SitcomsOnline Digest: A Look at Possible New Series for the Fall; The Wayans Bros. Continues on DVD After 12 Year Hiatus

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, we're hearing about some of the new pilots for the fall season, we're getting a preview of the upcoming season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and we're learning of a DVD release for a series that seemed to be abandoned and a somewhat surprising Blu-ray release of an older classic TV series. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB

  • The X-Files is returning to Fox for a limited series for a second time, proving that the franchise has value long beyond the original run. (Deadline)
  • For reasons that probably everybody is well aware of by now, Fox News has let go of Bill O'Reilly, a move that brings one of the biggest changes in primetime cable news in a very long time. (CNNMoney)
  • ABC has unveiled their summer plans, which much like last summer, is full of "fun and games." (SitcomsOnline

  • We've known for some time that Mill Creek would be re-releasing The Rockford Files on DVD, but the real surprise is that they're also going to be releasing it on Blu-ray for the first time ever, with their releases of The Rockford Files - The Complete Series (DVD, Blu-ray) on June 13.
