SitcomsOnline Digest: Another Addams Family Reboot in the Works?; Quibi Says Goodbye After Six Months

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, we're hearing about a potential Addams Family reboot (why not?), a political fundraiser featuring the Happy Days cast, and more. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
  • A reboot of The Addams Family doesn't exactly sound unreasonable to us, although hopefully it'll be better than what Fox Family had in the late 90s. (Deadline)
  • COVID-19 has brought a lot of uncertainty to the TV season, but at least black-ish will have a full season. (Variety)
  • Let's Make a Deal is prepping to return to the air, with a mix of virtual and in-person contestants. (Deadline)
  • A theme in political fundraisers this year (particularly the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, for some reason) seems to be cast reunions of classic TV shows, and now a virtual one is coming up for Happy Days, although Scott Baio has expressed his dissatisfaction with this and will obviously not be participating. (The Hill)
  • It was hyped forever and had billions of dollars in financing, but nothing could save the short form series streaming service Quibi, which is now dead after six whole months. (Techcrunch)
  • MeTV is getting deeper into classic cartoons, as they have now acquired Looney Tunes. (SitcomsOnline)

Archer

FXX has set the premiere date for the 11th season of Archer, the Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series. The eight-episode season will premiere Wednesday, September 16 with two new episodes airing back-to-back at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on FXX, and will be available the following day on FX on Hulu. Bio) and Keilani Arellanes also starring. See the first trailer above. The original series aired on ABC from September 1963 to August 1967. Philip and Nancy McKeon

Survivors include his sister, Nancy, and his mother, Barbara. His father, Donald, died in October.

Mr. McKeon was very good and funny as Tommy Hyatt in Alice. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McKeon family during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed.
