SitcomsOnline Digest: Late Night Tops Ratings for the Season; FXX Announces Archer After Hours

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! After a few busy weeks of news, we're already in our summer slump, but we're here with a few highlights, including a new after show for the FXX series Archer, a lawsuit regarding The Andy Griffith Show, and more. Let's get going!

  • The 2018-2019 season was very good for CBS, as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was the ratings king for late night talk shows. (Variety)
  • It seems like every hit cable TV show has an after show these days, and now Archer is getting one that will air on Facebook Live. (Deadline) 
  • CBS is being sued over the use of the theme song for The Andy Griffith Show on DVD and digital platforms. (Hollywood Reporter) 
  • PBS recently aired a same sex wedding episode of the children's show, Arthur, but it didn't air on Arkansas Public Television. (The Hill) 
  • The seventh (and final) season of Orange is the New Black will arrive on Netflix in July. (SitcomsOnline)

American Dad! - "Idol Threat" (Fox, 9:00PM ET/PT)
The school bully saves Steve's life at the carnival and is celebrated as a local hero by everyone but Steve.

Family Guy - "Tall Stewie" (Fox, 9:30PM ET/PT)
When Stewie puts on a pair of boots that make him slightly taller, his newfound confidence changes the power dynamic in the Griffin family.
