Dickinson Final Season Date Announced; Superstar: Robin Williams to Air Next Week (Oct. 20)

Apple TV+ released the trailer for the third and final season of Dickinson, the critically acclaimed and Peabody Award-winning Apple Original comedy series starring and executive produced by Academy Award-nominee Hailee Steinfeld, and created, written and executive produced by Alena Smith, who also makes her directorial debut this season. The first three episodes of the ten-episode season will premiere globally on Friday, November 5, 2021 on Apple TV+, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday through December 24, 2021. In the third and final season, Emily Dickinson's most productive time as an artist falls amid the raging American Civil War and an equally fierce battle that divides her own family. As Emily tries to heal the divides around her, she wonders if art can help keep hope alive, and whether the future can be better than the past.
Starring alongside Steinfeld in the third season of Dickinson are returning ensemble cast members Toby Huss, Adrian Blake Enscoe, Anna Baryshnikov, Ella Hunt, Amanda Warren, Chinaza Uche, and Jane Krakowski, as well as world renowned rapper, singer, and songwriter, Wiz Khalifa, who will join the show once again as the character of 'Death.' The third season will also feature brand new guest stars including Ziwe as 'Sojourner Truth,' who also joined as a writer, Billy Eichner as 'Walt Whitman,' and Chloe Fineman as 'Sylvia Plath;' as well as returning favorites Zosia Mamet as 'Louisa May Alcott' and Will Pullen as 'Nobody.'
ABC News' Superstar series returns for a new episode (in lieu of a repeat of A Million Little Things) and will profile Robin Williams, one of the world's most beloved and inventive comedians. So far to date the series has looked at Whitney Houston, Kobe Bryant, John Ritter and Richard Pryor this past summer. This new episode recounts his life through Robin Williams' own voice, describing "the spark of madness" which defined his life. From his early days in the San Francisco Bay Area comedy scene to his meteoric rise on Mork & Mindy, the one-hour special explores the experiences that made Williams into a one-of-a-kind talent and reveals what gave voice to the characters in his mind. It also chronicles the creative force driving critically acclaimed films like Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society, as well as fan favorites such as Aladdin. The special explores his personal struggles, including substance abuse and depression, and his battle with Lewy Body Dementia before his tragic death in 2014. Superstar: Robin Williams features interviews with famous comedians and actors who knew and admired Williams, including Margaret Cho, Howie Mandel, Lewis Black, Jimmie Walker, Paula Poundstone, Gina Hecht and Pauly Shore, as well as Barry Levinson, director of multiple films starring Williams including Good Morning, Vietnam. The program also contains interviews with Williams from the ABC News archives, in which he opens up about his life and the highs and lows of his distinguished career. Superstar: Robin Williams airs Wednesday, Oct. 20 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. It can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
ABC also announced it is bringing back The Wonderful World of Disney for a frighteningly fun night in October. The network will air a special presentation of Halloween favorite Toy Story OF TERROR! (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), followed by the broadcast premiere of Toy Story 4 (8:30-10:30 p.m. EDT), on Thursday, October 28. Both of these are also available to stream on Disney+. A rerun of The Wonder Years will round out the night at 10:30 p.m. EDT. ABC's regular Thursday dramas were slated to be off this evening.
