Week 11 TV Ratings and Analysis; How the Sitcoms Did

2015-16 Week 11 TV Ratings (first four nights Mon-Thu):

Households: #1. CBS 6.00/10 rating/share (+15% in rating from first four nights week 10); #2. NBC 5.74/10 (-10%); #3. ABC 3.17/5 (-27%); #4. Fox 2.73/4 (+24%); #5. The CW 1.20/2 (+54%).
Total Viewers: #1. CBS 9.720 million (+12% from first four nights week 10); #2. NBC 9.459 million (-19%); #3. ABC 5.206 million (-27%); #4. Fox 4.403 million (+25%); #5. The CW 1.937 million (+57%).
Adults 18-49: #1. NBC 2.35/8 rating/share (-30% in rating from first four nights week 10); #2. CBS 2.26/7 (+36%); #3. Fox 1.39/4 (+29%); #4. ABC 1.33/4 (-6%); #5. The CW 0.73/2 (+103%).

We have previous week's final ratings, Week 10 (11/23/15-11/29/15, LIVE+SD). NBC won the week in A18-49, thanks to two NFL airings, as NBC did a 3.16 rating. CBS was #2 with a 1.79 rating boosted by an NFL overrun on Sunday. ABC was #3 with a 1.31 rating, while Fox was #4 with a 1.16 rating. Among total viewers, NBC was also #1 with 10.892 million, with CBS #2 at 9.064 million. ABC was #3 with 5.958 million and Fox at #4 with just 3.835 million.

For season to-date (9/21/15-12/3/15, LIVE+SD), NBC is #1 in A18-49 with a 2.44 rating, followed by CBS at #2 with a 2.01 rating. Fox at #3 with a 1.69 rating and ABC at #4 with a 1.59 rating. Among total viewers it is CBS #1 at 9.931 million, followed by NBC at #2 with 8.630 million, ABC #3 with 6.384 million and Fox #4 with 5.308 million.

SitcomsOnline Digest: The Wiz Live! Does Well for NBC; The Brady Kids and More Coming from CBS DVD

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB

The Wiz Live! was a ratings success for NBC, continuing the network's streak of success with live musical specials. (Variety)
In the late night talk battle between Fallon versus Colbert, it seems that Fallon is continuing to win when it comes to ratings. (Deadline)
Sony is known for remaking American series all over the world, and the latest is a Chinese version of Mad About You. (Fusion)
Sumner Redstone isn't a household name, but the media mogul serves as chairman of both Viacom and CBS (through marriage and after divorce), and has been at the top of Viacom for nearly three decades. Now, at age 92, he is involved in a battle over whether he is mentally capable of staying in that position. (Reuters)
ABC has mostly been able to keep Wednesday nights for themselves when it comes to comedy, but now CBS is preparing to take them on. (SitcomsOnline)

HOME MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS

CBS is preparing to release one of the more obscure Brady Bunch spinoffs on DVD with The Brady Kids - The Complete Series on February 16.
CBS will also be releasing a re-release of The Andy Griffith Show - The Complete Series on February 16, without the bonus disc that was included on the previous release.
Rounding out the February 16 CBS slate is Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - The Complete Series.

DECEMBER 8 HOME MEDIA RELEASES

Family Guy - Season Thirteen (DVD, $22.99): The Fox animated series returns to DVD with all of the episodes from the 2014-2015 season.

Claim to Fame: Cindy Williams got her start in some commercials and a few guest appearances on series such as Room 222 and Nanny and the Professor, but it was a 1975 guest appearance on Happy Days that made a big difference, where she first played Shirley Feeney. Of course, that role made it into the spinoff, Laverne & Shirley, which she starred in until the last season (her character was later written out). After that, she did several made-for-TV movies, and also had a few short-lived series. Most recently, she appeared in a guest role in the series Sam & Cat, along with Penny Marshall.

VH1 Adds Sitcoms in Mornings; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of December 7, 2015)

VH1 has quietly added sitcoms to its weekday morning lineup. The sitcoms are sitcoms that air on other Viacom-owned networks. Airing Tues-Fri from 6am to 12pm. The schedule normally is like this: My Wife & Kids from 6am-8am, The Jamie Foxx Show from 8-10am and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 10am-12pm. On Fridays it could vary from this a bit. These are the only comedies airing on the network. You can find My Wife & Kids also on Centric, The Jamie Foxx Show now on CMT and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on BET and Nick at Nite. And these shows have aired on other Viacom networks before, too...but now watch them every morning on VH1!

The Love Boat Holiday Reunion on Hallmark Channel; FXX Brings Back You're the Worst

You're the Worst

FXX has ordered a third season of the critically-acclaimed comedy You're the Worst from Creator and Executive Producer Stephen Falk, who has reached an overall deal to develop and produce projects for FX Networks and FX Productions. The third season of You're the Worst will air on FXX in summer 2016. The multi-year overall deal will enable Falk to write, develop and produce television projects for FX Networks and FX Productions. You're the Worst is a modern look at love and happiness told through the eyes of two people who haven't been very successful with either. It's the story of Gretchen and Jimmy, fear, heartbreak, romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, Sunday Funday, friendship, and the fact that sometimes the worst people make the best partners. The series currently airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm ET/PT on FXX.

You're the Worst returned with an all-new episode last night, "Other Things You Could Be Doing" (December 2, 2015, 10:30 pm e/p on FXX) - Frustrated with Gretchen, Jimmy makes a tough choice. Lindsay comes to a decision about Paul. Edgar has his improv graduation show. Written by Stephen Falk; directed by Matt Shakman. The season finale ("The Heart is a Dumb-Dumb") airs next Wednesday, December 9 at 10:30 pm e/p on FXX. An original comedy from writer and executive producer Stephen Falk, You're the Worst puts a dark twist on the romantic comedy genre. Narcissistic, brash, and self-destructive Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere) has inadvertently found himself paired up with cynical, people-pleasing, and stubborn Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash). After a whirlwind courtship that culminates in Gretchen burning her apartment down with a faulty "back massager," she and Jimmy are forced to take their relationship to the next level by moving in together (which neither of them are particularly thrilled about). Now they must learn how to live with each other when they can barely live with themselves.

Rounding out the cast are Desmin Borges, who plays Edgar Quintero, Jimmy's once homeless, war veteran roommate who's on a mission to redefine his relationship with Jimmy; and Kether Donohue as Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen's best friend and former partner in crime who's now struggling to find her identity after being dumped by her "lame, soft" husband.

This Saturday, Lifetime will premiere an all-new holiday movie titled Flight Before Christmas and it will feature two stars from Family Matters. Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton, who played husband and wife Carl and Harriet Winslow, will reunite on screen for this holiday movie. Excited to take the next step in their relationship and move in with her boyfriend, Stephanie is crushed when he drops the bombshell that he wants to break up. Faced with spending the holidays heartbroken and homeless, she decides to fly home to Connecticut. On a red-eye the day before Christmas, Stephanie finds herself seated next to Michael, who is planning to propose to his college girlfriend. The two get off to a rocky start but things get even worse when the pilot announces that a huge, unexpected snowstorm is crossing the country. Their flight is diverted to a small town in Montana where Stephanie snags the last available room at the town’s bed and breakfast. Despite their differences, she offers to share the room with Michael and try their best to get along.

CBS Creates Wednesday Sitcom Hour, Other 2016 Moves; Seinfeld: The Apartment Returns, But in L.A.

CBS announced several winter and spring scheduling moves, including the series premieres of Angel from Hell and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Also, in the second half of the year, the seventh season of two-time Emmy Award-winning alternative series Undercover Boss will premiere with three special Sunday broadcasts and then move to its Friday at 8:00PM ET/PT timeslot until the return of the spring edition of The Amazing Race. The sixth season premiere of sitcom Mike & Molly will join together with 2 Broke Girls to form a new Wednesday comedy block from 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT as a bridge to the next edition of Survivor. Finally, the sophomore debut of The Odd Couple on Thursday at 8:30PM ET/PT will return to the schedule after the season finale of Life In Pieces. Here are all the dates and timings:

Seinfeld: The Apartment

Following a successful run in New York, Hulu will bring its "Seinfeld: The Apartment" fan experience back just in time for Festivus. The pop-up installation, featuring a replica of Jerry's iconic Upper West Side Apartment and full gallery experience, will be reconstructed in Los Angeles with fan favorite items from its NYC run, as well as new and exciting items from the legendary series. "Seinfeld: The Apartment" will be located at 8445 Melrose Ave. and will be open to the public from December 16-20. The re-opening of the "Seinfeld: The Apartment" fan experience will give fans across the Los Angeles area a chance to celebrate Festivus - the fictitious holiday featured in the series - by reliving their favorite moments from the show's nine seasons. In addition to the real-world version of Jerry Seinfeld's apartment and gallery experience, the latest version of the installation will feature new, interactive elements for fans, including an aluminum Festivus pole lot and even more museum items from the set of one of the most popular, award-winning and longest-running comedy series of all time. All episodes of Seinfeld underare now available to stream on Hulu's No Commercials plan and Limited Commercials plan.
