Fri-Yay: Thoughts on BoJack Horseman Season 6; Netflix Sets Dec. 5 Date for V Wars

by Vincent
Last week, Netflix released the first half of BoJack Horseman Season 6. The series, as I stated in my column last week, will be ending after this season, although the final 8 episodes will be dropping in January, so this isn't the last we will see if BoJack. Nevertheless, there is definitely a feeling of finality to these new BoJack episodes, and although I'm sad to see the show ending, I'm happy that it seems to be going out with a focus and a purpose.
While I enjoyed Season 5 of BoJack Horseman immensely, I also thought it was the kind of season that felt like the show might be nearing its natural endpoint. The storyline was somewhat similar to previous seasons, and another season like it might have felt like wheel-spinning. Luckily, Season 6 has changed things up quite a bit. Without giving too much away, there are major life changes for just about every character, which causes the characterization to really be amped up - these aren’t the same lessons the characters have been learning over and over. Instead, the show seems to be guiding its characters to a natural endpoint. There are also still plenty of laughs and plenty of heavy moments, as we have come to expect from BoJack. Overall, I'm very sad BoJack is ending, but I'm also happy it seems on track to go out on a high note.

Fans of The Vampire Diaries and Buffy the Vampire Slayer rejoice, a new vampire series is coming to Netflix and it stars Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries. If you're battling the vamps, you're going to need someone with experience. Good thing Ian Somerhalder is here to join. In the series, a doctor (Ian Somerhalder) is pitted against his best friend (Adrian Holmes) after an ancient disease turns people into vampires. The series stars Ian Somerhalder as Dr. Luther Swann, Adrian Holmes as Michael Fayne, Laura Vandervoort as Mila Dubov, Kyle Breitkopf as Dezs, Jacky Lai as Kaylee Vo, Kimberly-Sue Murray as Danika and Peter Outerbridge as Calix Niklos. From the comics by Jonathan Maberry and Alan Robinson, V Wars is coming to Netflix on Thursday, December 5!
