Meanwhile, Darlene is tangled in a complex love triangle with David and Ben, and – like her mother – Harris is caught up in a problem of her own.

Bless This Mess - "459" (ABC, 8:30PM ET/PT)
Mike and Rio host the big event of college football season: the town’s Huskers kickoff party. But no one in Bucksnort believes they can pull it off. They might be right when Rio loses Portia, the pig that’s been selected for the lucky pig race. Beau and Kay frantically try to hide the fact that they’ve split up, with mixed results.

mixed-ish - "Becoming Bow" (ABC, 9:00PM ET/PT)
A young Rainbow Johnson recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ‘80s, and the dilemmas they face to acclimate in the suburbs while staying true to themselves. Bow’s parents, Paul and Alicia, decide to move from a hippie commune to the suburbs to better provide for their family. Their experiences illuminate the challenges of finding one’s own identity when the rest of the world can’t decide where you belong.

Schooled - "Dangerous Minds" (ABC, 8:30PM ET/PT)
The summer is over. On her first day back, Lainey is excited to be back at William Penn Academy, but Mellor warns her that being a pal to her students is not a good idea. Meanwhile, Principal Glascott introduces the newest science teacher to the faculty, but CB is skeptical of her no-nonsense approach.

When former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church, he finds a group of singers that are out of tune in more ways than one. With Eleanor assuming the role of the architect, the group adapts to the challenges facing them when four test subjects inhabit a new neighborhood under their supervision.

As the Otto family ushers in a new era, Katie and Greg make the emotional decision to sell the family minivan. Meanwhile, Oliver suffers a setback that forces him to rethink how to accomplish his goals.

After Brandi Chastain scores the World Cup-winning goal against China and rips off her jersey to celebrate, Evan gets his first case of “the tingles,” and now Louis and Eddie must team up to give him the talk.
