SitcomsOnline Digest: Jenna Elfman Looking for Another Shot at a Sitcom; Tonight Show Gives Parodies of Saved by the Bell and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
- Jenna Elfman is looking for another chance at sitcom success, and a pilot is in works at Fox that may just do that. (Deadline)
- Fox is airing the Emmy Awards this year, and unlike last year's bizarre Monday night in August event NBC put together last year, it will return to a traditional Sunday night in September spot. (TVLine)
- Jimmy Fallon took The Tonight Show to Los Angeles this week, and while there, he visited some of his old friends at Bayside High in a Saved by the Bell reunion skit that brought many of the original cast members back together. (Tonight Show/NBC)
- Saved by the Bell wasn't the only sitcom that Fallon saluted while in Los Angeles. In fact, he started his first show of the week by doing a remake of the opening credits of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. (Tonight Show/NBC)
- NBC hasn't had a lot of success with comedies lately, but they're trying harder with their dramas, and have already renewed five of them for next season. (SitcomsOnline)
- It looks like the sitcom The McCarthys is coming to an end after a short run on CBS. (SitcomsOnline)
