TV One July 2010, 2nd Season of Life After Featuring Stories on Fresh Prince, All of Us Stars; Minor Hallmark Channel Schedule Change

This July 2010 on TV One there won't be any regular schedule changes, so enjoy the current schedule including primetime of back-to-back Martin at 8pm, The Tracy Morgan Show at 9, All of Us at 9:30, and back-to-back A Different World at 10 (with encores from 11pm-2am of these three hours).
On Monday, July 5, 2010 beginning at 1pm, TV One presents the "Martin: Independance Day Marathon" featuring characters Martin, Gina, Tommy, Cole, and Pam in all of their comic glory. Watch all night through 5am!
On Saturday, July 17 beginning at 5:30pm, it's all about the Queen, as TV One presents the "Living Single: Queen For a Day Marathon" featuring episodes of the popular sitcom focusing on Queen Latifah's character Khadijah, all leading into the TV One premiere of the blockbuster comedy film Bringing Down the House starring Queen Latifah and Steve Martin. Then there is more Living Single fun from 10pm-6am! Get on your high chair and pretend you're the Queen!
On Saturday, July 24 beginning at 6am thru 12 midnight, feel the need for a little holiday cheer, and don't want to wait six months for it? Let TV One and your favorite stars celebrate the holiday season as TV One presents "Jolly July," a 24-hour 'Christmas in July' marathon of Christmas programming featuring a Christmas movie thriller and holiday episodes of favorite TV One comedies Amen, The Jeffersons, All of Us, Good Times, The PJ's, Sanford & Son, Eve, Living Single, All of Us, A Different World, The Tracy Morgan Show, and of course Martin. So ignore the heat, cuddle up with a loved one, and start your Christmas celebration a little early this year with TV One. And select encores will air from 2am-6am featuring The Tracy Morgan Show, Martin and Living Single.

And finally, we normally don't cover TV One's original series, but this one has backstories on some sitcom stars. On Sunday, July 18, beginning at 2:30pm through 7pm, as viewers anticipate the premiere of the new season of the TV One original bio-series Life After on Monday, July 19, TV One takes a look back with the airing of a Life After: 1st Season Marathon, featuring the stories such as Jamiee Foxxworth (Family Matters) and more. When she was mysteriously fired from Family Matters in the middle of the series, the stability and money that came from her job melted away. From acts of desperation to life changing events, find out from Jaimee how she has turned her life around. Catch this episode again at 6:00pm on the night.
On Monday, July 19 at 9pm & 9:30pm, "life after" doesn't mean "life over" as TV One proudly presents the second season premiere of original bio-series Life After. In the careers of all celebrities, there are turning points that change their lives forever afterwards, be they public or private, triumphant or tragic. Life After is the series of half-hour shows that investigates these moments from a celebrity's point of view, as they tell the stories of the transformative events in their lives and share their joy and happiness, pain and loss, while also sharing the ways in which they evolved from these experiences to a more fulfilling "life after." In the season premiere at 9pm, the story of Janet Hubert is featured including the story of why she left the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the middle of its run. Encores at 12am. Future new episodes will premiere on Mondays at 9pm. On Monday, July 26 at 9pm, TV One premieres another episode of original bio-series Life After and in this episode, the story of actress Elise Neal (All of Us, The Hughleys) is featured.

The Hallmark Channel has made a slight schedule change that starts next Monday (June 28). They will remove an hour of paid programming weekdays in the 8am hour. We get an extra hour of The Golden Girls now, so it will air in mornings from 8am-11am! But don't get too used to that. Because starting Monday, July 12, an extra hour of I Love Lucy will be added in the 10am hour, so the mornings will have The Golden Girls from 8am-10am and I Love Lucy from 10am-1pm starting July 12. With the reduction of one hour of paid programming from the schedule, Hallmark must be planning for fall when Martha Stewart programming takes over weekdays from 10am-6pm. Will more paid programming be removed by fall? We will have to wait and see. As of now paid programming airs weekdays 4am-8am after this change on June 28.
In other Hallmark Channel scheduling news, there will be a marathon of The Golden Girls on Monday, July 5, as we observe Independence Day. The marathon runs from 8am-4am...that's all day of nothing but Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia! Thank you for being a friend, indeed!

Summer Week 2 Sitcom Ratings; Coming Week Preview

Summer is in session and it's repeats galore mainly for sitcoms. We will be back with our normal weekly report with the first four nights numbers and analysis in the fall, but we still will have our regular how the sitcoms did all summer long, along with a coming week preview! Here are our summer ratings:

Last Sunday Sitcoms (counts for week of May 31-June 6)
  • 'Til Death (Fox) - Only 2.17 million and a 0.8 18-49 rating for an all-new episode...counting down to the final episodes.
  • Sons of Tucson (Fox) - Did even worse than the lead-in with 1.93 million and only a 0.7 18-49 rating for an all-new episode of this canceled series.
  • The Simpsons (Fox) - A repeat did 3.78 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating. Decent.
  • The Cleveland Show (Fox) - 3.62 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating for a repeat, nice holds from the lead-in.
  • Family Guy (Fox) - A repeat did 4.64 million and a 2.0 18-49 rating. Very good 18-49 rating for a repeat in the summer.
  • American Dad! (Fox) - 4.21 million and a 1.9 18-49 rating for a repeat, much better retention than it normally does when it is all-new.

Summer Week 2 (June 7-13)

Monday Sitcoms
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - 5.16 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating for a repeat. Nearly identical from previous week.
  • Rules of Engagement (CBS) - 5.45 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating for a repeat airing. Built from the lead-in again but down a bit from previous week.
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS) - 9.84 million and a 2.6 18-49 rating for a repeat is excellent for a repeat...on par from previous week.
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS) - 9.12 million and a 2.7 18-49 rating for a repeat. Built from the lead-in in 18-49 again, but down some from previous week.
Tuesday Sitcoms
  • None.
Wednesday Sitcoms
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - A special Wednesday edition repeat did only 3.97 million and a 1.2 18-49 rating. Lower than Monday's repeat again and lower than the competing ABC sitcom.
  • Rules of Engagement (CBS) - As with the lead in, a special Wednesday repeat did 4.15 million and 1.3 18-49 rating, building from the lead-in, as it did on Monday...but lower than previous week.
  • The Middle (ABC) 2 airings - The 8pm repeat did 4.44 million and a 1.1. 18-49 rating, but the 8:30pm repeat built on that and did 4.49 million and a 1.4 18-49 rating.
  • Modern Family (ABC) - A repeat at 9pm did a solid 5.04 million and a 1.7 18-49 rating. Nice 18-49 rating for a summer repeat, especially for a live action comedy.
  • Cougar Town (ABC) - A summer repeat did 3.65 million and a 1.2 18-49 rating. Could be better, but on par really from previous week.
Thursday Sitcoms
  • Community (NBC) - A repeat only did 2.53 million and a 0.9 18-49 rating. Lower even than previous week.
  • 100 Questions (NBC) - The third episode did 2.18 million and a 0.7 18-49 rating. Ouch again. Down from previous week and series lows.
  • The Office (NBC) 2 airings - The regular 9pm edition repeat did only 2.71 million and a a 1.2 18-49 rating, building from the lead-in. A 10pm repeat did 2.62 million and a 1.3 18-49 rating. This show doesn't seem to repeat as well anymore.
  • 30 Rock (NBC) -Airing at 9:30pm, a repeat did 2.64 million and a 1.3 18-49 rating, holding steady from its lead-in.
  • Parks and Recreation (NBC) - A 10:30pm repeat didn't do well, doing only 2.21 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating. Still better than 100 Questions.

Friday Sitcoms

  • None.

Saturday Sitcoms
  • None.

Digital Digest: Where Are My Season 2's And/Or Additional Seasons of My Favorite Sitcoms on DVD?

Welcome to another edition of Digital Digest! We don't have a review for you this week here but we do have an interesting feature story that will make you interested! There are some sitcoms that on DVD that don't get any releases after a first season or sometimes we get a few seasons then nothing more. Find out how long it has been for some of these sitcoms! And it's another light news week, but what can we do about that? It is summer.

DIGITAL NEWS

It's more dog days of summer in terms of news releases. Most of the news items this week are once again about current series. Sitcom wise we got information on two series. ABC/Disney has now given more information on the Sept. 28 release date for Scrubs - The Complete Ninth and Final Season ($29.99 MSRP) and Scrubs - The Complete Collection ($149.99 MSRP) on DVD. We get special features details and also a look at the packaging for both. View all of that here. Next we get a Aug. 31 release date for Warner Bros. series The Middle - The Complete First Season ($44.98 MSRP) from Warner Home Video. The ABC freshman sitcom airs Wednesdays at 8 on ABC. More details will come shortly, but for now we get the release date.
Sticking with comedy, although not a sitcom, we get two special SNL releases from Lionsgate. Both of these sets are re-releases but with ADDED bonus content. That is always a plus! Both of these are out on July 13. Saturday Night Live - Best of Will Ferrell ($14.98 MSRP) and Saturday Night Live - Best of Tracy Morgan ($14.98 MSRP). For the bonus material and package art, check this out.

Moving on to dramas, we get details on FLASHFORWARD, V, 90210, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Fringe, Chuck, Glee and more. This is the time of the year when we get these past season's shows on DVD, so August/September will have crazy amount of current series on DVD. We'll detail a few of those I mentioned above. We get details on FLASHFORWARD - The Complete Series (Aug. 31, $59.99 MSRP) from ABC/Disney. View the package art and a list of bonus features. Too bad the show is not getting a second season. Warner Bros. officially announced V - The Complete First Season (August 24), on both DVD ($39.98 MSRP) and Blu-ray ($49.99 MSRP). Bonus features are still to come but check out the package art. And the Fox sensation Glee is coming to DVD as well. We already knew about the Sept. 14 release date, but now we have full details on the special features. Pre-ordering for Glee -The Complete First Season on both DVD and Blu-ray has not yet begun.

All of the other news items were not concrete information or didn't really fit our website. Hopefully next week brings us more news--especially in sitcoms!

UPCOMING WEEK PREVIEW

Tuesday (June 15) has quite a few releases in store, with lots of sitcoms. First up, American Dad! - Volume 5 from 20th Century Fox. Next we have Family Guy - Volume 8 also from 20th Century Fox. We are working on them and hope to shelve out some of these reviews in the coming week. So stay with us!

BLOG FEATURE STORY

Where Are My Season 2's And/Or Additional Seasons of My Favorite Sitcoms on DVD?
by Pavan

Ever wondered how come this show has not seen a season two DVD in YEARS or why this show stopped at a season 3 on DVD? Well, you're not alone obviously. There are plenty of sitcoms that fit these two categories and frankly we hope they are released soon! The studios say that most of these have not continued because of sales. Some because of music clearances. Whatever the case may be, fans are certainly not happy as they invested in buying a season or even a few seasons and the studio just stops releasing. Today we will look at all the sitcoms that haven't continued on DVD in over a year. Some cases are even more extreme that it has been 5 years. We hope the studios sees this story and decides to do something about these sets and continue in someway--whether it be selling it on their website only or licensing it to a third-party studio, like Shout! Factory. Here is our list:

  • All in the Family (Sony Pictures) - Stopped after the sixth season, which was released over 3 years ago (Feb. 13, 2007). Only two seasons remain to be released.
  • Anything But Love (20th Century Fox) - Stopped after the first DVD set containing the first two seasons, which was released also over 3 years ago Feb. 6, 2007). Only two short seasons remain to be released, which can be done in one set.
  • Archie Bunker's Place (Sony Pictures) - Only the first season was released over 4 years ago (Jan. 31, 2006). Not sure why Sony released this set since they haven't even finished All in the Family yet, so it made it worse that they stopped this series after just one season. Three more seasons remain to be released.
  • Barney Miller (Sony Pictures) - Three seasons have been released, as the third season came out on March 17, 2009. So it hasn't been too long, but remember there was a four year wait in between seasons 1 and 2. Season three came out a year after season two, so where is season 4, Sony? Five more seasons are left to be released.
  • Benson (Sony Pictures) - The first season DVD was released nearly three years ago (July 24, 2007). It was one and done after that. There is along way to go, as we have six more seasons left.
  • Bernie Mac Show (20th Century Fox) - The first season was released a startling 6 years ago (May 4, 2004). It's been so long that LOST hadn't even premiered yet on ABC, and that show just had its series finale last month. Fox says music rights are the culprit. Bernie passed away and they still couldn't try to continue? Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • The Beverly Hillbillies (CBS Home Video) - The first three seasons have been released, but it has been over a year since the third season came out (Feb. 17, 2009). CBS DVD is usually very fast in releasing series, as they have cheap sets, so this is surprising that it has been over a year. Let's hope they continue very soon. Six more seasons are left to be released.
  • Blossom (Shout! Factory) - Now this is very strange. Shout! Factory releases everything very fast. And if it doesn't sell too well, they put it on their Shout! Select titles (which are sold only on their website). But not for this show yet, the first set had the first two seasons on DVD and was released well over a year ago (Jan. 27, 2009). Three seasons are left to be released.
  • The Bob Newhart Show (20th Century Fox) - The fourth season DVD was released nearly 4 years ago (Sept. 19, 2006). Only two more seasons left to be released. There was word of a complete series set some years back, but nothing yet.
  • Boy Meets World (ABC/Disney) - The last set released was season three nearly 5 years ago (Aug. 23, 2005), but ABC/Disney said sales were not too good. They licensed the series to Lionsgate and word is that the fourth season will be out on DVD in the fall...so stay tuned! Good news at least! Four seasons are left to be released, including that fourth season.
  • Coach (Universal Home Video) - The third season was released over two years ago (Feb. 19, 2008). They were coming out at a steady pace before that. Sales must have dipped. Universal should license the series to Shout! like they have with other series (Leave it to Beaver, Dragnet, Adam-12). A hefty six seasons are left to be released.
  • Dave's World (CBS Home Video) - It's been over a year (Feb. 3, 2009) since the second season came out on DVD. I was surprised we even got a second season, though. Only two more seasons are left to be released.
  • Dharma & Greg (20th Century Fox) - The first season was released four years ago (June 13, 2006). Could it be another low selling series for Fox or the more likely music excuse? Four seasons are left to be released.
  • Diff'rent Strokes (Sony Pictures) - The second season was released over four years ago (Jan. 31, 2006). Where is the third season? Gary Coleman just passed away and Sony still hasn't done anything about continuing? They could license the series to Shout! Factory and have them continue the series like they did with Facts of Life. A hefty six more seasons are left to be released. Whatchu talkin' about, Sony?
  • A Different World (UrbanWorks) - The first season was released so long ago that UrbanWorks was renamed to First Look Entertainment. It's been nearly 5 years (Nov. 8, 2005), since the first season was released. Five more seasons are left to be released.
  • Dream On (Universal Home Video) - The first set was a seasons one and two set and it was released nearly six years ago (Oct. 12,2004). Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • The Drew Carey Show (Warner Home Video) - Season one came out over three years ago (April 24, 2007). The previous year (Feb. 28, 2006) Warner tried a best-of set to test the waters, so it must have done well to get a season one set but that set must have bombed like most Warner series. A startling eight seasons are left to be released.
  • 8 Simple Rules (Lionsgate) - It hasn't been too long, but it has been over a year since the second season came out from Lionsgate (May 19, 2009). Season one was done by ABC/Disney on Aug. 7, 2007. Only one more season is left to be released, so hopefully later this year.
  • Evening Shade (CBS Home Video) - Only the first season was released and it has been about 2 years now (July 15, 2008) since it came out. Three more seasons are left to be released.
  • Family Ties (CBS Home Video) - Uh oh, it's been over a year since the fifth season came out (March 10, 2009). CBS was going by quickly previously. What happened? Let's hope they continue later this year. Only two more seasons are left to be released, so let's finish it CBS! Sha la la la!
  • The Flying Nun (Sony Pictures) - Oh come on Sony, only more season is left to be released of this three-season show. The second season came out nearly four years ago (Aug. 15, 2006). They didn't even take advantage of Sally Field's success on Brothers and Sisters.
  • George Lopez (Warner Home Video) - The first set was a seasons one and two set that came out over three years ago (April 17, 2007)! Ta loca! What is taking so long? This show has been a huge hit on Nick at Nite, too. Warner needs to release the remaining seasons ASAP. Four seasons are left to be released.
  • Gimme a Break! (Universal Home Video) - It's been over four years (Feb. 14, 2006) since the first season came out on DVD here in the U.S. Then VEI in Canada released the first and second seasons on DVD after that (May 30, 2006 and Jan. 16, 2007). Nothing more was released, but VEI in Canada is releasing the complete series set next month (July 20, 2010)! All six seasons will be on it. So another good news story, but U.S. needs to get on the ball in continuing this show on DVD!
  • Green Acres (MGM) - It's been nearly 4 1/2 years since the third season came out on DVD (Dec. 6, 2005). Three more seasons are left to be released, so maybe Shout! Factory can license this series like they did with Mister Ed (another MGM product)?
  • Growing Pains (Warner Home Video) - Another culprit of Warner's one set and done. Warner released this first season set on Feb. 7, 2006. However, there is word that the series can continue soon on DVD. So, show me that smile guys! 6 more seasons are left to be released.
  • Happy Days (CBS Home Video) - Music rights are now not an issue for this show. So what is the hold-up? Low sales? The fourth season was released on Dec. 9, 2008. A hefty seven more seasons are still left to be released.
  • Hazel (Sony Pictures) - The first season was released nearly four years ago (Aug. 1, 2006). Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • Hope & Faith (Lionsgate) - It's only been a little over a year since the first set came out (March 31, 2009). So lets hope the final two seasons will be released soon. Have faith!
  • The Jamie Foxx Show (Warner Home Video) - Only the first season was released...over 5 years ago (Feb. 8, 2005). Quiet surprising it hasn't continued with the star power. Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • The Jeffersons (Sony Pictures) -Like its parent series All in the Family, this was stopped after only the sixth season over three years ago (March 27, 2007). Five more seasons are left to be released. Maybe Shout! can license this series and finish it up quickly.
  • Just Shoot Me! (Sony Pictures) - After 5 years, we got a second set (Feb. 24, 2009), but now it's been over a year since the third season set came out. Just shoot me, Sony. Could we expect another 5 years? Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • King of the Hill (20th Century Fox) - This is surprising. The sixth season was the last set released and it has been 4 years (May 2, 2006). Seven more seasons are left to be released.
  • Laverne & Shirley (CBS Home Video) - The last set that came out was the fourth season and it was over two years ago (April 22, 2008). Has CBS given up? Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • Living Single (Warner Home Video) - Like Jamie Foxx, it has been over four years (Feb. 14, 2006) since the first season came out on DVD. Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • Mad About You (Sony Pictures) - Season three came out over three years ago (Feb. 6, 2007) from Sony. But GOOD NEWS! Season 4 is coming out later this month (June 29, 2010) from Shout! Factory.
  • Malcolm & Eddie (Shout! Factory) - It's been only a little over a year since the first season came out (April 14, 2009), but Shout! moves fast and for them this is slow. Three more seasons are left to be released. Maybe as a Shout! Select title at least?
  • Malcolm in the Middle (20th Century Fox) - We are nearing EIGHT years since season one came out (Oct. 29, 2002). That is the longest wait ever and it will continue due to the high cost of music. And six seasons are left to be released...ouch.
  • Mama's Family (Warner Home Video) - Oh boy, it has been nearly four years since Mama came to DVD for its first season. Five more seasons are left to be released.
  • Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman (Sony Pictures) - The first 25 episodes came out over three years ago (March 27, 2007). I doubt we will ever finish this show on DVD...there are gazillion episodes.
  • Maude (Sony Pictures) - Over three years ago we got the first season DVD (March 20, 2007) and now nothing since. Even when Bea Arthur passed away we got nothing. God will get you for this, Sony. Five more seasons are left to be released. Again hopefully Sony license it out to Shout!
  • Mork & Mindy (CBS Home Video) - The last set released was the third season back on Nov. 27, 2007. What is the problem? Low sales? Only one season is left to be released, so suck it up and make the fans happy, CBS!
  • Murphy Brown (Warner Home Video) - Over 5 years ago this first season came out on DVD (Feb. 8, 2005). The set sold terribly, so nothing since. A mind blowing nine seasons are left to be released.
  • My Favorite Martian (Rhino) - Oh Rhino, we just need one more season to be finished! The second season came out 5 years ago on May 10, 2005 and then they released a best-of set on Aug. 30, 2005. But why no season 3 yet? That is the final season!
  • The Nanny (Sony Pictures) - Season three was released over a year ago on March 17, 2009, after a three year wait. We don't want another long wait, so let's hope season four is out soon! Three more seasons are left to be released.
  • Ned and Stacey (Sony Pictures) - I couldn't believe Sony released this in the first place, but back then they released everything...and now they release nothing. Almost 5 years have passed since this first season set came out (Sept. 20, 2005). Only one more season is left to be released.
  • The New Adventures of Old Christine (Warner Home Video) - One season and done. The first season came out two years ago (Jan. 15, 2008) and none since? Wow. Especially since this is a current series (well it just got canceled, but still). Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • Newhart (20th Century Fox) - Like Bob's first series, Fox has left us hanging. But this series only got a first season release (Feb. 26, 2008). 7 more seasons are left to be released, including the series finale.
  • One Day at a Time (Sony Pictures) - Over three years now have passed since the first season came out on DVD (April 24, 2007). Eight more seasons are left to be released and with Valerie Bertinelli on a new sitcom for TV Land, Sony needs to take advantage and release season two!
  • Perfect Strangers (Warner Home Video) - It makes me SO mad that only one set of this series has been released. A seasons one & two set that came out two years ago (Feb. 5, 2008). And Warner has no plans for seasons three and on yet. Why? Don't be ridicoulous and try it! Six more seasons are left to be released.
  • Rules of Engagement (Sony Pictures) - Wow, they can't even continue with this show since it is still on the air? Only two seasons have came out. Sony should be already prepping a fourth season release in time for the fifth season this fall on CBS, but they aren't.
  • Silver Spoons (Sony Pictures) -Another series that didn't continue after one DVD set. Te first season came out on DVD three years ago (June 19, 2007). I think Shout! is the best company to continue this show. Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • Sister, Sister (CBS Home Video) -It's only been a little over a year, but for CBS DVD that is a lot. The season two DVD came out on May 19, 2009. 4 more seasons are left to be released.
  • 'Til Death (Sony Pictures) - Second season came out on DVD on Jan. 13, 2009. Two or three more seasons remain to be released, who knows how many seasons due to Fox's crazy scheduling.
  • Too Close for Comfort (Rhino) - It's been five years since the second season was released (June 7, 2005). Rhino even had everything ready for a third season and then scrapped it Why? Someone else needs to continue to release this underrated show. Four more seasons are left to be released.
  • 227 (Sony Pictures) - How sad we can't continue this show either? First season was released on Sept. 28, 2004, so we are nearing 6 years. No place like continuation, child. Four more seasons are left to be released, child.
  • WKRP in Cincinnati (20th Century Fox) - 3 years ago we finally got this sitcom on DVD (April 27, 2010). But we haven't gotten anything since. Three more seasons remain to be released.
  • The War at Home (Warner Home Video) - We got season one on DVD, three years ago (May 15, 2007). But season two never came...and that's the only season left to be released. Why not finish it Warner?
  • Wayans Bros. (Warner Home Video) - One season and done again. It's been over 5 years (Feb. 8, 2005). Four seasons are left to be released.
  • Weird Science (A&E) - Over two years ago we got the first two seasons on DVD (Jan. 1, 2008). But three more seasons are left to be released.
  • Welcome Back, Kotter (Warner Home Video) - Like Drew Carey, season one (June 12, 2007) came out after a best-of set (Feb. 28, 2006) sold well. But three years later, still no season two. Up your nose with a rubber hose, Warner! Three more seasons are left to be released.
  • What I Like About You (Warner Home Video) - It's been three years (May 1, 2007) since the first season came out on DVD...and nothing since. Three more seasons are left to be released.
  • What's Happening Now!! (Sony Pictures) - Sony gave us the parent series fast, but after just the first season of the follow-up series, we get nothing more. The first season came out on June 12, 2007...so three years have passed. Please give us the final two seasons on DVD, please!
  • Who's the Boss? (Sony Pictures) - This is baffling to me. 6 years ago we started our review program and that's when this show came out on DVD (June 8, 2004). But we have gotten nothing since! Why? It makes no sense. Shout! should take this away from Sony. Seven more seasons remain to be released.

Alice, Chico and the Man and Step by Step got best-of releases from Warner Home Video, but it didn't lead to season sets. It's been years for them (June 27, 2006; Sept. 27, 2005; and June 27, 2006), too.

Look at all of this. This is unacceptable for fans to be hanging like this on all of these sitcoms. This is WAY too much and more than I had thought before I did this story. Let's hope the studios wake-up and see what they have to finish. They can at least give it a try one more time? Sony and Warner seems like the worst ones on this list. CBS and 20th Century also have some titles that need continuing, but nothing as much as Sony and Warner.

Discuss this story with members of our message boards.

LOOKING AHEAD

Next week we have a busy slate of reviews coming up both on the blog and on our regular reviews, so you won't want to miss any of those. Nick at Nite Weekend Schedule Changes; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of June 14, 2010)

Last week Nick at Nite made some last minute changes to the schedule on weekends (Fri-Sun). This week they will do almost the same thing. The changes include, The Nanny airing in the 11pm hour on Friday and Saturday instead of Malcolm in the Middle, with George Lopez on Sunday in the 11pm hour. Then in the overnight, Everybody Hates Chris airs in the 2am hour on Friday night instead of The Nanny, followed by Family Matters from 3-5am instead of an hour each of The Nanny and Cosby Show. On Saturday night, it is Family Matters from 2-6am, as 2-4am replaces Everybody Hates Chris on both Saturday and Sunday nights and 5-6am replaces Cosby Show on both Saturday and Sunday nights. On only Sunday night, Cosby Show airs in the 4am hour instead of Family Matters. It is quite confusing and strange. This weekend is the second weekend in a row these changes were made, so they might be in effect from now on. But as of now for next week these changes are not carrying over. Though we do have a change next week, as Family Matters replaces Cosby Show every morning in the 5am hour.
In other Nick at Nite news, they will encore the pilot for TV Land's original sitcom Hot in Cleveland on Sunday, June 20 at 11pm! The series premieres on TV Land next Wednesday at 10pm and stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White. The cast will be making the talk show rounds, too, so read below on where you can see them! Hot in Cleveland's pilot will also encore on CMT on Sunday, June 20 at 6:30pm.
Anyway, view these Nick at Nite weekend changes. Stay with us for further updates.

TV Land Removes Good Times, As Its Contract Expires; Summer Network Notes for Fox

TV Land will be removing Good Times after its airing on Friday (June 11). The sitcom's contract expires at the end of the month but they will not renew the contract. J.J. and company were set to continue to air until the end of the month, but TV Land will remove it effective Monday (June 14). So, I was going to announce TV Land July 2010 soon and reveal the fate of Good Times, but with this schedule change, I was forced to reveal today.
Good Times was airing off-the-clock on Tues-Fri mornings at approx. 9:33am and 10:07am. Replacing it will be Sanford & Son, which moves up an hour. Airing at approx. 10:41am will be Gunsmoke, replacing those Sanford & Son airings. At approx. 11:50am Bonanza replaces a Gunsmoke airing. Bonanza remains at approx. 12:56pm, but from 2pm-5pm Bonanza will be replaced by The Andy Griffith Show, which returns to the weekday line-up. Currently, it was only airing in big weekend blocks. There are no other changes, so it is only weekday morning that will be changing. As for you Good Times fans, you can continue to watch it on TV One at least.

Hallmark Channel's Martha Stewart Programming Starts Sept. 13; The Unit Coming to Universal HD, The Network That Airs Becker, Hogan's Heroes

On the heels of the multi-year strategic partnership announced earlier this year, executives from Hallmark Channel and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia have revealed the original "how-to" programming block set to launch exclusively on the cable network this fall. The slate of new programming is anchored by the debut of the Emmy(R) Award-winning series The Martha Stewart Show on Hallmark Channel beginning Monday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m., ET/PT weekdays. The series moves from first-run syndication to cable on The Hallmark Channel!
Following The Martha Stewart Show, Hallmark Channel will air two new series: Between 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., ET/PT, weekdays, the network will air an hour-long topical talk show (at 11 a.m.), executive-produced by Emmy Award-winning writer and director David Steinberg and hosted by Sirius XM's Whatever hosts Alexis Stewart and Jennifer Koppelman Hutt. The show will have an intimate studio audience and provide a unique platform for the humorous duet to explore the daily headlines and everyday issues on the minds of viewers across the country. The home audience will be engaged through call-in and Skype-ing opportunities throughout the hour.
In the 12:00 p.m. ET/PT half-hour, weekdays, Hallmark Channel will premiere Mad Hungry with Lucinda. Lucinda Scala Quinn is the ubiquitous Executive Food Editor at MSLO, host of the radio show EatDrink on Sirius XM and author of popular cookbooks including her most recent title, Mad Hungry: Feeding Men & Boys. Lucinda's goal with the show is to bring family back to the dinner table. Lucinda will reveal her tips on how she has conquered the challenge of whetting the appetite of her husband and three sons. Then following Lucinda, in the 12:30 p.m. ET/PT half-hour, weekdays, Hallmark will air seasons one through four of the critically acclaimed series Everyday Food, offering quick, easy and practical cooking solutions. The series brings to life MSLO's award-winning Everyday Food magazine and is complemented by the popular iPhone app, Martha's Everyday Food.
From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., ET/PT, weekdays, Hallmark Channel will put the spotlight on select episodes from Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's extensive library of programming including From Martha's Kitchen, From Martha's Home and "From Martha's Garden, among others.
There will be encore airings of The Martha Stewart Show back-to-back at 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., ET/PT, weekdays enabling millions of viewers to have access to the program in the afternoon.
So what will happen to your favorite daytime series like Who's the Boss?, The Golden Girls, and I Love Lucy? We're not sure yet, but you'll have to keep checking back with us for that schedule. We have still three months until this happens, so try and enjoy these sitcoms until then, if anything should happen to them.

The Unit will be joining the Universal HD schedule starting Tuesday, July 6. It will air on Tuesday nights, from 8pm-2am ET replacing movies. The Unit also airs on sister network Sleuth, which is owned by Universal. Sleuth/Universal share the show with Viacom's Spike TV/BET. Currently, broadcast reruns are airing on MyNetwork TV on Wednesday nights, but come Fall 2010, The Unit's broadcast run will move to local weekend syndication on local stations and WGN America. We'll have more on that when it is available.
So what else does Universal HD air? They air sitcoms Becker and Hogan's Heroes regularly, with Ted Danson's Becker now airing weekdays 7-8pm and encoring later that night from 2-3am. Hogan's Heroes airs in marathon blocks weekly, usually on Fridays between 9am-7pm mixed in with Becker. Can you imagine Hogan in HD? It has never looked better! Among the other series they air are Six Feet Under, House, Monk, Nash Bridges, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent-- all of which are on other Universal-owned cable networks (USA Network, Bravo).
Universal HD also airs rare stuff. On Friday nights from 8pm-11pm, which an immediate encore from 11pm-2am, they air short-lived series. Currently for the month of June, they are airing Bram and Alice (2002 CBS sitcom starring Alfred Molina), Fat Actress (2005 Showtime sitcom starring Kirstie Alley), First Monday (2002 CBS drama starring Joe Mantegna & James Garner) and South Beach (2006 UPN drama starring Odette Yustman). And if that's not enough, they air Monday marathons of That's Life (2000-2002 CBS comedic drama) from 9am-7pm.
Coming in July to the Friday night URTV block is Cuts (2005-06 UPN sitcom starring Shannon Elizabeth), Love Inc. (2005-06 UPN sitcom starring Holly Robinson Peete), Sex, Love & Secrets (2005 UPN drama starring Denise Richards), and Love Monkey (2006 CBS drama starring Tom Cavanagh). Among the other short-lived series they have aired on and off include Complete Savages, Threshold, Philly, Big Apple, Andy Barker, P.I., My Big Fat Greek Life, among many others.
We try to give you some updates here and there on this HD network, but we will try to more from now on, especially if more short-lived sitcoms are added!

Summer Week 1 Sitcom Ratings; Coming Week Preview

Summer has now started with this past week being the first full week of the summer season. We will be back with our normal weekly report with the first four nights numbers and analysis in the fall, but we still will have our regular how the sitcoms did all summer long, along with a coming week preview! Here are our summer ratings:

Last Sunday Sitcoms (counts for week of May 24-30)
  • 'Til Death (Fox) - preempted, new episodes return tonight (June 6).
  • Sons of Tucson (Fox) - preempted, new episodes return tonight (June 6).
  • The Simpsons (Fox) - preempted.
  • The Cleveland Show (Fox) - preempted.
  • Family Guy (Fox) - preempted.
  • American Dad! (Fox) - preempted.

Summer Week 1 (May 31-June 6)

Monday Sitcoms
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - 5.24 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating for a repeat. Not bad.
  • Rules of Engagement (CBS) - 5.78 million and a 1.7 18-49 rating for a repeat airing. Built from the lead-in!
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS) - 9.85 million and a 2.7 18-49 rating for a repeat is excellent for a repeat...and also up from year-to-year.
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS) - 9.47 million and a 3.0 18-49 rating for a repeat. Built from the lead-in in 18-49. I am dying to see how this show does Thursdays at 8 next season. Whatever it is, I don't see it doing the big numbers of this year in that slot.
Tuesday Sitcoms
  • None.
Wednesday Sitcoms
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - A special Wednesday edition repeat did a prelim 4.53 million and a prelim 1.4 18-49 rating. Lower than Monday's repeat. Final ratings were not available for the Wednesday sitcom repeats yet.
  • Rules of Engagement (CBS) -As with the lead in, a special Wednesday repeat did a prelim 4.62 million and a prelim 1.5 18-49 rating, building from the lead-in, as it did on Monday.
  • The Middle (ABC) 2 airings - 2 repeats, including the pilot at 8pm, averaged a prelim 5.02 million and a prelim 1.4 18-49 rating. Not bad in viewers for repeats.
  • Modern Family (ABC) - A repeat at 9pm did a prelim 4.92 million and a prelim 1.6 18-49 rating. Nice 18-49 rating for a summer repeat.
  • Cougar Town (ABC) - A summer repeat did a prelim 3.68 million and a prelim 1.3 18-49 rating. Could be better.
Thursday Sitcoms
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - A third airing this week was lower than Monday and Wednesday airings, doing 3.92 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating. These are finals.
  • Rules of Engagement (CBS) - Also a third airing this week did 4.37 million and a 1.3 18-49 rating, once again building from its lead-in.
  • Community (NBC) - A repeat only did 2.99 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating. Slightly better than previous week.
  • 100 Questions (NBC) - The second episode did 2.22 million and a 0.9 18-49 rating. Ouch. Down in viewers but up a tenth in 18-49 from previous week.
  • The Office (NBC) 2 airings - No finals yet for this. The regular 9pm edition repeat did only a prelim 2.78 million and a prelim 1.2 18-49 rating. A 10pm repeat did a prelim 2.94 million and a prelim 1.4 18-49 rating...a bit better.
  • 30 Rock (NBC) -Airing at 9:30pm, a repeat did a prelim 2.84 million and a prelim 1.2 18-49 rating, holding steady from its lead-in. Not final.
  • Parks and Recreation (NBC) - A 10:30pm repeat didn't do well, doing a prelim 2.55 million and a prelim 1.2 18-49 rating. Not final. Still better than 100 Questions.

Digital Digest: The A-Team - The Complete Series DVD Review

Welcome to another edition of Digital Digest! Our normal Digital Digest blogger (skees53) is on vacation this week, so I (Pavan) will be doing the entire Digest this week! We have the latest news, upcoming releases for Tuesday, and our review of The A-Team - The Complete Series. It's another light news week, but what we do have is all positive.

DIGITAL NEWS

The first week of June was also a very slow week in terms of news releases. It was even slower than the previous week. Most of the items this week are about current series. There haven't been any "surprise announcements" again, but we did get a few release dates and some additional information. Universal Home Video officially announced The Office - Season Six (September 7), on both DVD ($59.98 MSRP) and Blu-ray ($69.98 MSRP). Bonus material and package art were also revealed, so check that out. Universal Home Video also officially announced Heroes - Season 4 (August 3), on both DVD ($59.98 MSRP) and Blu-ray ($79.98 MSRP). Bonus material and package art were also revealed, so check that out. This is the last season for the series, as NBC canceled it in May.

We also got the official package art for Grey's Anatomy - The Complete Sixth Season - More Is Better (Sept. 14, $59.98 MSRP) from ABC/Disney. View the package art. Warner Bros. officially announced The Vampire Diaries - The Complete First Season (August 31), on both DVD ($59.98 MSRP) and Blu-ray ($69.98 MSRP). Bonus material much more were also revealed, so check that out.

Last week, we gave you some info on NBC's newest series, Parenthood, now we have the package art. Stay tuned for pre-ordering information and the official announcement.

All of the other news items were not concrete information or didn't really fit our website. Hopefully next week brings us more news--especially in sitcoms!

UPCOMING WEEK PREVIEW

Tuesday (June 8) has quite a few releases in store, but again a very few that are of interest to us. In fact, only two interest us. The one of the most interest to us is Family Matters - The Complete First Season from Warner Home Video. Check out our review of this DVD, if you haven't already. Also, though not a sitcom, we have The A-Team - The Complete Series. We have a review of this set in today's Digital Digest below. And finally we have items like Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Complete 7th Season, Ghostwriter - Season 1, and Nip/Tuck - The Complete 6th and Final Season.

BLOG FEATURE REVIEW

"Ten years ago, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum-security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The A-Team."
This means The A-Team the complete series arrives on DVD in an action-packed, 25-disc set. The A-Team - The Complete Series brings us every single episode in a new packaged box set.

DVD Review: The A-Team - The Complete Series
by Pavan

The A-Team - The Complete Series (Universal, $149.98) brings us all 5 seasons on DVD once again but this time on one set! We previously got all five seasons released separately, but now we are getting them in all one set with all-new packaging! We'll cover the packaging in detail shortly. All 98 episodes are here and "I pity the fool" who doesn't watch this show. The series aired on NBC from 1983-87 and was an adrenaline-pumping adventure with Hannibal (George Peppard), Face (Dirk Benedict), Murdock (Dwight Schultz) and B.A. (Mr. T). Now that the theatrical movie is coming out next week, Universal is giving us all five seasons again--but together.

All 98 episodes are on this set. So I suggest you read our individual reviews for each season. The DVDs were released between 2004-2006 and sold very well. Some memorable episodes from each season include the premiere "Mexican Slayride," where desperate, but ambitious newspaper reporter, Amy Allen, wants to prove the existence of the A-Team, four ex-GIs that help people in need and when she finds them she hires them, because her co-worker Al Massey is missing in Mexico. The season two episode "Recipe for Heavy Bread," where Face runs into an old friend from the POW camp the A-Team used to be in and the friend was the cook there who helped them to flee and now needs their help, when he gets involved in a drug deal of former camp members, especially the former Vietnamese commander. The season three two-hour episode, "Bend in the River," where Tawnia asks the A-Team to find her fiancé, an archaeologist last seen on an Amazon expedition that was attacked by a pirate, but she doesn't tell the A-Team that they are searching her fiancé, but more importantly the A-Team has to get new Malaria drugs before they can fly to the Brazilian rain forests. The season four episode "Wheel of Fortune," where Murdock's fortunes rise and fall as he uses Face's system to win big on Wheel of Fortune and he wins a trip to Hawaii, but then is kidnapped by people who claim to be CIA, but turn out to be criminals. And finally the season five episode, "Without Reservation," the final episode, where Frankie and Face visit Murdock (strangely completely sane) at his job in a restaurant, and all three become hostages of mobsters out to kill a patron, the US Attorney General, Hannibal and B.A. have to save the others, but things heat up when Face is shot and needs immediate medical attention.
Now these are just five episodes out of 98, read our full reviews of each season from the individual releases for more:
Season 1 / Season 2 / Season 3 / Season 4 / Season 5

Let's now move on to the packaging. This is the ONLY new part of this set that differs from the season sets that were already released. It is really neat looking, as we get the famous A-Team black GMC Vandura van with that red stripe. So far so good and we love it when a plan comes together, as Hannibal would say! The roof of the van says "The A-Team The Compete Series" in red and black. We see B.A. in the driver's seat and Hannibal in the passenger's seat. We see two shots of them actually, one on each window and both of them can be seen towards the windshield window. All four wheels say "The A-Team The Complete Series" in white lettering. The bottom of the van has info on the series and set, saying "Pity the Fool That Doesn't Own Every Adventure." Images of each season's packaging is shown along with a box listing the bonus features (which were released on the individual sets).

So how do we get to the cases? Well, we have to pull that red cardboard strip on the roof of the van. But be very careful so you don't rip the cardboard because I did a little! When you pull the red strip, we see five cases inside the van. Lots of cardboard is holding it. It's pretty cheap, but it works. There is nothing else inside the van, just the cases. It would have been cool if there was a button to push that would either play The A-Team theme song or some gunshots being fired. The Knight Rider complete series set had a button when we push would play the theme song. The cases are different from the season sets. The first case holds season one episodes. The cover of the case features B.A. with three squares on the left of the other team members: Hannibal, Face, and Murdock. The back of the case is the same as the back of the box from the original season one set. Disc art is also the same as the original season one set. The discs overlap though inside the case. The second case holds season two episodes. The cover of the case features Face with three squares on the left of the other team members: Murdock, Hannibal, and B.A. The back of the case is the same as the back of the box from the original season two set. Now disc art this time is in lime green, as the original set were double-sided discs. So this is a plus to have single-sided discs! The discs overlap though inside the case. The third case holds season three episodes. The cover of the case features Hannibal with three squares on the left of the other team members: B.A., Murdock, and Face. The back of the case is the same as the back of the box from the original season three set. Now disc art this time is in red, as the original set were double-sided discs. So this is a plus to have single-sided discs! The discs overlap though inside the case. The fourth case holds season four episodes. The cover of the case features Murdock with three squares on the left of the other team members: Face, B.A. and Hannibal The back of the case is the same as the back of the box from the original season four set. Now disc art this time is in blue, as the original set were double-sided discs. So this is a plus to have single-sided discs! The discs overlap though inside the case. And finally, the fifth case holds season five episodes. The cover of the case features shots of all four team members: Murdock, Hannibal, Face and B.A. The back of the case is the same as the back of the box from the original season five set. Disc art is also the same as the original season five set, as the discs were single-sided. Discs two & three overlap though inside the case.

Read our full reviews of each season from the individual releases to read about the original packaging:
Season 1 / Season 2 / Season 3 / Season 4 / Season 5

The content inside the discs is exactly the same as the individual season sets. So we have the same menus, audio/video quality, and special features! Once again, I suggest you read our previous reviews to look at the Menu Design and Navigation section, Video and Audio Quality, and Special Features section:
Season 1 / Season 2 / Season 3 / Season 4 / Season 5

If you don't have the individual season sets, then you REALLY need to get this set. The packaging is better and won't take as much space on your shelf as the season sets would. I highly do recommend this set for any die-hard A-Team fan just for the A-Team van packaging! But that really is the only thing new here. The special features are all the same as the previous season sets. So basically a Knight Rider season two episode, the season five episode of A-Team "Point of No Return" on the season four set, and an interview with Stephen J. Cannell titled "Rumors of Soldiers of Fortune." I think Universal is releasing this set just to cash in on the theatrical movie coming out Friday starring Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as B.A. Jessica Biel also stars as Capt. Carissa Sosa along with Gerald McRaney as General Morrison. It would have been cool if there was a free movie ticket with this set, but 20th Century Fox is doing the movie and not Universal. Die-hards get this set for sure and newbies or casual fans who don't have any of the previous DVDs, then get this set. Anyway, if you have a problem, if no one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire: The A-Team.

Better Together

Better Together - Wednesdays at 8:30PM EST/PST on ABC

Maddie and Ben have been dating for nine years. They know each other inside and out, a relationship marked by contentment and affection, seeing their commitment to one another as a "valid life choice," something they proclaim often -- and often loudly. Maddie's younger sister, Mia, has been dating Casey for seven weeks. With a shared c'est la vie attitude, Mia and Casey are smitten with each other, and thrilled to explore the oh so many things they don't know about each other yet. But when they announce they're getting married and having a baby, it's news that throws Maddie for a loop. Surprisingly, the girls' parents, Vicky and Joel, couldn't be more pleased. Married 35 years, they have recently adopted a carpe diem sort of philosophy, rather like Mia's, maybe because they're getting older and lost a good portion of their savings when the economy tanked. With three very different relationships tightly intertwined in one family, will it be free thinkers vs. over-thinkers, or will each couple begin to see things a little bit differently?

Better Together stars Joanna Garcia as Mia, Jennifer Finnigan as Maddie, Josh Cooke as Ben, Jake Lacy as Casey, with Kurt Fuller as Joel and Debra Jo Rupp as Vicky.

The series is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Silver and Gold Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Shana Goldberg-Meehan is executive producer and writer. The pilot was directed by James Burrows.

In this modern comedy, a couple's break-up will complicate all of their friends' lives and make everyone question their choices. When life throws you for a curve, hold on tight to the people you love. Every circle of friends has someone who's the gravitational center. For years, perfect couple Dave and Alex drew their friends in and held them together. Now that they've split, does this group have the stuff to stay together? Or do Max, Brad, Jane and Penny have to choose sides? Suddenly every event is a negotiation... like, who gets to go on the annual ski trip? There are a lot of big questions to be answered, but this group has been together so long, somehow, little by little, they'll figure out how to hold on, even though their center is split up. It helps that Dave and Alex have agreed to stay friends. But there will definitely be other complications down the road - like Penny's long-suppressed feelings for Dave. New Fall: Mike & Molly, $#*! My Dad Says
    New Mid-Season: Mad Love
Returning: How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory

    Mike & Molly

Mike & Molly - Mondays at 9:30PM EST/PST on CBS

MIKE & MOLLY is a comedy from Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men, and The Big Bang Theory) about a working class Chicago couple who find love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting. Officer Mike Biggs (Billy Gardell) is a good-hearted cop who sincerely wants to lose weight. Mike's partner, Officer Carl McMillan (Reno Wilson), is a thin, fast-talking wise-guy, who despite his teasing encourages Mike on his road to slimness and romance. While speaking at an O.A. meeting, Mike meets Molly Flynn (Melissa McCarthy), an instantly likeable fourth-grade teacher with a healthy sense of humor about her curves. For Molly, focusing on smart choices isn't easy because she lives with her sexy older sister, Victoria (Katy Mixon), and their mother, Joyce (Swoosie Kurtz), both of whom flaunt their healthy appetites and slender figures. Mike also faces temptation at the diner he and Carl frequent, where they've become friends with the Senegalese waiter, Samuel (Nyambi Nyambi), who finds trying to eat less a foreign concept. For Mike and Molly, thanks to their mutual love of pie and the desire to resist it, finding each other may have been worth the "weight." Perfect Couples

Perfect Couples - Mid-Season on NBC

Perfect Couples depicts the misadventures of three engaging couples as they struggle to find out what makes the ideal relationship -- and how to maintain it through humorous trial-and-error. The series explores their heroic journey in search of the perfect relationship without destroying each other in the process.

Dave (Kyle Howard, My Boys) and Julia (Christine Woods, FlashForward) are the relatable, normal couple, but Julia's hope of remaining the cool, low-maintenance chick is tested by Dave's attempts to keep both his wife and his needy best friend Vance (Dave Walton, NBC's 100 Questions) equally happy. Vance, along with the neurotic Amy (Mary Elizabeth Ellis, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), are the high-passion, high-drama couple who bring out the best and worst in each other.

The third duo features Rex (Hayes MacArthur, She's Out of My League), a reformed party guy, and, and his wife, Leigh (Olivia Munn, Attack of the Show), who considers herself as the group's mother hen. Believing that they are relationship experts, Rex and Leigh have attended every class and seminar on relationships -- and regard themselves as the "perfect couple."

The Paul Reiser Show - Mid-Season on NBC

The Paul Reiser Show is a new single camera comedy from Emmy and Golden Globe nominated comedian-author-producer-actor Paul Reiser (Mad About You) and writer-producer Jonathan Shapiro (Life). The show stars Paul Reiser as…Paul Reiser. It's been a few years since Paul's hit TV series went off the air. Since then, he's been enjoying the quiet life at home with his lovely wife and kids and generally minding his own business. Lately, however, Paul has been thinking that it's time he did something new, something meaningful. As to what that next thing might be, he has no idea. In his quest to figure it out, Paul is helped and hindered by his new "friends." Like most men his age, Paul didn't choose these friends. They're the husbands of his wife's friends, the dads of kids that his boys go to school with. Thrown together by circumstance, Paul and his friends form an unlikely comradeship -- and a horrible basketball team. In addition to Reiser, Ben Shenkman (Angels in America) stars as Jonathan, Omid Djalili (The Infidel) as Habib, Duane Martin (All of Us) as Fernando, Andrew Daly (MADtv) as Brad, Amy Landecker (A Serious Man) as Claire, Brock Waidmann as Zeke and Koby Rouviere (Greenberg) as Gabe. The pilot is executive produced and written by Reiser and Shapiro, produced by Craig Knizek (Mad About You), Merri Howard (Cold Case) and Peter Safran (Heist), and directed by Bryan Gordon (Curb Your Enthusiasm). The Paul Reiser Show is a production of Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Nuance Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

    New January/Spring 2011: Bob's Burgers, Mixed Signals
Returning: The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy, American Dad!

    Raising Hope

Raising Hope - Tuesdays at 9:00PM EST/PST on Fox

Raising Hope is a new single-camera family comedy from Emmy Award winner Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl) that follows the Chance family as they find themselves adding an unexpected new member into their already terribly flawed household. At 23 years old, JIMMY CHANCE (Lucas Neff, The Beast) is going nowhere in life. He skims pools for a living, parties every night and still lives at home with his family, including his MAW MAW (guest star Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Cloris Leachman); his mother, VIRGINIA (Martha Plimpton, How to Make It in America); his father, BURT (Garret Dillahunt, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Damages); and his cousin, MIKE (Skyler Stone, The Mentalist, Dollhouse). Jimmy's life takes a drastic turn when a chance romantic encounter with LUCY (guest star Bijou Phillips, Choke, Almost Famous) goes awry once he discovers she is a wanted felon. Months later, when Jimmy pays a visit to the local prison, he discovers Lucy gave birth to their baby, who he is now charged with raising. At home with his new daughter, Jimmy's family is less than enthusiastic about a new addition to the household. His parents, who had him when they were 15, never knew anything about raising a child and have no interest in trying again. If Jimmy can work up the nerve to ask her out on a date, he might get some help from SABRINA (Shannon Woodward, The Riches, ER), a sardonic checkout clerk he met at the supermarket. Cousin Mike is only concerned about how the baby is going to affect their social life, and out-of-touch Maw Maw is no help either. But Jimmy is determined to take care of his baby - whom Virginia thinks they should name HOPE. With very few useful skills but their hearts in the right place, will the Chance family be successful when they step into the unpredictable and immensely challenging world of parenting?

    Running Wilde

Running Wilde - Tuesdays at 9:30PM EST/PST on Fox

From the Emmy Award-winning creator and the star of the critically acclaimed FOX series Arrested Development comes Running Wilde, a romantic comedy starring Will Arnett (Arrested Development, 30 Rock) as STEVE WILDE, a filthy-rich, immature playboy trying desperately to win (or buy) the heart of his childhood sweetheart, EMMY KADUBIC (Keri Russell, Waitress, Felicity), the über-liberal humanitarian who got away - all told through the perspective of a 12-year-old girl. Steve Wilde has never performed a selfless act. But why should he - he's rich! The son of an oil tycoon, Steve hasn't had to work a day in his life and has always gotten everything he's wanted - with one exception: the love of Emmy. The daughter of a former Wilde housekeeper, Emmy is an earnest do-gooder who has spent her adult life trying to save the world. And though Emmy is content living with an indigenous tribe in the Amazon rainforest, her 12-year-old daughter, PUDDLE (Stefania Owen, The Lovely Bones), just wants to be a normal kid experiencing her adolescence in a normal place. And she would speak up except for the fact that she hasn't spoken in years. When Wilde Oil's expansion in the rainforest threatens her adopted tribe, Emmy decides to attend Steve's self-thrown “Humanitarian of the Year” award ceremony in hopes of convincing him to help her cause…and also maybe because she still has a thing for Steve. But same-old Steve is unwilling to help because fighting Wilde Oil (a/k/a Dad) means putting his meal ticket in jeopardy. Rather than run the risk of letting Emmy slip away again, Steve pulls out all the stops to win her heart. To do so, he enlists the only other people in his life who can help: MIGO SALAZAR (Joe Nuñez, Superbad, Prison Break), Steve's employee/sidekick/errand-boy, and GERTIE STELLVERTRETTER (Jayne Houdyshell, Law & Order), Steve's nanny-turned-head-of-security as well as the biggest protector of Steve…and her own job. Despite having everything he ever wanted, Steve knows he can't buy love and happiness, which falls in sharp contrast to Emmy, who has nothing but love and happiness. So with Emmy committed to doing good for nothing, and Steve being a good for nothing, will this hopelessly mismatched pair ever be able to reconcile their differences?

    Will Arnett as Steve Wilde
    Keri Russell as Emmy Kadubic
    Stefania Owen as Puddle Kadubic
