Nick at Nite's George Lopez: George's Most Embarrassing Moments; NBC Cancels Paul Reiser After 2 Episodes
We still have Nick at Nite May 2011 to give you, but we can hint that the movie The Nutty Professor will make its Nick at Nite debut in May! Nick at Nite has seen some success with some movie airings in recent weeks such as with Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.
In not so surprising news, NBC canceled The Paul Reiser Show after two episodes on Friday--if you haven't heard. The comedy premiered on Thursday, April 14 with low ratings and did even worse last week (April 21), falling under a 1 rating in 18-49. That is a historic low for NBC. Effective this Thursday (April 28), repeats of The Office will take over the time period for the final four weeks of the season. The repeats will lead into all-new episodes at 9pm. Four episodes of The Paul Reiser Show will remain on the shelf and likely will never be aired--even in summer after those terrible ratings.
Since apparently no one watched Paul Reiser's new show, it was a single-camera comedy from Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated actor/writer/producer Reiser and had Reiser star as -- Paul Reiser. It's been a few years since his hit TV series went off the air. Since then, he's been enjoying the quiet life at home with his lovely wife, Claire (Amy Landecker), and kids and generally minding his own business, writing and producing television but enjoying life out of the spotlight. Getting him into trouble -- and into adventures -- are a group of new "friends," most of which he didn't choose since they're the husbands of his wife's friends and the dads of his kids' classmates. Thrown together by circumstance, Reiser and his cohorts, including Jonathan (Ben Shenkman, "Angels in America"), Habib (Omid Djalili), Fernando (Duane Martin, All of Us) and Brad (Andrew Daly, MADtv), form an unlikely comradeship -- and a pretty lame basketball team.
