New Year's Eve 2016 and New Year's Day 2017 TV Marathons; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of January 2, 2017)

Welcome to a special New Year's style edition of the News Blog! As we end 2016 and start 2017, today we will give you a marathon recap on TV for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! Some of the major TV stunts include Antenna TV's New Year's Eve marathon of The Jack Benny Program beginning at 6pm New Year's Eve and lasting into New Year's Day morning at 5am. On New Year's Day, they will have a launch marathon of The Joey Bishop Show on Antenna TV from 5am-5am on New Year's Day. COZI TV will have two marathons as well. On New Year's Eve, they will have a Starsky & Hutch marathon from 10am-12am. Then on New Year's Day, as we mentioned, it's a Columbo launch marathon from 1pm-12am. The A-Team once again has a marathon on Encore Classic Network that has already started and will air through 9:30pm New Year's Day. TV One will have a New Year's Eve Good Times marathon from 6am-6pm, leading into Sanford & Son from 6pm-4am. WPIX in New York will of course have their annual The Honeymooners marathon starting at 11pm on New Year's Eve through 5pm on New Year's Day. Also in New York City, WLNY-TV 55/10 will have a marathon of The Odd Couple once again starting at midnight on New Year's Eve night through 9pm on New Year's Day for the fifth straight year.

Decades Network Comedy Binge continues with a marathon of Our Miss Brooks. FXX will bring us another marathon of The Simpsons that starts on New Year's Eve at 6pm and runs through New Year's Day at 11:59pm. IFC will turn it over to comedy with a Three Stooges marathon starting at 6pm in New Year's Eve running through 3pm on New Year's Day. Comedy Central rings in the new year with Drunk History on New Year's Eve from 11am-3am. USA Network has a Chrisley Knows Best Resolve to Watch New Year's Eve marathon starting at 6am New Year's Eve through 12am, while a Law & Order: SVU marathon airs on New Year's Day from 12am-11pm. Syfy has its annual Twilight Zone New Year's Eve and Day marathon that starts at 6am New Year's Eve continuing through Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 7am. ASPiRE will have a Lincoln Heights New Year's Day marathon from 10am-8pm.

Some others include: ION Television will also have a New Year's Eve marathon of Law & Order: SVU from 1pm-1am, and then a Blue Bloods marathon the next day from 1pm-1am. BBC America has a Star Trek Voyager marathon on New Year's Day beginning at 5am lasting through 9am on Tuesday, Jan. 3. AMC has a Walking Dead marathon that begins tonight (Dec. 30) at 11pm and lasting all the way to 2:30am on Monday, Jan. 2. Viceland will air all seven hours of Ezra Edelman's award-winning documentary O.J.: Made in America from at 4 p.m. to midnight on New Year's Day. Movie franchises marathons include Ghostbusters on BBC America on New Year's Eve and James Bond on Esquire. Reality wise, E! has a Keeping Up with the Kardashians marathon on New Year's Day beginning at 10am, while WGN America has a Cops New Year's Day marathon from 9am-11pm.

Other notable TV marathons and specials include ABC's Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2017 special on New Year's Eve from 8pm-10pm, followed by its annual specials at 10pm and 11:30pm. Movie wise, Pop, TNT, TBS, Freeform and many others will air movies on New Year's Day, while Hallmark Channel continues to air Christmas movies on New Year's Eve. Tune in Saturday and Sunday for all of this!

DMV - "Drive-ory Tower" (CBS, 8:30PM ET/PT)
Colette tries to bridge a growing divide at the office by bringing the driving examiners and counter clerks together. Meanwhile, Vic stubbornly avoids seeing a doctor after an unusual injury, forcing Barb to get creative to help him.
