Paramount+ Orders Season 3 of Colin from Accounts; FX's Adults Premieres May 28

Colin from Accounts

Paramount+ announced that it picked up a third season of the acclaimed original comedy series Colin from Accounts, exclusively for Paramount+ in the U.S. Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer return to write, executive produce and star in the new season. Seasons one and two were met with critical acclaim and each continue to hold a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Colin from Accounts is a romantic comedy about flawed, funny people choosing each other and embracing the all-too-relatable chaos of modern life. In addition to Dyer and Brammall, the season two cast features Emma Harvie, Genevieve Hegney, Michael Logo, Helen Thomson, Darren Gilshenan, Annie Maynard, Tai Hara and Glenn Hazeldine, along with Celeste Barber, Virginia Gay, Justin Rosniak, John Howard, Lynne Porteus and Broden Kelly.

Adults

FX's Adults, a new comedy series created by Ben Kronengold & Rebecca Shaw, will premiere on Wednesday, May 28. The series features a creative team loaded with FX comedy veterans, including Nick Kroll (The League), Stefani Robinson (Atlanta, What We Do in the Shadows) under her overall deal with FX, Sarah Naftalis (What We Do in the Shadows) and Jonathan Krisel (Baskets, English Teacher).

FX's Adults will premiere on Wednesday, May 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX with its first two episodes. The entire eight-episode first season will become available the next day on Hulu and FX On Demand via television providers. FX will continue to air two episodes each Wednesday for the following three weeks. FX's Adults is an ensemble comedy series about a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither "good" nor "people" yet. "Samir" (Malik Elassal), "Billie" (Lucy Freyer), "Paul Baker" (Jack Innanen), "Issa" (Amita Rao) and "Anton" (Owen Thiele) are five friends crashing together in Samir's childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes. FX also released the key art for the series, formerly titled Snowflakes, and shared that Charlie Cox, Julia Fox, D'Arcy Carden, Grace Kuhlenschmidt, John Reynolds and Ray Nicholson will guest star in the first season.

SitcomsOnline Digest: ABC Gives Series Order to Tim Allen Sitcom; Two Saturday Night Live Cast Members Leave Ahead of 50th Season

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, we're learning more about Tim Allen's new upcoming sitcom on ABC, some Saturday Night Live casting news, and more. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB

  • Here we go again: ABC is "gearing up" for their third attempt at a sitcom starring Tim Allen, with Shifting Gears. (Hollywood Reporter)
  • As always, Saturday Night Live is getting casting together for the upcoming season (the 50th, by the way), and while two will be leaving the cast, it looks like we'll (not surprisingly) be seeing a lot of Maya Rudolph. (The Daily Beast)
  • The next batch of new episodes of That '90s Show will be arriving earlier than expected. (Deadline)
  • Up until about 20 years ago, being an anchor on the nightly news on one of the broadcast networks was one of the most stable jobs you could get, but since Dan Rather left in 2005, no anchor on CBS has lasted longer than five years, and now Norah O'Donnell is being moved to a new role to make room for another reformatting of the program. (Variety)
  • While it is still being shopped around and thus is not dead yet, the Battlestar Galactica reboot at Peacock will not be happening. (Variety)
  • FX has picked up a new comedy, Snowflakes. (SitcomsOnline)

WEEKLY PLANNER (AUGUST 3 - AUGUST 9)

  • Catchy Comedy has a binge of Full House this weekend.
  • Cozi TV is airing Married... with Children starting with a marathon today, then weekdays starting Monday.
  • Mr. Throwback debuts Thursday on Peacock.

Snowflakes stars Malik Elassal as "Samir," Lucy Freyer as "Billie," Jack Innanen as "Paul Baker," Amita Rao as "Issa" and Owen Thiele as "Anton."
