IFC Renews Todd Margaret for 3rd Season; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of October 12, 2015)
Just ahead of a special New York Comic Con screening, IFC announced that the third season of its original comedy series Todd Margaret starring David Cross (Arrested Development, Mr. Show), will premiere on Thursday, January 7, 2016 with the first three episodes of the six-episode series airing back-to-back beginning at 10pm ET/PT. The remaining three episodes will premiere the following week on Thursday, January 14 at 10pm ET/PT. From the creative mind of Emmy(R) Award winner Cross, this tale of an American's business snafus in London picks up after Todd Margaret reluctantly blew up the world at the close of season two. Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) joins the cast while guest stars Will Arnett (BoJack Horseman), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners 2), Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), Amber Tamblyn (Two and a Half Men) and Russ Tamblyn (Django Unchained) return to the series playing familiar characters... with a twist.
Throughout the first two seasons, Todd Margaret bluffs his way into a senior sales position heading up the London office for the new energy drink Thunder Muscle, instigates a biohazard emergency at a major grocery store, gets swindled out of his Thunder Muscle stock by Turkish terrorists, disgraces a national tribute to fallen soldiers, gets arrested for breaking into Parliament, and, at the conclusion of season two, inadvertently blows up the world. In season three, fans will meet a very different Todd as the creators guide them on a journey where nothing is what it seems. Season one delivered over one million total viewers to IFC while the second season jumped +50% to nearly 1.6 million viewers. IFC will give audiences the chance to catch up on seasons one and two ahead of the season three debut by airing a Thanksgiving Day marathon of all 12 episodes beginning at 10pm. IFC will also air the first two seasons weekly with two episodes airing every Thursday night at 10 and 10:30pm beginning Thursday, November 26. The first two seasons also continue to be available on Netflix and DVD.
