Pop Launches Jan. 14, 2015 with 90210, Melrose Place; Mike & Molly Returns Monday, Dec. 8 on CBS

Pop

TVGN announced that it will rebrand as Pop across its distribution of 80 million homes on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015. The CBS/Lionsgate joint venture, currently known as TVGN, will embrace a new on-air look and creative design to accompany its new brand promise - celebrating the fun of being a fan, as we previously announced. Among the original series will be The Story Behind, airing Wednesdays at 8:30pm. The Story Behind features new episodes that go behind-the-scenes of TV's greatest hits and most iconic shows, and how they got their start. The series reveals stories straight from the set with exclusive on-camera interviews with all the insider players from cast members to producers to television executives. The one-hour episodes will highlight some of TV's most treasured classics, including Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement, Beverly Hills 90210, Will & Grace, Full House, Friends and ER. The Story Behind will be a Pop Media Group production and will begin with The Story Behind: Everybody Loves Raymond on Jan. 14.

Also, docu-sitcom Unusually Thicke returns for a second season this spring 2015 starring Alan Thicke. Not even seven seasons as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains could prepare Alan Thicke to be the patriarch of his own modern family. Between his fiery, much younger Latina wife, Tanya, and his three sons - teenaged know-it-all Carter, pop star Robin and marijuana dispensary owner Brennan - Alan Thicke has his work cut out for him as a father, a husband and a Hollywood actor, writer and icon. Unusually Thicke follows the hilarious, action-packed and dramatic daily lives of Alan's real-life family. Dozens of celebrity appearances have been featured in the series, including David Hasselhoff, Bob Saget, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, John Stamos, Bill Maher and Tom Green, with many more to come. Unusually Thicke is an original series that blends reality television with situation comedy, and is produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment.

Pop will also have its own sitcom, Schitt's Creek, premiering Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT. Starring the incomparable Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara, the character-driven comedy series (created by and starring Eugene Levy and his son Daniel) will become the first original scripted project in the history of the network. Thirteen half-hour episodes will star Emmy winners(R) Eugene Levy (American Pie, Best In Show, SCTV) and Catherine O'Hara (Home Alone, Best In Show, SCTV) and Chris Elliott (How I Met Your Mother, Late Show With David Letterman, There's Something About Mary) alongside Daniel Levy (Admission) and Annie Murphy (Blue Mountain State). The series centers on filthy rich video store magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), his soap star wife Moira (Catherine O'Hara), and their two kids, über-hipster son David (Daniel Levy) and socialite daughter Alexis (Annie Murphy), after they suddenly find themselves broke. They are forced to live in Schitt's Creek, a depressing small town they once bought as a joke. And finally, what about the network's reruns like Family Ties, The Love Boat and more? No word yet on the full weekday schedule, but the #Throwback programming lineup will continue. The new 90210 will begin airing Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at 4:00 PM, ET/PT with the original two-hour pilot, and beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, the series will air at its regularly scheduled time slot of Monday through Friday at 5:00 PM, ET/PT. The original Beverly Hills, 90210 will continue to air marathons Tuesdays at 12:00 PM, ET/PT. But that's not all! The original Melrose Place will join the line-up and air weekly beginning Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at 12:00 PM, ET/PT. Stay with us for continued updates on the #Throwback block as we get closer to January.92

Mike & Molly

The fifth season of Mike & Molly, starring Billy Gardell and Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy, will premiere Monday, Dec. 8 at 8:30PM ET/PT on CBS. One week earlier, on Monday, Dec. 1, four encore episodes of the series will air from 8:00-10:00PM, followed by a rebroadcast of Scorpion at a special time of 10:00PM ET/PT. Mike & Molly replaces canceled sitcom The Millers on the schedule. Mike & Molly will air right after 2 Broke Girls and will lead into new episodes of new drama Scorpion at 9. Mike & Molly of course stars Billy Gardell, Melissa McCarthy, Reno Wilson, Katy Mixon, Nyambi Nyambi, Swoosie Kurtz, Louis Mustillo, Cleo King, Rondi Reed and David Higgins. Chuck Lorre and Al Higgins are the executive producers for Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. and Warner Bros. Television. The comedy is about a working-class Chicago couple who had almost given up on love...and then found each other.

TVGN Adds Love Boat, Wings, Family Ties, and More; Hallmark's Lisa Whelchel/Kim Fields Movie Scores

TVGN

TVGN is tapping into the CBS/Paramount library with some TV classics. They are adding sitcoms and dramas from various eras: Wings, Family Ties, The Love Boat, JAG, Joan of Arcadia and 7th Heaven. They will join existing CBS/Paramount series Cheers and Sony's Who's the Boss? on the line-up. Some of these series have already started and are airing in a block format weekly in the afternoons. Series still to premiere include: The Love Boat, which begins on Thursday, July 31 with a block from 12-4pm, while 7th Heaven will be aired as a strip beginning Monday, Aug. 4 airing weekdays at noon. Afternoon blocks will be as follow: JAG on Mondays, Family Ties on Tuesdays, Wings/Cheers on Wednesdays, The Love Boat on Thursdays and Joan of Arcadia on Fridays, all from about 12-4pm (then 1-4pm once 7th Heaven starts). Who's the Boss? will air weekdays from 9-10am (times vary). This is certainly great news and we hope TVGN gets even more sitcoms/dramas from that CBS/Paramount library. Perhaps Webster or Dear John?

Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields in For Better or For Worse

The premiere of Hallmark Channel's original movie For Better or For Worse, starring Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields (The Facts of Life), became Hallmark Channel's highest rated and most watched original movie of 2014 to-date, as well as the #1 household-rated cable movie of the week and day, averaging a 1.8 household rating with 1.6 million homes. The film also struck a chord in key demo ratings, making the network #1 in total viewers (0.9 rtg) and #2 among women 18-49 (0.8 rtg) and women 25-54 (0.9 rtg). The world premiere of For Better or Worse reached more than 3.0 million unduplicated viewers. In the movie, Facts of Life alumnae Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields reunite in an adaptation of the bestselling novel For Better Or For Worse by Diann Hunt. Antonio Cupo, Edward Ruttle and Alicia Josipovic co-starred in this romantic comedy about a woman who learned that opening herself up to a second chance at love may allow her to find true happiness again.

It aired on USA Network in the late '90s before popping up on WE tv in the early 2000's. The series starred Téa Leoni and co-starred Holland Taylor. The show took place at the office of a tabloid news publication. Stay with us for continued updates on TVGN and we hope even more sitcoms are added soon!

On to Fridays, we have another classic '80s drama airing from 1-5pm, this time it is Airwolf! In primetime, reruns of USA Network series Psych will air Fridays from 8-11pm. Mornings (9:30am-12am) and late nights (2am-4:30am) will continue to be Cops every weekday, as it was on G4.

On to weekends, we have a lot of encores and movies. Of note, Parks & Recreation will encore its Monday airings once again, this time Sundays 7-9pm leading into encore of Party Down from 9-10pm. Anyway, it's good to see The A-Team, Magnum P.I. and Airwolf join this network. Hopefully we see more classic '80s series join the line-up. As of now Knight Rider and Quantum Leap will not be on Esquire, as they have been airing on G4. Stay with us for continued updates on Esquire Network and for any scheduling updates.

Up next, TVGN announced that it will become the exclusive basic cable home for the #1 daytime soap, The Young & The Restless (Y&R). The acquisition of the top-rated daytime franchise from Sony Pictures Television marks the first TVGN programming announcement as part of the new CBS Corporation/Lionsgate partnership. Beginning this summer, Y&R will move from SOAPnet, where it has already been a basic cable ratings success, to TVGN, keeping the 7:00 PM, ET/PT time slot where it has built a loyal fan base, and will appear day-and-date with its broadcast on the CBS Television Network. One of the most popular franchises in daytime television history, Y&R recently celebrated 40 years on the air on CBS, where it has dominated the ratings in daytime. TVGN recently announced that is has changed its name from TV Guide Network to just TVGN. Currently, the TVGN line-up consists of reruns from 9am-8pm will series like Ugly Betty, Cybill, Designing Women, Early Edition and Who's the Boss? It is unclear what will happen now that CBS has partnered with Lionsgate to buy the network. There is speculation that same-day reruns of Entertainment Tonight, OMG! Insider and Inside Edition could pop-up on the network. Or perhaps CBS will also delve into the CBS Paramount library and air reruns of classic sitcoms from their library. It's too early to tell, but we will keep you up to date...for now you can still continue to enjoy the current slate of sitcoms/dramas. Stay with us.

Who's the Boss? Coming to TV Guide Network; Anger Management Premiere Scores for FX

The very popular family sitcom Who's the Boss? is returning to cable starting...today! TV Guide Network has acquired the cable rights to the long-running 1984-1992 ABC sitcom starring Tony Danza, Judith Light, Alyssa Milano, Danny Pintauro and Katherine Helmond. The series will air back-to-back episodes at 6:00pm & 6:30pm starting tonight, Monday, July 2, 2012. It will also air at times at 1:00am when a movie doesn't run long, so check listings. The sitcom was last seen on cable on The Hallmark Channel for one year from May 2010 to April 2011. So, after little over a year the sitcom is back on television!
The sitcom will follow back-to-back episodes of Designing Women at 5:00pm & 5:30pm, which remains in the hour. Who's the Boss? will lead into back-to-back episodes of Dharma & Greg at 7:00pm & 7:30pm for a nice block of comedy. Other comedies airing on the network are: more Designing Women (10:00am & 10:30am), Ugly Betty (1pm & 2pm), Samantha Who? (3:00pm), Ned & Stacey (3:30pm), Caroline in the City (4:00pm) and the return of Cybill (4:30pm). TV Guide Network is still also airing dramas Early Edition (11:00am) and The Guardian (12:00pm & 12:00am) on weekdays. Weeds (1:30am & 5am) and Curb Your Enthusiasm (4:00am) air sporadically.

On the series, former professional athlete Tony Micelli (Tony Danza) and his daughter Samantha (Alyssa Milano) arrive at the upscale, suburban household of executive Angela Bower (Judith Light), where Tony has taken a job as live-in housekeeper. When they arrive, Angela is uptight and obsessed with her work. Her son Jonathan (Danny Pintauro) is shy and lacks self-esteem, and her mother, Mona (Katherine Helmond), is a man-hungry vixen. Tony eventually wins them over with his laid back style, and the Bowers soon begin to loosen up.

FX's biggest night of comedy ever also proved to be one of cable's biggest nights of comedy ever as Anger Management set ratings records for a primetime scripted comedy series premiere, while Wilfred and Louie returned to the network with significant growth over their prior seasons, and FX's entry into the late night arena, BrandX with Russell Brand, got off to a strong start. Thursday, June 28 marked the most-watched Thursday night (prime, 8-11 PM) in FX's 18-year history in both Total Viewers (3.05 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.54 million). Thursday night's series debut of Anger Management (9:00 PM) was the most-watched primetime scripted comedy series premiere in cable history in delivery of Adults 18-49 (2.65 million, 2.1 A18-49 rating), and Total Viewers (5.47 million, excluding children's programming). It also ranks as the most-watched series premiere in FX history in Total Viewers.
Episode 2 of Anger Management (9:30 PM) grew to 5.74 million Total Viewers, and the demo also grew in the second half hour to 2.89 million A18-49 (2.3 A18-49 rating). While the two episode premiere was the highest rated basic cable premiere for a comedy series, the BET premiere of The Game in January 2011 was might higher doing 7.68 million and a 3.6 A18-49 rating for its one-hour season premiere. So Anger Management didn't set a record for a original comedy on basic cable, it just did it for a series premiere. But this is still pretty good. Combined with the encore telecasts (1:00 and 1:30 AM), the series premiere episode of Anger Management delivered a total audience of 6.21 million viewers and 3.11 million Adults 18-49, and the second episode drew 6.45 million viewers and 3.29 million Adults 18-49.
Episode 2 of Anger Management at (9:30 PM) ranked as the top-rated program on television (broadcast or cable) on Thursday in delivery of Adults 18-49 and Men 18-49, and in cable in delivery of Total Viewers, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 (1.24 million) and Adults 25-54 (3.22 million). The series premiere (9:00 PM) ranked #2 on television (broadcast or cable) on Thursday in delivery of Adults 18-49 and Men 18-49, and #2 among all cable programs Thursday night in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, and Adults 25-54.
Anger Management moves to its regularly scheduled time period of Thursdays at 9:30 PM ET/PT beginning this week: Thursday. July ). FX will repeat its pilot and second episode also this Thursday at 8:30PM and 9:00PM, respectively.

TV Guide Acquires Caroline in the City; Bounce TV to Launch Original Sitcom in June

Caroline in the City
TV Guide Network has added another sitcom and also two dramas! As of yesterday, they quietly added Caroline in the City to the schedule. The sitcom has not been on cable since it aired on Lifetime and Lifetime Real Women on and off from about 2003-06. The Lea Thompson 1995-99 sitcom is airing on TV Guide Network weekdays from 4-5pm and encores 7-8pm. Also joining the TV Guide Network are family dramas Early Edition and The Guardian, with Early Edition airing weekdays at 11am with an encore at 1am and The Guardian weekdays at 12 noon with an encore at 12am. So with these three new additions, will everything else remain on the schedule? No, two series will be removed from the line-up. TV Guide will not be airing Veronica's Closet and Cybill anymore, but everything else remains on the schedule and with some new timings: Designing Women (weekdays from 10-11am and 5-6pm), Ugly Betty (weekdays at 1pm and 2pm), Samantha Who? (weekdays at 3pm), Ned and Stacey (weekdays at 3:30pm), Dharma & Greg (weekdays from 6-7pm), Curb Your Enthusiasm (weekdays at 4am), and Weeds (weekdays at 5am). Movies air in primetime from 8pm-12am.
Stay with us for any further updates and if Cybill and Veronica's Closet pop up again on TV Guide we will definitely let you know! For now enjoy the new additions of Caroline in the City, Early Edition, and The Guardian!

Bounce TV, the nation's first-ever over-the-air broadcast television network for African-Americans, will launch its first-ever original series Family Time - a half hour situation comedy created by Bentley Kyle Evans (The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Love That Girl) and produced by Evans and partner Trenten Gumbs - this summer. Family Time will be seen on Bounce TV Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. with the series premiere set for Monday, June 18, 2012. Family Time centers around the life and times of The Stallworths, a working class African American family who scratches off a lottery ticket and jumps to middle class overnight. They're an authentic picture of an African American family working to live the dream. This family-next-door consists of two loving parents: Anthony (Omar Gooding, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper) and Lisa (Angell Conwell, Dave's World) Stallworth and their children Ebony (Jayla Calhoun) and Devin (Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr.) The Stallworths move to a middle class community in sunny southern California and both Anthony and Lisa bring baggage and other family members into their relationship that makes for great comedy - and occasional drama.
Now Bounce TV currently does not air any sitcoms on the schedule, so it will be interesting if they acquire any reruns of older comedies to air alongside this original sitcom. Currently Bounce TV only airs movies, Soul Train and Judge Hatchett daily and Fat Albert on Tuesday nights. We will have much more to come on this show and the potential of sitcoms joining Bounce TV! Hoping for some What's Happening!!, Diff'rent Strokes, Benson and Gimme a Break! Anyway, watch a preview of Family Time.

TV Guide Network Fall 2011 Schedule Has Short-Lived Sitcoms; MeTV Network Now Cleared In 60% of The Country

TV Guide Network has released their fall 2011 schedule and they will bring in some sitcoms! And they are short-lived ones, too! Starting Monday, Sept. 12, TV Guide Network will add the 1995-97 Fox sitcom Ned & Stacey starring Thomas Haden Church and Debra Messing, airing weekdays weekdays at 6pm and an encore weekdays at 11am starting Tuesday, Sept. 13. Then the three-season sitcom Veronica's Closet, which aired from 1997-2000 on NBC starring Kirstie Alley, will air weeknights at 6:30pm & 7pm and an encore weekdays at 11:30am & 12pm starting Tuesday, Sept. 13. Then a more recent comedy will air weeknights at 7:30pm and an encore at 12:30pm, the ABC 2007-09 comedy Samantha Who? starring Christina Applegate makes its off-network debut. All four comedies will air on Saturdays as well, from 6-8pm only and will be encores rather than continuation of the rotation. Samantha Who? has never aired out of its network run, but Ned & Stacey and Veronica's Closet had short runs on USA Network in the late 90s/early 2000s.
These are the new additions to the line-up. Curb Your Enthusiasm will no longer air weekdays from 11am-12pm as a result of these changes. The comedy will now only air Saturdays 11pm-12am and Sunday nights from 1-2am. Other changes include Ugly Betty moving its time slots to 1pm & 2pm, instead of 2pm & 3pm. The Hills will air weekdays from 4-6pm, but Nail Files will air instead from time to time. Weeds will now air Wednesday nights from 1-2am and Saturday nights from 12-2am. And Punk'd will air late nights in the 1-2am hour on some nights, like Tuesday nights and Fridays nights. It seems Spin City is no longer airing on the network, but they will continue to air movies in primetime (usually Tues-Fri and Sunday nights).
Discuss the TV Guide Network Fall 2011 schedule. Stay with us for any further updates, but adding a sitcom block is always good!

MeTV Network continues to add major markets with key media groups, most recently Hubbard Broadcasting, Journal Communications and Landmark Television. Acquisitions Central: TV Guide Gets Spin City, Wipeout Coming To truTV, GMC Acquires Heartland

Winning? TV Guide Network is shaking up its programming with the '90s sitcom, Spin City, which starred Charlie Sheen for the last two seasons. Beginning this Saturday (April 16), TV Guide Network will air the "Sheen Seasons" of the political satire sitcom every Saturday. Seasons five and six will continue to air in marathon form every Saturday (with the exception of April 30 due to the Royal Wedding programming) from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., engaging new and long-time fans. The series will also air in a special primetime block Monday, April 18 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with an encore from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. There will be airings on most weeknights in the 1:00 a.m. hour besides the Saturday airings. Late night Sheen!
Spin City ran for six seasons from September 17, 1996 until April 30, 2002 on ABC. The series starred Michael J. Fox as Deputy Mayor Mike Flaherty, with Charlie Sheen taking over Fox's role as new Deputy Mayor Charlie Crawford. The cast also starred Richard Kind as Press Secretary Paul Lassiter, Alan Ruck as Chief of Staff Stuart Bondek, Michael Boatman as Head of Minority Affairs Carter Heywood, and Heather Locklear as Mayor Winston's campaign manager, Caitlin Moore.
Spin City was last seen on cable on FX until this past fall, so it hasn't been airing on TV since. No word if TV Guide plans to air the first four seasons starring Michael J. Fox, but as of now it's only Charlie Sheen's seasons! Watch out for warlocks! Finally, as you all know, TV Guide Network also airs Ugly Betty, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Weeds, Punk'd, and The Hills.

From Charlie Sheen to big balls, in one of the most significant programming acquisitions in the network's history, truTV has licensed the exclusive, off-network cable rights to the smash hit comedic series Wipeout from Disney-ABC Domestic Television, beginning in fall 2011. Wipeout will join truTV's successful lineup, which currently includes such hit original series as Operation Repo, Hardcore Pawn, All Worked Up and Lizard Lick Towing.
truTV's acquisition of WIPEOUT comes as the network has been enjoying tremendous success with its lineup of original series. truTV now ranks as one of basic cable's Top 10 networks among men 18-49 and Wipeout will certainly help in that demo.
Created and produced by Endemol USA, the hit reality competition series Wipeout premiered on ABC in summer 2008. The show challenges contestants to complete what is billed as the world's largest obstacle course. They must face wildly outrageous barriers, from Big Balls to complex contraptions, for the chance at winning a cash prize. Wipeout, which is also shown in numerous international versions around the globe, ranks among the world's top-rated game shows. The series was recently voted by Entertainment Weekly's readers as "Reality TV's Guiltiest Pleasure."
The series, which is currently in its fourth season on ABC, is hosted by John Anderson (SportsCenter), John Henson (Talk Soup) and co-hosted by the sexy Jill Wagner. The series starts its new summer season on ABC on Tuesday, June 21.

And we have one more rerun acquisition to announce! GMC, America's favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, announced that the recently-acquired family drama Heartland will make its network premiere tonight (Thursday, April 14) with back-to-back episodes at 7 and 8 pm ET (encores at 9 and 10 pm ET and 11 pm and midnight ET, and on Sunday at 11 pm and midnight ET). The series has been airing in local broadcast syndication in many markets on weekends since the fall.
The hour-long Heartland, a top-rated series in Canada called "a modern-day Little House on the Prairie," was acquired by GMC in a U.S. cable deal with Genesis International Television and Film.
Starring Amber Marshall (The Elizabeth Smart Story), Heartland is the struggle of a debt-ridden family of Rocky Mountain horse ranchers fighting to keep a dream alive against a backdrop of young love, conflict and intrigue. Veteran actor Shaun Johnston (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee); Michelle Morgan (Stargate: Atlantis) and Graham Wardle (In the Land of Women, Yesterday) also star. In Canada, the series - now in its fifth season -- leads in households and all key individual female and male demos in its 7 p.m. time slot on Sundays on CBC Television (Canada's national broadcaster).
This series is not to be confused with the TNT original series that aired in 2006-07 with Treat Williams and Kari Matchett. This series on GMC will join such series like The Waltons and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

Empty Nest Joins Regular Hallmark Channel Schedule on March 8; Many Network Notes

As you all know, The Hallmark Channel aired an Empty Nest marathon this past Saturday (Feb. 26) that they called a "premiere" marathon. There were no regular schedule airings planned, as we reported, but now in a last minute schedule change, the show will indeed be joining the regular schedule starting next week! Perhaps the series did well in the ratings? We're not sure actually (we will try to find out), but you can assume it did. Richard Mulligan and company will join the schedule on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 and will air for two-hours every weekday from 3-5pm ET. The sitcom will start from the pilot episode and go in order. So, since it is airing four times a day and 20 times a week (16 times the first week), it should go pretty fast. The "premiere" marathon on Saturday aired all 22 first season episodes, but now the rest of the series will be shown, too. The second season will begin on Tuesday, March 15, if you want to get your DVR's ready, especially if you recorded all 22 first season episodes in the marathon.
Empty Nest will replace Little House on the Prairie from 3-5pm, but Little House will remain at 5pm and will now air from 6-8pm as well, replacing Who's the Boss? So, it is Empty Nest from 3-5pm and Little House on the Prairie from 5-8pm every weekday late afternoon/evening. Who's the Boss? will remain airing on the schedule in the late night/early morning times of 4-6am every single day. Let's hope it returns to a good time slot soon, though, but at least it is still airing. One more piece of bad news is the Who's the Boss? full-day 24-hour marathon for this Saturday (March 5) has been canceled. No reason for the change was given. The regular Saturday line-up will air consisting of I Love Lucy and Golden Girls in the mornings, then movies the rest of the day with Golden Girls and Cheers in late night. The Cheers 24-hour marathon the following day (March 6) will remain on the schedule.
There are no other schedule changes, but view our March 2011 schedule for more info and to discuss these changes!

We have many network notes to recap for you. First, last night's 20/20 special with Charlie Sheen had to preempt Detroit 1-8-7 at 10pm, as you know. ABC will now bump that episode to next week, as expected, and the following episode will air on March 15, but the season finale will air on a special night on Sunday, March 20, preempting a Brothers & Sisters repeat. The Charlie Sheen interview last night did big ratings and won its 10pm hour easily.
Yesterday we gave you the celebrities appearing on Dancing with the Stars Season 12, today we have the pro pairings! Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (who is back for his tenth season), "Psycho" Mike Catherwood and "Racey" Lacey Schwimmer (who is back for her fourth season), Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke (who is back for his eleventh season), Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas (who returns for his eighth season), Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna Trebunsakaya (who returns for her seventh season), Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff (who returns for her eighth season), Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin (who returns for his third season), Romeo and Chelsie Hightower (who returns for her fifth season), Hines Ward and Kym Johnson (who returns for her ninth season), Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel (who returns for his eighth season), and finally Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani (who is back for his eleventh season). Missing from this last from last season are Derek Hough, who will be back for season 13, and Corky Ballas, while Dmitry Chaplin returns. The season premiere is Monday, March 21 at 8pm.
Meanwhile, Grammy Award winner Cee Lo Green and fellow Grammy Award winner Adam Levine (Maroon 5) have been named as two of the four musician coaches on NBC's new musical competition series The Voice, a show about real vocal talent that will premiere on Tuesday, April 26 from 9-11 p.m. ET. Following the premiere, The Voice will also air on Tuesday, May 3 from 9-11 p.m. ET and then move to its regular time period beginning May 10 from 8-9 p.m. ET that will last through at least Tuesday, June 28. This means The Biggest Loser will be reduced to one-hour on April 26 and May 3, then it will be back to two-hour episodes, but it will move to 9-11pm instead. 10pm drama Parenthood will wrap up its 22-episode season on Tuesday, April 19. The Biggest Loser season finale is on Tuesday, May 24, so it is unclear what will air from 9-11pm starting May 31, but of course NBC has America's Got Talent coming back but no schedule has been announced yet. Last season it returned on this same Tuesday (June 1, 2010) from 8-10pm, so it is likely it returns this season on this night.
Finally, beginning Monday, March 7, The Hills repeats will be airing on TV Guide Network every weekday at 5:00 p.m. ET and 5:30 p.m. ET, as the series finds a cable home in syndication. Encores will also air at 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. The series will move Punk'd to 4 p.m. & 4:30 p.m., as Curb Your Enthusiasm is replaced. Ugly Betty will remain at 12 noon, 6pm & 7pm. Curb Your Enthusiasm will now only air in its Saturday morning schedule of 1:00am & 11:30am. Weeds will remain Thursday and Saturday nights and an airing on Sunday nights. The Hills, which aired on MTV, follows budding fashion designer Lauren Conrad and her friends as they navigate life, love and friendships. In addition to Conrad, The Hills launched the careers of reality stars such as Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Brody Jenner and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. Audrina Patridge appeared on season eleven of Dancing with the Stars this past fall.

ABC Officially Announces Romantically Challenged Premiere Date; TV Guide Network Acquires Weeds; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of March 29, 2010)

ABC has FINALLY at long last announced the premiere date of the highly anticipated multi-camera sitcom Romantically Challenged starring Alyssa Milano! Rumor premiere dates have been floating around for quite some time (such as April 5), but now ABC has finally announced a date! The series will premiere on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 9:32pm following Dancing with the Stars! So it should be good sampling for Alyssa Milano and company!
The sitcom has a 6 episode order and the series finished the tapings for this season last Thursday (March 18). The episodes will air April 19, 26, May 3, and 17. But that's only 4 episodes. On May 10 there is a two-hour Dancing with the Stars scheduled, so Romantically Challenged is not on that date but perhaps one of the episodes might air on a special night (like Wednesday with ABC Comedy Wednesday?). Or just saved for next season, if it gets picked-up. We'll let you know as soon as we now, but we are so happy this show has a premiere date! And for you fans of The Big Bang Theory, that series will be in REPEATS on April 19 and 26, so you can watch Romantically Challenged without missing that series!
Romantically Challenged is an ensemble comedy about four friends trying to find love and happiness. Alyssa Milano stars as Rebecca, a very recently divorced mom of two who hasn't gone on a date since President Clinton was in office. Rebecca's best friend since childhood, Perry, is a romance-aholic who falls in love with women 20 minutes after meeting them. Perry lives with his BFF Shawn, a struggling writer who has depended on Perry for financial stability since the turn of the century. Rounding out the group is Rebecca's younger sister Lisa, a sweet kindergarten teacher who tries to hurt every man before he can hurt her. The series stars Alyssa Milano as Rebecca, Kyle Bornheimer as Perry, Josh Lawson as Shawn and Kelly Stables as Lisa.
Stay with us for more info on this series, but make sure you watch the show on April19 and the other dates! It is going to be GREAT!!

The acclaimed comedy series Weeds will be available for the first time ever on basic cable exclusively on TV Guide Network beginning in September 2010. Produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Tilted Productions, Weeds is executive produced and created by Emmy Award winner Jenji Kohan and stars Mary-Louise Parker who earned a Golden Globe award for her series role as a suburban mom who deals pot to make ends meet after the death of her husband. TV Guide Network has acquired rights to air all episodes in the first five seasons of the series, as well as the show's future episodes, including its sixth season which is currently in production.
Weeds, which was acquired through Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury subsidiary, is the third major award-winning scripted series TV Guide Network has acquired over the past nine months. As TV Guide Network repositions itself as an entertainment programming destination, it will be debuting new, high-profile premium series beginning this summer. In June, the network will premiere Curb Your Enthusiasm, the groundbreaking improvisational comedy series created by and starring legendary producer Larry David. In Fall 2010, the network will launch a revamped primetime schedule including strips of Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Ugly Betty.
Currently the TV Guide Network schedule consists of sitcom Just Shoot Me! weeknights at 6, Punk'd at various times, Ugly Betty Saturdays at 7, American Idol Rewind on weekends, VH-1 repeats of My Fair Brady, movies and more.

It's Friday, so it is time for "Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows" for the coming week. This is where we list what sitcom stars are appearing on talk shows for the coming week, the stars are both current and past sitcom stars (but we won't cover movie stars like Tom Hanks or John Travolta, since they won't be talking about their past sitcoms likely), so this is for all sitcom fans of all eras!
