SitcomsOnline Digest: Fresh Prince Reunion Brings Unexpected Pair Back Together; Doogie Howser Reboot Officially Picked Up
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is stealing the headlines with not one, but two separate stories! We're also hearing about a Doogie Howser reboot and more this week. Let's get going!
- Here's something we definitely didn't see coming, in light of the fact that she has publicly called him some things we won't repeat here: it seems Janet Hubert and Will Smith have patched up their differences and will be reuniting for an upcoming Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion. (NY Daily News)
- Speaking of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, that dramatic reboot of it that we mentioned a few weeks ago? It's been picked up by Peacock. (TVLine)
- The Doogie Howser, MD reboot (Doogie Kameāloha, MD is the title, actually) has been picked up by Disney+. (Deadline)
- Bill Maher did something last night that no talk show has done in months: a live audience and guests in studio. (Deadline)
- Here's some good news: Saturday Night Live plans to return to the studio next month for the 46th season, meaning we (hopefully) won't get to miss out on whatever election season gold is waiting for us (more Maya Rudolph as Kamala Harris, we presume!). (Hollywood Reporter)
- If you haven't been keeping up with the Kardashians, good news, you won't have to soon, because E! won't be either. (Variety)
- ABC will be the first network to bring back new episodes of sitcoms, it appears. (SitcomsOnline)
WEEKLY PLANNER (SEPTEMBER 12 - SEPTEMBER 18)
- Decades is going deep into their vault this weekend with a marathon of N.Y.P.D., a 1967-1969 police drama that is not to be confused with NYPD Blue.
