 Gets Three Season Renewal; New DVDs for Diff'rent Strokes and More

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! News is a little slow this week as the Winter Olympics are getting all of the attention, but we are hearing about some things going on at ABC and a renewal for a popular Comedy Central series. Also, after a long dry spell of DVD news, we're hearing about some new releases, including one very surprising one. Let's get going!

  • Comedy Central has given Tosh.0 a three season renewal. (Hollywood Reporter)
  • ABC's Thursday night TGIT lineup is preparing for a crossover event next month. (Deadline)
  • Once Upon a Time will be coming to an end after the current season is over. (Variety)
  • It may have not gotten all of the attention that the other reality music competition series got, but Fox's The Four: Battle for Stardom performed well enough in the ratings to justify a second season, which will air in the summer. (TVLine)
  • Character actor Mickey Jones, who appeared in the recurring role of construction worker Pete on Home Improvement (among other series), died this week at age 76. (Variety)
  • With NBC airing the Winter Olympics, Jimmy Fallon is being condensed to a five minute segment called The Fallon 5, which will air every weeknight for the next two weeks. (Deadline) 
  • A new version of Muppet Babies is coming to Disney Junior.  (SitcomsOnline)

Diff'rent Strokes - The Final Season

WEEKLY PLANNER (FEBRUARY 10 - FEBRUARY 16)
  • You can watch Diff'rent Strokes all weekend this weekend on Decades.
  • A special marathon of Frasier, remembering John Mahoney, is happening today until 10:00 PM on COZI.
  • There won't be any actual deviations from the regular schedule, but Antenna TV will be showing love related episodes of all of their series on Wednesday for Valentine's Day.
  • A special edition of 20/20 will air on Thursday at 10:00 PM on ABC that looks back at the series Roseanne and previews the upcoming new series on ABC.

Jay angers a local restaurateur when he uses a recipe at his restaurant that was given to him by Pete. Series star Rose McIver directed the episode.
