SitcomsOnline Digest: CMT Brings Nashville Back to Life; Shout! to Release Sixth Season of Newhart
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- Nashville didn't make it to the 2016-2017 ABC lineup, but that is OK because now CMT has picked it up, and will air a full 22 episode fifth season. (Entertainment Weekly)
- Remember that spinoff of Everybody Loves Raymond that starred Brad Garrett? Well, it never happened, but it could have happened. (Variety)
- The movie Mallrats has been waiting for years for a sequel, and it turns out one is coming, but instead of a movie, it will reportedly be a 10 episode TV series. (Gizmodo)
- Netflix rarely gives any insight on ratings or viewing patterns of their content (there really is no reason for them to do so), but they are discussing the types of series views binge on. (Deadline)
- The cable network Logo continues to evolve into a place for classic sitcoms, as the network is now airing What's Happening!! (SitcomsOnline)
HOME MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS
- Shout! Factory is moving ahead with Newhart, with a release of Newhart - The Complete Sixth Season set for release on September 13. This leaves only the final two seasons to be released.
TUESDAY (JUNE 14) HOME MEDIA RELEASES
