2016 Christmas Eve and Christmas Day TV Marathons & Movies; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of December 26, 2016)
Some of the major TV stunts we mentioned already were Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas 2016 edition, concluding on Sunday after 25 days. That is always a fan favorite pick of course! Some of the stuff that will air on Christmas Eve and Day on Freeform include The Santa Clause 3 and Christmas Vacation. However, our pick of the marathons is once again on Antenna TV! Starting tomorrow they have a Christmas episode marathon beginning at 1pm on Christmas Eve running all the way into Christmas night of many classics from Webster to All in the Family to Wings to Three's Company! The MeTV Network will also have holiday episodes of their series like Happy Days and Family on Christmas Day, as they have had all month on Sundays. It's a Christmas conundrum! COZI TV has its Holidozi marathon and it continues tomorrow and lasting through Christmas Day with shows like Knight Rider, Hart to Hart, Frasier, and Baywatch. TBS has a Holiday Comedy Binge beginning Christmas Day through Dec. 30 of their new original comedies. TV Land's will have holiday episodes of its series on Christmas Day, but it's not being called its annual Merrython though, but look for holiday episodes of Roseanne, The Golden Girls and Everybody Loves Raymond all on Christmas Day.
Some of the other stuff include Decade's December Comedy Binge continuing through Jan. 1. VH1's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Christmas Eve marathon starting at 9:30am. WGN America's AFV marathon on Christmas Day from 9am-11pm. On Christmas Eve on TBS beginning at 6am through 8pm will be holiday episodes of their series like Married with Children, Seinfeld, Friends, and 2 Broke Girls. Christmas episodes of The Facts of Life and Designing Women on Christmas Eve will be just some of the items you will see on Logo. Nick at Nite has Christmas episodes of their sitcoms on Christmas Eve starting at 10pm and also on Christmas Day starting at 9pm with regulars like Friends, George Lopez, Full House and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. BBC America has a Doctor Who marathon that has already started and lasting all the way to 8:30am on Monday morning! USA Network has a NCIS marathon on Christmas Eve starting at 10am lasting through 11pm. Cloo has a House Christmas Eve marathon starting at 6am for 24 hours and then NCIS on Christmas Day.
Boomerang continues to air holiday episodes and specials with airings such as Smurfs: A Christmas Carol, Christmas Flintstone and Tom & Jerry Nutcracker on Christmas Eve and Day. Comedy Central goes for laughs of course with the Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special marathon beginning at 9am Christmas Eve. FXX will have a Simpsons Christmas episodes marathon on Christmas Day from 4-8pm. GSN will present a marathon of Family Feud on Christmas Eve beginning at 4pm.
Movie wise, for the 20th year in a row Turner will have its annual A Christmas Story (1983) 24-hour movie marathon on TBS from 8pm Christmas Eve through 8pm Christmas night! TNT will also air the stunt! IFC will give us a Lethal Weapon movies marathon on Christmas Eve. FX is doing a movie marathon featuring movies like The Santa Clause 2 & Kung Fu Panda 2 starting on Christmas Eve. Syfy Channel has a snow monster marathon beginning at 12pm on Xmas Eve with films like Abominable Snowman continuing through Xmas Day. Sundance Channel has a Xmas movie marathon on Christmas Day with classics like A Christmas Carol, but on Christmas Eve they have a marathon of The Andy Griffith Show! Lifetime, LMN, ION, AMC, UP, Spike, Freeform, THIS tv, Hallmark and Hallmark Movie Channel continue holiday movies marathons on Christmas Eve and Day.
Stay tuned this time next week for our annual look at marathons on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! Join us then but of course keep coming back every day until then for news!
