SitcomsOnline Digest: Community Reunion on Dr. Ken; 1950s Sitcom How to Marry a Millionaire Arrives on DVD
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- Dan Harmon, creator of Community, will guest star in the season finale of Dr. Ken, where he'll play a TV creator trying to put together a cast for a sitcom based upon life at a community college. (TVLine)
- We're still not convinced that The Big Bang Theory is "doomed" by any means, but NBC's surprising fall hit This is Us continues to prove that NBC may have finally found the big scripted hit that it has been lacking in recent years. (Vanity Fair)
- This season has been rather kind to new series that have debuted, but it turns out that the CBS drama, Doubt (which was a midseason replacement that only started two weeks ago) couldn't continue that trend, and has been canceled. (Adweek)
- Time Warner has sold channel 17 in Atlanta to Meredith Corporation, a step that makes the ten year process of separating what used to be superstation WTBS and the cable channel TBS complete. (Deadline)
- Days of Our Lives will live to see at least one more season. (Hollywood Reporter)
- getTV, which has become the digital broadcast network known for bringing many great (but forgotten) classic TV series back for viewers to see, is doing it again with two 1960s sitcoms that will begin airing March 20. (SitcomsOnline)
