Hulu's How to Die Alone Premieres This September; Prime Video's Cross Launches This Fall

Onyx Collective's How to Die Alone premieres September 13 on Hulu. The half-hour comedy series will debut with four episodes. New episodes stream Fridays on Hulu. The comedy follows Mel (Natasha Rothwell, White Lotus), a broke, fat, Black JFK airport employee who's never been in love and forgotten how to dream, until an accidental brush with death catapults her on a journey to finally take flight and start living by any means necessary. Created by Natasha Rothwell, How to Die Alone is produced by ABC Signature in association with Big Hattie Productions. Natasha Rothwell and Vera Santamaria serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Desiree Akhavan serves as an executive producer. Starring Natasha Rothwell as Melissa, Conrad Ricamora as Rory, Jocko Sims as Alex, KeiLyn Durrel Jones as Terrance and Bashir Salahuddin as Brian.

Onyx Collective is a premium content brand under Disney Entertainment Television, with programming exclusively available to stream on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories. Prime Video announced the premiere date and revealed the key art for the long-awaited new crime thriller series, Cross starring Aldis Hodge (Hidden Figures, Underground) as Alex Cross. All eight episodes will premiere worldwide in more than 240 countries and territories on November 14 exclusively on Prime Video. From Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television, Cross is a complex, twisted, pulse-pounding thriller created by showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins, based upon the characters from James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross book series. In advance of its Season One debut, the series was renewed for a second season at Prime Video’s inaugural upfront presentation. Alex Cross is a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify—and ultimately capture—the murderers. Hodge stars in the series and also serves as a producer. Cross also stars Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford, and Ryan Eggold.

Prime Video Has a Sausage Party; UnPrisoned Trailer for Season 2

Let us be FRANK, get EGG-cited! Prime Video released the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated animated series Sausage Party: Foodtopia. The series will premiere all eight episodes of the outrageous comedy exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world on July 11, 2024. Fans in New York's Times Square were able to enjoy the official trailer and key art drop with a Sausage Party: Foodtopia themed takeover surrounding the "Hot Dog in the City" sculpture by Brooklyn-based artists Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw, who were commissioned by Times Square Arts.

Based off the 2016 animated feature Sausage Party, the series Sausage Party: Foodtopia follows Frank, Brenda, Barry, and Sammy as they try to build their own food society. Original feature film cast members Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton will return. Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester are also set to lend their voices to the animated series, in addition to Will Forte, who will portray a human named Jack, and Sam Richardson, who will portray an orange named Julius.

The series is executive produced by Tracy McMillan, Yvette Lee Bowser and Washington alongside Pilar Savone, through their Simpson Street production company, and Lindo. Joy Gorman Wettels and Jen Braeden also executive produce. The series hails from Onyx Collective on Hulu and is produced by ABC Signature.

Peacock Orders New Series from The Office Universe; Hulu's UnPrisoned Is Back July 17

A new comedy from NBC's The Office adapter Greg Daniels and Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman has been picked up to series at Peacock. The Untitled Daniels/Koman project is a new mockumentary series set in the same universe as NBC's Emmy Award-winning hit series The Office. Domhnall Gleeson (About Time, Ex-Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) will lead an ensemble cast when the series begins production in July. The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters. The series is produced by Universal Television.

The series is executive produced by Daniels and Koman along with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille).

Kerry Washington's UnPrisoned Gets Season 2; Classic Comedy Shorts Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Onyx Collective and ABC Signature announced the season two renewal of the original dramedy series UnPrisoned, starring and executive produced by Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo, on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories. UnPrisoned debuted as Onyx Collective's most-viewed premiere on Hulu and as the inaugural dramedy series for the brand. Inspired by creator Tracy McMillan’s life, the series follows a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist, social media influencer and single mom, Paige Alexander (Washington), whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad, Edwin Alexander (Lindo), gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.
